Keep the 360 - especially its back - away from any walls or objects that could block the hot air being pumped out of the console. Now, your 360 is pretty much overheat-proof. To make sure, you can check how hot it is from time to time by just touching it (the back and the sides) - if your hands don't get red, don't start to hurt and don't melt when you do it, the 360's fine. Just keep in mind that overheating is not the thing that directly causes the RRoD. MeggaMan 09-20-2008, 02:28 PM I hear that keeping it horizontal is better because the thing it sits on vertically is one of it's vents Edthefreak 09-20-2008, 02:28 PM I hadn't even considered the overheating issue... but I guess it's ok for me because mine is in my moderately cool basement, and I can always switch to the PC at any time. I hear that keeping it horizontal is better because the thing it sits on vertically is one of it's vents Plus, I'd imagine it makes it easier for the 360 to scratch your disc when it's vertical. MeggaMan 09-20-2008, 02:38 PM Probably so viatrophy 09-21-2008, 07:27 AM Don't worry about RROD, you won't just get it because of heat, its numerous different things. |
