Ok, for those of you who don't know I love Supreme Commander. I have played at least one match every single day since the Beta. That said, I am totally aware of why some players did not like it.

Not everyone lives for multi player. Some people like to play an RTS single player campaign and some random skirmish maps. In that regard Supreme Commander was kinda weak. The AI was pretty easy and the only reason some of the levels where hard to beat was because they started the enemy AI off with tons of stuff. The storyline was cool though.

Well Forged alliance really changed that. The AI is much much better. A couple of the missions are a real challenge, with the AI really using its special units to good effect. And unlike the first installment, you start the game with almost everything, and are dropped right into the middle of a pitched battle.

Another gripe with the original is the lack of diversity between the factions. Sup Com had some differences in range, speed etc...and different experimentals, but to the average joe they really do look the same. Forged really addressed this one well. More experimentals of course, some of which are just mind blowing, but the real sweetness is the large amount of new units you get for each faction, plus the new player race. Now you have your core tanks, planes etc...AND a whole slew of faction specific units that flow perfectly well with those factions strength. Killer!

The UI has also been improved. And the game runs smooth.
Really if you played Supreme Commander and found it was not really your thing, Forged is definitely worth a look. If you have never played Sup Com, Forged is totally worth it...but I'd take the time to mess around a bit because the usual teach you how to play lead up is missing.

In short, this game rocks.

I've got to be honest... I think this is the first thing (good or bad) that's I've heard about this game.

I might have to look into it over the weekend.

I was really wanting to play this when it came out but I don't think my PC can handle it. I was a bit TA fan so I might have to upgrade my graphics card for this.

Slow? I could see the initial Sup Com single player missions being slow, cause they are. But the later missions are fast and furious, and online your lucky to get a full 3 minutes before fighting starts. Forged Alliance even more so...the AI is so aggressive even I had to restart a whole bunch of times to beat the campaign. And online is just ungodly.

But Sup Com is definitely not an RTS for everyone.

It still sucks when you blow up an army of your friend's and then they say that you didn't kill their army, you killed a bunch of robots. Where's the personal touch, man? It's depressing.

Erm, I said "people" instead of "robots". Sorry. Edited.
