View Full Version : What rpg did you prefer?? DontEatTheYellowSnow 11-09-2008, 03:31 PM Did you prefer The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion or Fallout 3? Necro9 11-09-2008, 03:34 PM I prefer both of them tbh. DogsDieInHotCars 11-09-2008, 03:34 PM I voted Fallout 3. I really enjoyed Oblivion quite a bit, but I've never been crazy about games from that time period (medieval). Fallout 3 hit the sweet spot for me! Millakilla 11-09-2008, 03:38 PM I loved Oblivion but Fallout 3 has what Oblivion lacked...GUNS! I vote Fallout 3 heyfling 11-09-2008, 03:44 PM I could never really get into Oblivion, I would always start a new story, get lost, then start a new story(The farthest I got was the first Oblivion Gate). Eventually I just gave up and put it on my pile of games to beat. I played through Fallout 3, so I would have to say that I liked it more. I will now try to go back to playing Oblivion, once my brother gets the game back from his friend at work. Dmatix 11-09-2008, 03:52 PM While I liked it, Oblivion lacks a certain something to keep you interested. Fallout 3 on the other hand, is almost impossible to stop playing ( on your own will at least). they are somewhat similar, but Fallout 3 is the more refined, and ultimately, the Superior of the two. AZRoboto 11-09-2008, 06:38 PM Fallout 3 for me, too. Not just for the art style, either, but because the whole world feels more realized. The NPCs are more aware that they're in a wasteland, and your communication towards them feels more realistic (Example: "What the hell are you doing out here?!?!?" when talking to a Ghoul outside near Super Mutants). In Oblivion, there wasn't any emotion when talking to the characters. And I much prefer the combat in Fallout 3. Because it's not entirely melee-based, you can sit back and relax more. But just in general, Fallout 3 is more aware of its world, and feels more mature. Not to say Oblivion was anywhere near a bad game (it's still one of my favorites), but Fallout makes Oblivion look like Imagine: Babyz. zbiggie 11-09-2008, 06:41 PM I love Fallout 3, but I do wish they had worked with the Fallout story Paradigm13 11-09-2008, 10:33 PM Far and away, Fallout 3. I certainly appreciate the obvious work that went into Oblivion, but as much as I tried, I couldn't enjoy the combat. Being that combat was such an integral part of that game, I couldn't fully enjoy it. I did enjoy the story, the good/evil alignment decisions, and the art style. But the combat system improvements, using VATS, and just plain using guns instead of sword/shield made the game much more relatable for me. crashtestgamer 11-10-2008, 03:01 PM i voted fallout 3 although they are not very similar games like what is better mass effect or fableII |
