What is everyones feeling with COD 5 I think the devs were smoking crack when they made the veteran mode of this game. I hate to call my self a hardcore gamer but I do like the challenge of difficult games and grinding it out to pop some well deserved achievements/trophies.

But with this game I believe they have put skill on the backburner to luck due to the INTENSE amount gernade spam that the cpu delivers. I did just complete "heart of the reich" on veteran:grin: but only after what seemed to be the most frustrating thing I have ever played.

At one point I counted 15 gernades thrown at me in one spot (and I could not move due to gernades every where). I tossed 6 back with more coming faster than I can throw them away.

Some times I just felt it is all luck to make it through the gernade spam. I like the AI hard and it should be for the skillfull players, but nade spam=luck

Any one else trying for Veteran and want to break their controller?

i think you need to realize that this is not halo and you can't win by running and gunning. you have to play tactically and advance slowly as you kill people (maybe before you get into nade range?). all you're going to do by charging in is get yourself surrounded and when you're close to them and behind cover, yeah, they'll start throwing grenades at you.

Have you tried playing on veteran? There is no gernade range they get you no matter where you are or how far back you are. if you stay in a spot no matter how far back they spam you. And if you dont advance at spots the enimies just keep respawning till you advance and bring your squad up.

I know it is not halo, I have 1000 gs in almost evry COD with never this issue
(got mile high club on another GC)

Im with juiced on this......(BTW pirate i have this for 360, not PS3, but i keep looking at your trophies to compare....hehe)

the first few levels of vet is what ala is saying..... after that.... it is all granades.......

upon granades......

upon nolan ryan throwing the nades.....

then John Elway puts some nades on your chest.....



all of that compared to regular mode..... which is Eli Manning throwing the nades

Thanks Droozy, I agree with you 100% that maybe Ala D has only played the first few levels and they realy are not that bad. But right around There Land There Blood it ramps up alot I think the hardest was

i've beaten it on veteran. if you want a REAL challenge, play co-op on veteran with the "Vampire" death card enabled. i'm pretty sure it's impossible.

I am amazed that you did not mind the gernades, AMAZED.

I am with you on the co-op I was thinking that when I was playing it that this on co-op would be that much more intense

i have it for PC... don't own a 360.

have you tried the vampire death card? your life constantly drains and the only way to replenish it is to kill bad guys. it makes you run and gun. doing that on veteran? impossible. :lol:

No have not tried it I am just trying to get the achievements but yeah that would be impossible but it could be fun on harden. I like getting the acheivemnet where you had to run through and only melee

hehehe i tried playing that vampire mode with 3 friends and it was the most frustrating thing i've experienced in a long time.

Try playing the first level on easy with all death cards enabled, Its physically impossible:lol:

I kinda gave up on veteran, I'm only missing about 4 levels Blowtorch and corkscrew, The last 2 and one other... It got really frustrating, Plus I got pretty far on blowtorch and corkscrew and then my save got corrupted... Grr

That sux, I have made it to the end of the level and got so mad I just quit and load other levels

its not impossible many have done it, I am one of them.
I think it would be unfair to patch cause I have spent hours doing it.
You can too just keep trying

I am currently stuck on the last two levels. I am outside the Reinchstag and I keep dying as my incompetent allies, don't kill anything. I would really like this patched, so they actually kill something, and keep up with me. So hopefully I can do this game for the first time.

I wouldn't say its impossible, I tried it on veteran and become frustrated and quit. It was more me then the game, I became impatient and just ran in like you mentioned. There did seem to be grenades everywhere. When I get more motivation I will again attempt to beat it on veteran.

I never said it was impossible and I like the game being difficult, but based on skill. Mostly it is like that untill the last 5 levels on Veteran feels like you need luck on your side to get pass the nades and not a test of skill.

How can you even attempt to be skilfull with you shots when you are consistantly tossing back gernades?

In my opinion, the grenades are off the charts. There is a point where there are simple too many to even be possible. But I don't want it patched or it would ruin everyone who has beaten it's hard work... Um...

Yea I dont want it patched I just wanted to disscuss the matter. I understand people have already beat it and it would be unfair as I already beat it.

But I know that half of the people that beat it where bitching about nades when they where playing it. Cause I was thats why I started this thread :)

But it appears only a few can admit it was ridiculas

this is my way of getting through the second last level on the hardest part. I made this vid the day after the game came out so dont complain about the quality as I dont really care. if you need help through the rest of the level just read the comments where I explained everything in full detail.
