Now we’ve seen some pretty wild Westsin our time. There was the unruly and rowdy West of Gun, the rather boisterous West of Call of Juarez and the somewhat turbulent West of Red Dead Revolver (a strange name considering the revolver featured was neither red nor dead). But none of these Wests, though each wild in their own way, could even begin to consider maybe even possibly thinking about coming anywhere even close to the extreme wildness featured in the prequel to Call of Juarez, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, which was announced yesterday.

Fine out just how wild this West will be, after the break.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever noticed this, but the more alliterative something is, the more wild it tends to be. For example, ‘tarnished doorhandle’ doesn’t very wild at all, yet Bound in Blood sounds very wild indeed. Likewise, the ‘wild West’ is exceptionally wild because, as well as being alliterative, it contains the word ‘wild’, doubling its wild-oscity! It’s all illustrated in this (http://sarcasticgamer.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/alliter-wildness.jpg) graph, but you can read more about all that in one of my many published papers.

Now, because Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is both alliterative and centered around the wild West (a thing that is, itself, alliterative), I have skillfully deduced that it must be incredibly wild, possibly even “the wildest West ever depicted”. That’s certainly what Ubisoft thought when they described the Western-themed shooter as, well, “the wildest West ever depicted”.

Ubisoft also expressed their confidence in sticking with developer Technet, saying that they were confident that Technet would deliver “bigger and better adventure to fans of shooters and the lawless Wild West.” It should be noted that the adventure will not, however, be more ‘badass’.

Fans of shooters and the lawless Wild West can get their mits on a cellophane wrapped copy of the game when it launches on the 360, PS3 and PC some times this year.

Well good! I think I'm one on the few people who really liked the first game. I don't think enough people gave it a chance, it had some really good set pieces and the West in that was pretty wild to start with!

It had some good ideas in the first game, such as being the first FPS I'd seen with the condition of your weapon making a difference to how well it worked. I look forward to seeing what they come up with for the sequel.
