Hey guys,
Thought those of you that couldn't make it would enjoy seeing some pics from PAX - most notably of the Rock Band 2 setup. I've not seen anything like it. Those on stage were getting an insane amount of love from the crowd, and everyone that got up there really got into the performance. Here's a couple of pics (attached). Pardon the crappy quality, this was all taken on my iPhone.

Nah man, I just spectated. I took a shot at Guitar Hero World Tour, though. GH did have a lot more hardware setups for people to try out than RB (read as: greater than one hardware setup for people to try out).
At the RB setup I was really impressed with the whole atmosphere. It felt like the people on stage were rocking out, and the people watching were a rock crowd. The atmosphere around the GH stage was, well, like a game expo. Not that that's a bad thing (not by a large margin), it just seemed like a different feel over at RB. Probably helped that RB was set further away from the high-profile games than GH was, too.

that looked pretty small on those pictures. Was it? Or was there a larger spectating area? I want Rock Band, but I don't think I'll be getting it anytime soon. I still don't have a plastic drum kit, so I will be paying full price when it comes out. Maybe next year.

It was about the size of a large booth (40ft x40ft) There was like 3-4 guitar hero/rockband stages there.
The Rockband stage was the best though. Hence the huge line around the back of it.

Rock Band 2 is my pick for music game for this year. Lono and I played it at the Blue Skittle pre-pax party , and it played really good. Song selection was really cool. I got to play GH:WT and it was ok . IMO . The drums felt small and toy-like. Oh and the new stum bar on the RB 2 guitar felt much better than the original. I didn't have the guts to get up on-stage .

Song selection was really cool.
That's what really surprised me, dude. I mean, I heard that you could import all your RB1 songs into RB2, but on stage when people started scrolling through the song selection, the sheer mass of songs (the setup had all RB1, RB2, and DLC tracks) was pretty mindblowing.
