I am really annoyed, I have had this game for ages and played it and uninstalled it, recently I have wanted to play it again but when I click on the icon it comes up with

Runtime Error!
Program:C:/Program files/THQ/Dawn of War/W40K.exe
abnormal program termination

I have tried clearing space, defragging and tried downloading patch 1.01 but it wouldn't install please help I am desperate!

What O.S are you using?
Which Dawn of War game?

I am using Windows XP and I think my video card is 256MB ATI Raedon X1300PRO, it is the first DOW, game of the year edition

Could the disc have gone bad? Ive honestly never heard of this one.

I don't think so as I have two copies of the game and have tried both discs

Do you do any coding n c++? That has messed up a couple of my games recently. Normally comes up with that error

Just a thought, going on the error message, is it possible that the icon you're clicking on is looking for your previous installation, rather than the folder you've got it in now? If you've changed the install program, that might cause the problem you're seeing, which sounds like either a corrupt .exe of missing files. Have a brief hunt around your drives and see if there's another THQ or DoW folder, and try running the .exe directly from the folder that has stuff in it.

This is more likely if you've had two different copies of the game, i.e. standard and GOTY edition.

Would this problem be caused if the game is trying to run off old files?
If so that is probably the problem.
