The iPhone may not be the best phone out there, but it's definitely not the worst one. While I wouldn't suggest it to someone who makes a few hundred phone calls a day, it's a perfect multi-functional PDA for a casual user. There've also been a lot of good iGames coming out recently, making it a great gaming companion.

Once again a great show, guys.

The Blackberry Storm?

That thing is crap and I feel sorry for the Blackberry brand now that they have sunk so low as to put their name in a shinny turd.

I actually got it and then went back to my Voyager.

Yeah, you have more control over what you do on the Voyager than what you do on the Storm, I had a Voyager since it came out and I am really happy with it.

Also, if you want to see what people are saying about the storm, look at these 2 links:

Yeah, no problem. I wish I would have seen the reviews before I bought it. I actually got those links from Godfree after I bought mine.

If you want a phone, I still recommend the Voyager. Is the closes you can get to the iPhone w/o actually buying the iPhone.

Hmmm. Is the music quality of the Zune better? I'm a bit of an audiophile, as well as a tech-geek, so knowing that the Zune sounded better would really go a long way to convincing me to get one. But it doesn't seem like Microsoft is doing a good job of marketing that device.

I actually had an iPod for a very long time and I loved it to death, but then I heard of the Zune from a friend that had it and after listening to it, I made the change from one to another in 3 days and (Apple fan boys will kill me for this) I threw my iPod into the Hudson River because I figured that iPods did not deserve to live.

The Zune has many more features and also the sound quality is great but it actually gets better with the special Zune headphones. I had the older headphones and they sounded a bit better than the iPod and they actually broke, but when I got the Zune headphones, you can clearly hear the difference in the music and they are the best headphones ever.

Plus, all the songs you want from the Zune Marketplace for $15 and since both of you guys  music, I think both of you will enjoy the wireless sharing of music from 1 Zune to another.

Also, let's say you are traveling from where you are to somewhere else, like New York or Texas or w/e, you can turn your wireless on the airport and download songs trough the Zune Marketplace.

Since you bought it, it must be saved in a folder somewhere in your HD. When you get a Zune, you plug it in, get the software update, then tell it to search for all the music in your PC and Sync it. after that, sit back, open up some beer and let it be until is done.

Well, the i-tunes store is infamous for forcing you to limit how many computers can use the music you have bought. It's pretty frickin' lame.

Well, just keep iTunes and don't delete it, then just use the Zune software to upload them to your Zune. The software will leach from the folder and it will technically still be in the same PC.

Wow. Quite the controversy stirred up in the other comments section of Talkingship Show #3. A guy named Cadaver Dog said that he hated the community podcasts, but he hadn't listened to Talkingship yet (and I'm guessing he didn't listen to Panda or Resonator either). And I guess he was fighting with Lono too about something or other. But then he sent me a message about how he actually did like the Talkingship show, so who knows. Shame all that fighting happened over at the other comment board, it might have generated a few more hits and interest in the regular forum here!!! Ah well.
Here's my take on the whole thing: Some of the Community Casts sound a little rough right now, but the idea of the SGCP shows wasn't to create a place for only high quality podcasts to be given life. It was created to allow the AWESOME SG Community to speak their minds and hopefully help them learn how to become better at podcasting through constructive criticism and practice. I am impressed by the number of interesting shows that have sprung up out of this venture, and I look forward to hearing all of what you guys have to offer. I also love having the ability to put my big fat mouth and opinions out there for the world to suffer through!!!
Long live the SGCP's, and Merry Chanukhristmakwanza everyone!! Where's the (spiked) eggnog??

I'll bring it here.

I was drinking spiked Eggnog while I was flaming mr negativity.

I am touchy about the SGCP (obviously.) All who participate on SGCP work hard on these things.

And when some backseat peanut gallery noob wants to shoot them all down (an opinion which he IS entitled to BTW) but in a non-constructive or even articulate manner (and especially when he admitted that he hasn't checked out your show yet!?) I get a little defensive.

I didn't read them all. If I did I might have taken a rifle shot instead of my usual Jager! :w00t:
I can sympathize with the PS3 lovers, I remember myself in the N64 days railing against the Playstation and how I would never bother to buy a non-true-3d system. I scoffed at the PS, and then I finally broke down and bought one. It was then, while playing the hundreds of excellent PS games that I had been missing out on, that I realized that being a fanboy was detrimental to my own enjoyment of videogames.
However, not being a fanboy has been detrimental to my wallet!!! Buying every system, along with 4 controllers for each, and recharge stations, and games... OY!!! I'm running outta cash here!!!

Hey again, another great show! keeping it fresh, clean (Well, guess not...) and powerful! Keep it up!!

Also, i have a Zune, i never got an Ipod, they never interested me, i will not say one is better then the other, but i will say that i prefer the Zune's navigation system more then the Ipod's (I have tried both) i don't like the idea of scrolling around in circles to move up or down. I haven't use the touch sensitive Zune 2, as i am happy with my origin zune, but it sounds better then both the Zune 1 D-pad and Ipod scroll wheel.

Also, there are programs that rips off all the stuff that Itunes adds to there songs, DRM and limitedness and turns 'em into normal MP3s with normal, unlimited use/distribution. (It's how i get my songs, since the Zune market place isn't available outside America...)

You can trick the system, but you will still need an US creditcard to buy the music, but still get the free music they release from time to time and thepodcast.

All you have to do is head over to your control panel, then go to regional configuration or w/e is called and change your country to the US and presto, you get the Zune Marketplace.

Encode your router in hex , 10 characters, pass your signal trough chanel 11 and make sure is running on port 80. Afte that, test it and it shoul be good.
Also, syncing wirelles is better for the battery life.

Every time you plug in to sync, it will charge the batt, no matter if is full, so that will f-up the batt.

Hey, my knowledge of computers is more "internal" really, software and hardware inside it. I don't have as much knowledge of networks, routers etc. So i am going to guess that the "Hex" is the security system, which i only have access to WEP and 4 different WPA and 2 WPA2 methods.

My channel is 1, which i have changed. Pass code is 13 characters, and i couldn't find any info way of changing an ports, apart from what ports my 360 goes through, having set up port forwarding for it a while ago

djdsf
12-18-2008, 11:56 AM
Encode your wep in the lowest hex you can, it will ask you to imput a 10 digit code, that is hex.
Channel 11 is not hard to find, and some routers might or might not allow you to mess with the ports.

outcast6
12-18-2008, 11:59 AM
Mine Is "WPA-PSK" because the PS3 had some wireless problems with WEP. Anyway, it isn't important because i just use the wire, and the wireless uses more power, were as the wire charges it as well, so the wire is a win win situation.

Yeah, but the wire charges it even if the bat is not low, thatīs not good, that actually fs up your battery faster.

What is the highest GB capacity of the Zunes? And how much does that high capacity one cost?

120GB, and you can delete the games that coe with it. But I know how much you love those games.

They have a tendency to keep releasing bigger Zunes every 7 or so months.

Well, I always want more space, so the 30 is not enough for me.

But if you want speed over space, you need to get te 4, 8, or 16. they run on flash drives, not HDs, so they consume less batt and they run faster.

And i was giving him the best choice if information possible, 120GB Zune, means different things if it was from a pool of only 100-120GB (Not much change there) or 4-120GB (Big choice in that pool) if you get me?

My problem is that I have 145g filled on my i-pod right now, so a 120g Zune wouldn't do me any good.

Well, I would say wait for a little longer then. There is a rummor that they are working on a 12Gb and a 150Gb Zune to be released in Spring.

Well, I should plan on buying a new phone first. This stupid Razor is damn near useless to me anymore.
