So recently I upgraded my PS3's HDD. Everything seemed to go smoothly with all my saves, installs, and DLC appearing seemingly without problem. That was however until I looked in my trophy collection.
For those of you who don't know, I'm tied with a couple other people here at SG for the title of biggest trophy whore. Currently, I'm level 10 with 498 bronze, 101 silver, 25 gold, and 3 platinum trophies. Needless to say, trophies mean a lot to me. That was why I was utterly devastated to see my entire trophy collection empty.
Quickly I logged into PSN and compared trophies with a friend, and saw that they were still there, however when I returned to my trophy collection, it was still empty. I then called Sony tech support, but they were completely useless, and couldn't give me a solution to my problem. It seems like a really stupid and easily fixable problem, and yet no answer.
Seriously, WTF Sony? You're telling, me that there is no way I can download my trophies, which are perfectly intact online, to my new HDD? How bloody simple would that be, huh? I don't want to have to compare trophies with a friend everytime I want to look over my trophies. What is the god damn point of having a trophy collection if it doesn't hold your freakin' trophies?! This is so stupid. Sorry to rant like this, but seriously, I'm so pissed about this its not even funny.
If anyone has any sort of solution to this problem (official or otherwise) would you please let me know.

I recently di this also. When you go into your trophy collection (right above the game disc in XMB) it should just sync with the Sony servers. As far as I am aware all of this data is kept server side with your PSN account not totally on the hard drive.

I've heard of this glitch before, they should come back after a while, try winning another trophy.

I tried syncing, and it stayed the same :sad:

Also tried that. I put in LBP, and loaded it up, and the trophies reappeared. I did the same with CoD:WaW and nothing happened :undecided:

Do you have a save game and game data on the hard drive still? I had a couple trophies not come back right away butonce I "reinstalled the game" they came back.

My new HDD has all the data off of the old HDD, so I assume it has the installs as well as the saves. Should I delete the install data, and start the game again?

Yeah, used the back up utility before hand, and synced my trophies with the server. I did the whole swap by the books.

Huh, I pretty much have no clue then, Sorry. Maybe they will resync when you earn your next trophy like Shane said.

I just read a post on the "official HDD install thread" over at PS and someone posted the same thing, and there was nothing that could be done. I guess the trick is to XMB sync the trophies right before the transfer to the "middle man" spot.....

I hope there is something that can be done for ya.

OUCH! That really sucks Jacob! As everyone else posted, I thought as long as you synced your trophies again they would come right back. I hope you can get this problem worked out. Let us know how it comes along.

You may have already done this but press triangle on the trophy icon and then hit x on sync trophies...

Also, I believe you have to view your trophies from within every game that you have trophies in for them to re-register with your account..

I have no more advice then what was already given, just droped in to say good luck with it all.

So what I'm doing now is deleting and then reinstalling the game data on my new HDD. It seems to be working but, I need the game disc to reinstall from, and like half of the trophies I have are from rented games :angry:
