It was real good guys Lono why do they always blame you and Doc get a ps3 and add me as a friend because I can't get into your friends list on xbl all and all a thumbs up!

It is kind of annoying that PS3 games are not selling at the levels they ought to be. They are certainly quality games, with great production values, great reviews, etc. It really is a shame because while what console is best is certainly debatable, the fact that the PS3 is a quality console is indisputable. None of them are bad (except the Wii :P).

I personally think its because Sony is letting word of mouth out class thier word. If MS let the RROD word out ring thiers, then they could have been in this position.

I exaggerated. When I used to play Halo with him he talked when only I was there, he was kind of like my own little Michigan J. Frog (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michigan_J._Frog).

I didn't get that excited for the G.O.W. 3 trailer, but then I've only played the PSP version, I'm sure it will be a good game. The trailer that I got most excited about (to my surprise) was the Uncharted 2 trailer, that was an excellent trailer I thought.

The Dark Knight looks great on Blu Ray, it is one of the only two Blu Ray's I own, that and Hulk.

And the reason why PS3 games don't sell is that Sony's PS3 marketing department couldn't market their way out of a paper bag. I also think that they can't make up their mind who they want to be selling to and have a very disjointed and unfocussed business strategy.

Their rivals are a box that sets fire to itself, which up till recently has been Japanese repellent, or two Gamecubes strapped together attached to some gym equipment, and still they are third, in a three horse race. They must be wondering how the hell that happened when they were so dominant in the last console cycle.

Well by default it appears that they made the PS3 exclusively for PS3 fanboys. Which is a small but loyal market.

I was tempted to buy a PS3 last week, during a momentary lapse of reason, for Dark Knight on Blu Ray, but decided to just spend $20 rather than $350 for the system and the Blu Ray disc. Sorry, but there just are no games exclusively on the PS3 that I need. Not to mention having loading and installation fun with it. :wink2:

There is nothing about the PS3 that makes it bad, its just been ignored because Sony doesnt put the word out there. People learn about the PS3 through word of mouth. People have so many misconceptions or outright fanboy lies about the PS3. It really is a shame.

I don't think it's that people don't know about it, it's just that M$ keeps buying all of the developers and exclusives. Sony can't even get their foot in the door in terms of games.

I will have to be honest & say that there is most likely more people cheering Sony's resent lack of success rather than feeling pity for them. Sony as a whole have always been fierce bullies in every field there name had a presence in. They dominated electronics as a whole for so many years. To buy any device that had the Sony name on it would be the equivalent of buying a Rolls Royce. There devices were that premium & it cost a premium price to own one. You don't want to know how much I dropped for there first gen G Skip Walkman CD Player =P.

Sony's very own confidence in every market has been there downfall. They refused to make an MP3 player since they felt that the format would not last. They continued to charge high prices for there TV sets, DVD/Blu Ray players, PC's & Laptops & cell phones while other options cost much less & are only slightly worse.
A majority of Sony products are indeed better than a competitor but when you walk into a best buy & see that Sony 50" 1080P LCD cost up to $1000 more than an equivalent spec Samsung LCD with only very minor differences, most will go with the Samsung. Although Sony has slammed there fist on the panic button since the prices on nearly all of there electronics have fallen a great deal in the past two months. So now that same 50" LCD I mentioned earlier is competitively priced with the competition.

When it comes to the video game console market, I simply see Sony & the PS3 getting a taste of its own medicine. When the PlayStation came out, it was like the Julius Ceaser Era all over as they instantly lade waste to so many consoles. The PS2 will continue the slaughter by finishing off Sega for good. Well, Sega was already on the edge. Sony just helped by kicking them off it :lol:. There are Video Game console companies I don't even know of that Sony killed.

Panasonic 3DO
Phillips CD-I
Nec PC-FX
Neo Geo
Many others.

They killed off the original Xbox as well as it could never really break Sony's momentum with the PS2. They could of killed off Nintendo to if it wasn't for the strength of Nintendos handheld market. The PSP was created with a purpose but did not succeed towards that goal. Microsoft got it right with the Xbox 360 though by coming in with a powerful system at a good price point. The hardware reliability did hurt it but it still sells very well due to the backing of a very good software lineup.

On top of all that, MS used it's main strength this time, money. That's something Sony can't compete with at all. Sony will never win a bidding war with MS. This is the same exact thing Sony did to everyone else with the PS1 & PS2 to get wads of exclusive games. Sony had more than everyone else during those times. The same thing is happening here but this time around, they are the ones feeling the pressure of being the less valuable company. There main concern however should not be with the Xbox 360. There concern should be with Microsoft's next console. They have convinced developers that there games can sell on a MS console so most are on board with them. There marketing campaign is far superior of the 3 for this gen. This also prove throughout it all, they can sell a console that clearly has multiple hardware issues. If a company can do that, imagine what they can do when they do release a console that gets it right all together? That's what Sony should be worrying about the most at this point, MS's next system.

I just saw one last night where a husband is showing his wife how it will only take an hour to download a movie or TV show to watch on his PS3.:lol:

I don't think I have any, but ya never know.

The 360's hardware may not be the most stable console out there, but MS got pretty much everything else right.
Live may cost you money, but at least it has a whole lot more functionality than *ahem* other consoles out there.
