any advice on how to keep my xbox 360 cool? im gonna be playing it nonstop once i finish uncharted and don't want to rrod or anything

Keeping it vertically instead of horizontally is said to help it cool itself... also, try to lower the temperature in the room and get a decent air flow. Keep the 360 - especially its back - away from any walls or objects that could block the hot air being pumped out of the console. Now, your 360 is pretty much overheat-proof. To make sure, you can check how hot it is from time to time by just touching it (the back and the sides) - if your hands don't get red, don't start to hurt and don't melt when you do it, the 360's fine.

Just keep in mind that overheating is not the thing that directly causes the RRoD.

I hadn't even considered the overheating issue... but I guess it's ok for me because mine is in my moderately cool basement, and I can always switch to the PC at any time.

Plus, I'd imagine it makes it easier for the 360 to scratch your disc when it's vertical.

Probably so

Don't worry about RROD, you won't just get it because of heat, its numerous different things.
