Has anyone tried to teach there parents or an adult who hasn't played a video game before to play video games.Im trying to teach my mom to play bioshock and it is stressful.All I say is "Go over there,NOOO not there,your not going to drown,kill it,push the A(B,Y,X,right,left tigger or bumper)button.

If I were you I would not start with Bioshock. That is a very deep and artful game. not one to be understood by someone will is not yet a gamer. try with something simpler and progress up the levels. Might I suggest a game with a clear motive like Halo, etc. If all she has to do is kill it will be alot easier.

May I suggest starting and ending with PONG?

I have cursed my aunt got got her playing WOW, i stoped playing around lvl 45, she has a lvl 70 mage and a lvl 40 warlock, only game she played b4 that was the sim and harvest moon, and a little tekken tag

Yeah, start with something simple like some game on XLA. If you start with Bioshock, you're screwed.

I've never bothered, tho I have thought about showing my dad CoD. I have been trying to introduce vidoe games to my lil siter a long time, tho, without sucess. I think its mostly cos she doesn't like me just staring at my screen all day long when I am actually enjoying the culture of the future!

I would love it if my dad would play some of the WWII shooters against Supa or even Half-Life. Though it would require him buying a 360 and a TV to do the games justice. Oh, well.

My mom isn't even remotely interested in games. As for my dad I remember we played mario kart on the SNES when I was younger. Also he got very addicted to tennis in wii sports.

I can't for the life of me get my mom into gaming. The most modern one I could get her into was Hexic.

I tried getting her to play Final Fantasy XII, but she said it was more boring than her history class back in high school. Ouch.

I tried getting my mom into Wii sports and it didn't work.

I've never tried to convince my parents to try out any of my games, but when they saw me playing Wii sports they suddenly decided that they had to try it out. They loved it and eventually they moved on to WarioWare.

My dad is a huge gamer- Doom 3, FEAR, HL2, Bioshock. My mom... not so much.

Well my I got my mum into playing "Brain Training" but im not sure that is classes as a video game.

I think a good idea is to start with racing games (my mum can play Burnout reasonably well) and my dad finds the cars from Gran Turismo very interesting. (unfortunately he works for Nissan so i usually spend my time driving one of those when he is around)

Starting a parent off with Bioshock is like teaching a child to ride a bike with a mountain bike down a mountain trail. Give her some training wheels and start her off on XBL with Bomberman or any game on the Wii since there all geared towards elderly people and preschool kids..

My mom is a great fan of half life series once saw me play it and se loved and she got hoked up with it, also she sometimes plays same live arcade game when she doesn't have work. Well as to my dad well he sometimes plays Fight Night Round 3 but most of the time its racing games and he is dam good.
