Look on some of your favorite sites to get ideas, inspiration, style and news.
Also, ask people with some experience. I know Viatrophy recentky started a website. Why don't you interview him?
And most of all.... GOOD LUCK!

Did you get permission to advertise it? I don't care personally, but I know some people don't want you advertising stuff unless you have permission.

It's only me setting it up at the moment and I'm giving myself permission to advertise it..:-)

Good point. I don't know if this is advertising or not though. He's asking for ideas, and help. He doesn't even have the site up and running yet.
Like I said, I don't know.
Just ask somebody (perferably a mod or admin) anyway!

I don't think self permission is really all that credible here.
That being said, when you say web artist, do you mean programming or doing banners? If you're talking about the second one, then I might be interested...
There are some samples on the first post underneath the spoiler.

I would join but I don't think I can commit myself to something as writing big as a gaming blog.
If I was to join I want to know how many posts you'd want me to make in a week.
But I wouldn't mind being a mod.

I wouldn't mind being a Forum Mod or maybe doing a few articles, I used to write for another small gaming site but It kinda died out...

You should probably ask a Mod or someone if you can mention this because I feel that if a mod finds this, he might lock it if you don't. There's a chance.

Why does everyone want to start a Gaming site? Aren't there enough already? It seems every two bit blogger in the world wants to set up their own personal soapbox to foist their often petty views on the world at large. Who needs to visit a site that tells us exactly what YOU, an individual unknown to 99.99% of the world, thinks about anything at all? What is it that you'll do differently? Why should anyone put their time and effort into what looks like an attempt to be the center of attention and boost your own ego?
Surely you can content yourself with posting on an existing site, like the rest of us mere mortals do.
And in case you hadn't noticed, the above rant means that this thread doesn't have permission. Goodbye, and good luck. I expect to see your site on the evergrowing pile of failed ventures the Internet has inspired.
