View Full Version : Your best achievement?

Last Sunday I decided to play some GTA4 online. It had been quite some time since I last played GTA and I was curious to see if my skills had gone rusty so I picked a ranked match, Team Deathmatch.
The game started and after a couple of minutes I killed a random guy and got an achievement for it. Because I was focused on the game I didn't read what sort of achievement I got at first. But then I thought, wait a minute, an achievement for killing a random person? Did I just go over a certain amount of online kills maybe? So after the match was done I checked my achievements and it turned out that I had just killed a Rockstar! That has got to be the best achievement I've ever got. It was only 10 points, but the fact that it must be quite rare to have a Rockstar in your lobby and also kill them, makes this quite special.

So what is the achievement you're most excited about and why?

Way to kill the magic

On topic, I've never really though about it. Given my almost non-existent gaming skills, getting an achivement that involves me doing something in online multiplayer is always very welcome :)

Millions cry out in anguish! well they would if they used the site.

I suppose the achievement I worked hardest for has to be the one for completing the COD4 TV station on Veteran. I think this is the most satisfying one I have. The 'Flushed' achievement on Orange Box was cool to get too. They don't give away gamer points easy on that game!!

Best acheivement I have got is "Little Rocket Man" from Half Life 2: Episode 2. It took quite a while but I got the Gnome into the rocket.

O and unlucky man on the Rockstar achievement. I got that as well as viral lol.

I'd probably say getting the Elite completion acheivement from Timeshift.
Either that, or getting my final points on The Bourne Conspiracy to get 1000 points. That was a good feeling.

I know its not really an achievement but when F.E.A.R. came out on the 360 i was not working much so I played it alot a was number 1 in the world for 3 weeks in deathmatch.
And because of the way the ranking system works it take your percentage of games played and wins and stuff like that, last time I checked I was in the top 100 like almost 1 1/2 years later. Pretty awesome in my book.

My best achievement is split into getting both endings for Alone in the Dark.

You should automatically get 2000 gamerscore for finishing that God-awful game.

10 Sniper Kills from Perfect Dark Zero. Best achievement? No. But it was my first. :wink2: November 22nd, 2005.

As for the best?

Madgod, Shivering Isles from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. It meant I had completely dominated my favorite game of this generation.

I don't want to be a complete jerk but getting all 1000/1000 in most games is what I'm pretty fond of. It's soon going to be Seriously 2.0.

Yeah, but you have to wait for it to stand up at the right time, and not have stupid allies who try to shoot it before you do.

I would say in COD4 "The Third Horseman" was the hardest to get. Heat on Veteran is so damn hard! That or the "Mile high Club."

Was "The Third Horseman" the last couple levels? I thought those were harder than Mile.

It's towards the end. It's the one were you have like 2 mins to get down the hill from the farm. God, that was so hard and it took me so long. It's that level and "Sins of Our Father" I believe, which isn't that hard.

I think you are thinking of the one when you are in the missile silo (Ultimatum?) and that one is extremely hard as well.

codinthepocket
01-11-2009, 10:02 AM
I think mine probably has to be beating The Force Unleashed on Sith Master difficulty. That was really hard, but after doing it, I got 300 points, because of racking up difficulties.

Either that, or getting all 500 agility orbs and all 300 hidden orbs in Crackdown.

Oh, and in Crackdown, when I climbed to the top of the Agency tower, and then threw myself off it for two achievements. It was satisfying... :cool2:

I thought those were pretty easy. It was Ultimatum. The last part was when you had to defuse the missle. I had about two minutes and it wouldn't take me back a checkpoint. That would be a close second in my opinion.

Not sure if this relates to anything but I thought it was interesting.

According to 402 (IW community manager) less than 3% of all recorded 360 COD4 players have the MHC achievement.

As of Jan. 3rd we hit 10,006,606 unique users who have ever played Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on Xbox 360 and have connected to Xbox Live at least once after playing.

That number got us curious as to how many of those 10 Million+users finished the F.N.G. mission, or beat Airplane on Veteran (among other things). Well, it turns out:

71.1%, or 7,111,508 people have completed F.N.G.

That’s more than the entire population of Hong Kong (which is 7 Million).

68.8%, or 6,886,509 people have completed Cargo Ship.

This is the same number of adults in the US who were morbidly obese in 2005.

46.5%, or 5,654,643 people have beaten the game on any difficulty.

This is more than the current population of Finland!

2.8%, or 283,632 people have completed Airplane on Veteran difficulty.

The population of Stockton, CA is 280,000.

So if you’ve beat Airplane on Veteran difficulty, then congratulations. You’re in a very elite club. Considering less than 3% of players have been able to do it.

Now keep in mind, these are only players on Xbox 360 (who have also connected to Xbox Live at least once). So there are more than this playing Call of Duty 4, we just can’t track them. For PS3, we pulled MP-numbers only, and it looks like theres approximately 4,381,276 unique users playing PSN (not including SP-only players).

I would say Seriously... like the rest but I glitched it :\
I think that Two for One on Halo 3 (killed 2 enemies with 1 Spartan Laser shot in Ranked FFA) is hard to do fairly. I did it fairly a few times, but to get achievement I did it un-fairly.

Also a very easy yet long achievement is 30 Years of Franchise in Madden 06.
The 400g was NOT worth the 3 days of sitting there doing it.

I go this in lone wolf on snowbound when they had the laser still in there. Wait till you get a King of the hill and on of the hills will be on top of the base. just sit back and fire in to the top of the base when every one is up there fighting and you will get it. It took me 3 tries, the harder part was waiting for KOH on snow bound

Hmm... I have lots of achievements so I can't really say which is my most satisfying.

Get Some Grub (Orange Box) - I went through it three times actually looking for the grubs, I was so happy when I got that done.

Commando (Gears of War) - I nearly broke out into tears while trying to get Gears of War done on insane. Especially RAAM.

Mile High Club (Call of Duty 4) - Do you really need a reason for this?

Test of Faith (Mirror's Edge) - It was really hard to play through Mirror's Edge, without weapons... or Runner vision... or any idea on what I had to do throughout the game.

That's just four from four separate games, I have others from The Orange Box, but Get Some Grub is my best one, except maybe Little Rocket Man.

New squadron record in Call of Duty 4 (Finishing the training mission in less than 20 seconds) felt pretty good but I'll go with beating Gears of War on Insane. Mainly because i thought it was easy then, and now for some reason i suck at gears.
