The best games for the psp, IMAO, are, in no particular order:

Killzone: liberation
Ratchet and Clank: size matters
Burnout Legends
Lumines
Tekken: Dark Resurrection
Syphon Filter: logan's shadow
Ace Combat: skies of deception
Pirates!
Smackdown v. Raw (although it has really long load times)

Some games that got really great reviews, but I didn't like that much:

Metal gear (small areas, basically just a game where you collect stuff, with no real story)
Loco roco (very repetitive)
Puzzle Quest ( I know right, how could I not like bejeweled with an RPG element. Well, the bejeweled part requires you to be "tactical" with your jewel demolishing, but as anyone that has played bejeweled, there's a little luck involved and during the game, playing against even low level monsters kinda sucked because they would geat a huge combo and kill you when you should easily wipe the floor with them. It happened enought times to make the game feel like you really had no control and that the bejeweled part was really kinda random and then it became not fun.)

Bleach Heat the Soul 4 (I love this game, I don't know why, I'm not even a Bleach fan yet this is one of the best and most addictive fighting games I've ever played...)

GTA:LCS is one of the best psp games, the graphics are not so great though.
Burnout Dominator is the best psp racing game imo(havent played RR tho)

The other games that i have are PES 5(good, but the loading times are terrible), NFS:UG(mwah, decent, 7/10), King Kong(gameplay sucks, graphics are very good, 6/10).

on the wanted list:
Lumines(not for the game, for the downgrade :p lol)
and what about R&C:SM and Daxter, good or not?

Has its problems, but I am still playing it even now almost a year since it was released. Tekken also gets heavy use when I travel with my friends.

Wipeout, Castlevania, and Final Fantasy Tactics are the only games that really interest me on the PSP.

FFT: War of Lions so addictive like crack, Valkyrie Profile was okay, but a little short.

Lumines was disappointing i cant belive so many people thought it was great. Sure its a good time waster and the music is pretty good , but comon......pong is more fun than dis.....

No english one announced...

The menus and shit are all in english though... The only thing you need Japanese for is some of the objectives... Which you can normall figure out by playing anyways... There's FAQs too if you cant... If you have a PSP I whole heartedly recommend it...

Get the fourth one though, the first two sucked and the third on was not as good...

Only the menu's are in English... All of them, dunno why...

I love this game... And I've clocked more hours in it than I ever did in Soul Caliber 2...

There's teh story mode, and character master, and time attack, and survival, practise, and general VS. CPU...

Character master is where you go through 6 battles wiht whatever character you choose, and you level up, you get more costumes/videos/gallary pictures and points when you level up, the more points the get, the more characters you unlock...

I've played it for more than 40 hrs in total easily...


Edit: Oh and ya, DJ Max Portable 2 is the sex, I love it to hell...

Im debating wether to get it or not to buy it, I was going to get Disgaea and FFT(both great titles on PS1 and 2). Its just the Japanese that puts me off.

Its really not. I loved Swat and I hoped it was like a mix of that and something in the same vein at the GBA Rainbow 6 (which I also loved) but its really not. Mediocre at best, thanks especially to the camera. It has the Swat basics, but it was really disapointing.

Yeah, read some reviews.... I really hoped that this would be like Killzone:Liberation but, yah know, SWAT....

That's a bit of a tough question...since there's not many PSP games I have. But, my favorite one out of the only 2 that I have would be Final Fantasy. I plan on getting Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions at some point, but it's not gonna be for a while...

Seems the geniac factory(That's genius and brainiac affiliated fer extra smartness!) came up with the idea of having your save "mate for life" to the first handheld it's created on. Meaning it goes into an oppressive sulk whenever I try to use it on my newer PSP.

I loved Burnout Dominator, Loco Roco as well. I have the 2 Prince of Persia games, they're... alright...

Patapon's good but I don't like having to redo earlier levels so many times.

King Kong is pretty shallow, and some stuff in it's just weird - you're telling me a wooden spear does more damage than a shotgun blast? It's also far too easy. The first proper dinosaur of the game - a test of your aim with a limited amount of spears? A heart-pounding battle for survival? No, just a machine gun massacre from a safe distance.

I actually have more movies than games as they're cheaper(there's a permanent 3 for £10 offer at my local Gamestation) and I get the same time out of them if I watch them twice, which you always will with a good movie.

Chains of Olympus is absolute gold. Easily my favorite on the system because I've never seen a PSP game that A) looks that good and B) handles that well. Get it!

I also dig on PQ2, Def Jam Fight for New York: The Takeover (games are better if they have a lot of words in the title!) and Crush.

i love patapon, but thats probaly because its the game im playing at the moment

Crisis Core is my favorite PSP game, followed closely by Chains Of Olympus. Then again, I've only had a PSP for three or four months, so I'm still working my way through the library. Playing the awesome Killzone Liberation right now, and I've got Jeanne D'arc on the way.

PATA-PATA-PATA-PON awesome game and Chains Of Olmypius, and Wipeout 3 great PSP games.

Ridge Racer was surprisingly good on the PSP...
I love the Ridge Racer games, so I set myself up to be excited by the PSP game... and I wasn't disappointed. I also got Wipeout Pure and that was brilliant too... :lol:

I need to get Loco Roco. I've never played it. One complaint I've heard though is that the game just doesn't have enought depth to make it interesting enough to play all the way through. Is there a demo available?

I like some of the recent releases on the PSP including Pon Pon Pata Pon,SOCOM:Whatever,LocoRoco,Lego:StarWars along with Lego:Indiana Jones and the best PSP game in my opinion God o' War.

I finally got a PSP and the three games I got which are Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops (original not plus), Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and Syphon Filter Combat Ops (best 60MB download from PSN Store) and I want FF7 Crisis Core so much!

How is Jeanne D'arc, anyway? I've heard it's a good RTS, but...

It's more of a strategy RPG than an RTS. Think of something along the lines of Advanced Wars (but deeper), or Final Fantasy Tactics. If you're into the genre it's a great game. I had a lot of fun with it. Decent story, decent graphics, and a really fun combat system. You can get it pretty cheap on eBay.

I just last night played Patapon on a friend's PSP for the first time. I got the hang of it after watching him for a few seconds, and could play it really well. Such an addicting game! I wish I could justify the purchase of a PSP, though, as I already have a DS and no need for another game system just for Patapon.
