Seriously? I mean, awesome cause, awesome event... what's wrong with wanting to see it in 09... and beginning to look around at what can be done locally for WHEN it is announced. (I will be floored if it's an if.)

I didn't lock it because people were supporting the idea of Extra Life in 2009. I locked it because most of the posts were people saying "I'm in" or "good idea", and there would be a lot more of them. If you want to organize it locally - feel free to start a thread. If you want to discuss the event - feel free to start a thread. But asking a question "would anyone else participate in it" is just pointless.

Ah... I see... I figured those kind of posts were unavoidable, but the idea to organize locally had come across there, so it just seemed the natural developement of the thread itself. I didnt see those as anything more then... well... usual forum static. Didnt even cross my mind to concider them beyond that.

As for a thread on local support, not till I have something a little more solid to work with. (And that, my friend, is already in the wings.)

Extra Life is the best charity ever I think I only raised 75 dollars last this time I will get the full amount this time!!!

And yeah, Che did stand up for freedom etc. but it was a different situation for him. He was fighting for freedom on forums, he was fighting for freedom in real life.

Oh Viatrophy, don't get your panties in a twist. I never said moderation is bad. I never said we shouldn't moderate the people who act like idiots. I did say, we shouldn't moderate people that use one line posts to say "YES, I SUPPORT EXTRALIFE 09!!!" All that I said was what harm was that thread causing? Who cares if the question asked provoked two word responses. The thread had good intentions!
