View Full Version : Halo 3 - What needs to happen

Halo 3 will be the final chapter of an epic trilogy. The single player looks better than both of the previous games combined. There are new vehicles, weapons, create a spartan, outrageous custom game customization, saved films, custom-game matchmaking, Clans, and other details waiting to be announced.

What Microsoft and Bungie needs to do is to have a convention all around Halo 3. Right now most people have just seen some Beta screen shots and have their mind set that Halo 3 is.. "Just Halo 2 with better graphics", while it's way more than just that.

They need to show extensive showing of saved films, show all the new vehicles and weapons being used. Have a showing of how create-a-spartan will work. Say stuff about how clans will work and any new stuff put into them. Show all the multiplayer game types including custom matchmaking, and rankings. Finally, a walk-through of a singleplayer level.

I known they've shown most of this in 'closed doors' to the press, but not the public. Let's just hope they do something like what I've said up above.

As a fan Id love to see them do this but I doubt it. Halo 3 pretty much sold itself already. Look at all the pre-orders. Part of the fun of Halo 3 is the mystery of whats in the game. If Bungie lets the cats out of the bag then there goes the fun for the hardcore fans.

They've already announced saved films, custom matchmaking, vehicles, weapons, campaign video, create a spartan, and clans. So releasing a video enhancing those categories would just make people want to buy Halo 3 even more. Giving a brief walk through on how those would work could just hype it up even more.

It's bad to give out too much information about a game. But it's even worse to have a great game but not have promoted it's certain unique features.

dude it is Bungie and it is Halo.
Bunie has a knack for keeping secrets...
Billions of people will buy it, then they won't have to say anything, the internet forums will do it for them.

Yes, because you know, there are 'billions' of xbox 360's sold. Try more like 11 million consoles itself sold. about 6 million will probably buy halo 3 before christmas. If they really want to convert Ps3 owners they're going to have to show something very breathtaking towards non-halo fans.

There's too many plot holes and things like that in the story for the single player to carry the game. If the multiplayer video recording thing (which is considered the biggest feature of the game it seems) doesn't work out, then... well, I don't think it'll work out! If they had a way of uploading your recorded vids to youtube then, well, that would be incredible... but you know if anything itll be like, you know, msn videos or some nonsense...

I am so pleased not to be worrying about this. I can't stand Halo.

It needs to end with everyone finding out that all this was just the dream of some 9 year old kid. I think that would be perfect.

ok dude, try and learn when you see sarcasm...
I know there are only 11 million consoles.
AND they are not really trying to convert PS3 people, because almost all of the people who own the PS3 right now would NEVER buy a 360, even if every review gave Halo 3 something like 11/10 or people started building churches off of it or something.

What needs to happen with Halo 3 is that people need to quit sucking on Bungie's collective genitals and realise that it's just another uninspired sci-fi FPS with a badly-executed story and average multiplayer.

Isn't it true that a lot of the Bungie people behind Halo left Bungie after the Microsoft buy-out? I think the guy that made Stubbs the Zombie maybe?

The best thing they can do is make sure to put in a map editor for multiplayer. That is the one thing that made FarCry I/P so great. I still play it on occasion because even though it is getting dated, it still has the potential to be fresh and creative. I have seen some amazing maps made be very creative people. Just my 2 cents.

Not a big fan of halo only played the first one. As far as FPS's go it was going fine until the flood then it felt like I was playing something like resident evil but with aliens. I can guess what is going to happen Flood is going to be defeated as well as the covenant all because of MC and the humans will be saved to do whatever they want. Now they could throw in a shocker and have a peace treaty with the Elites that leads to some sort of nonfire agreement like what South and North Korea have but I have my doubts. Bottom line is Bungie is on top of the world and there is no way to make thier fans completely happy they just have to settle for good enough.

I am a really big halo fan, the first halo was the reason i got an xbox then I liked the games with xbox so now I have a 360. I was sad when I heard they would stop at halo 3. What they really need to do with halo 3 is add online co-op and allow at least 4 player split screen that would be the best but I heard they won't have the online co-op and I don't know about 4 player split.

I only know one game that did Offline 4 Player Multi Split Screen and it was Quake 3 on the Dreamcast! It was REALLY Fun, I kid you not!!!
It wasn't hard to see your own 1/4 of the screen.

OH Wait! I just remembered Twisted Metal also did 4split and looked great, just as Quake3 on the DC! I hope they can do that with one of these game.
Not something complex like ;Halo, crackdown, or anything, but a simple game.Probably Gears would be fine.

Does Rainbow Six Las Vegas offer this?If it does then it's a step toward playing it more often. Not to actually getting controllers, since it would be the only game that has it, if it does.
