I just made a thread about the lolcat bible translation project in the lobby and it was locked within 5 minutes. I know i was stupid the way i started the thread was a bit stupid, but i was just having a joke. Could someone tell me why it was locked.
P.S could someone make it a rule that when a thread is locked that the mod who locked it says why they locked it. I've seen lots of threads that have been locked for no apparent reason and no explanation.

It's because it would inevitably turn into a religious argument, and had to be locked before things got started. Also, it's lolspeak. That opens up the floodgates for a ton of 1337 lulz spam.

My guess would be that the mod who locked it didn't even attempt to read the lolz speech. He saw the title, went in, saw more text and a lolcat image, then just hit the close button. You might have gotten somewhere if you typed regularly

That would start an argument, the mod just got rid of it and didn't take a chance.

I think it would have been better to have just left it alone for an hour or so and see how the community reacted to it and after getting the idea from a few posts decide to lock it or not. So like if everyone was just posted "IBTL" pics or "lolcats" pics then I could see why it deserved a lock but otherwise it should have been given a chance.

First reason is that it's about the Bible. Second is that it's in lolspeech. That's enough for a thread to get locked.
