PC Gaming will always be number 1 to any half serious gamer, for three reasons.

1: The internet grants the user the ability to download mods, patches to there hearts content, and also there's a much better and easier online play.

2: Most high-end computers are more powerful than next generation console's. And the technology for computers is changing all the time whereas it takes years for the next console to come out.

3: Its easier and better to play games using computers than console's. (First person shooters and Real Time Stratergy games especially)

Point...Proved! :D

The consoles have HDD now so patches and mods may not be PC only for to long. I disagree about the easier and better online play. In online play PC games vary based on the publisher where as Xbox Live is the same for all games and on my Xbox online is a few buttons away where as PC games I have to make sure I have the right patch, and make sure some port on my firewall is open, and register my key code and hope that they don't tell me it's in use already

2: Most high-end computers are more powerful than next generation console's. And the technology for computers is changing all the time whereas it takes years for the next console to come out.
But you would need a PC that cost several thousands of dollars to equal the power of a console thats only $4-500 and consoles play in 1080i

Thats very subjective. Every study I have heard about says that some people play better on one or the other. People who play with a mouse tend to favor the mouse and the same for controllers.

There alot cheaper than that, especially if you build it yourself, for example my current computer cost me £1050 from novatech (Probally would of cost about £400 less if i had built it myself) and can easily outperform Xbox 360 on Oblivion. I have the game on both console's and the difference is easy to notice. However thats only for one game.

I've posted this in a different thread before, but I'll just repeat it here...

It's a fact that certain games are better fit for console gaming as others are better fit for PC gaming.
But it sounds to me like there are just too many console addicts here... :p

I need a computer and will always have a computer.
As I have to pay the price anyway, I might as well game on it instead of paying extra for a console to game on.

Keyboard and mouse have been very ergonomically friendly to me.
I can play for hours on end without feeling any discomfort.
With a console controller however, my fingers get sore (especially thumbs) and slightly cramped in the way you hold that controller.

Gameplay never feels as intensive on a console as it does on a PC.
Controllers only have so many buttons.
Mouse and keyboard give swifter and smoother moving with many more keybind features.

Chatting abilities are simply better for PC gamers as well.
Chatting within the game, or even better with software like Xfire that allows you to chat with people not playing the game when you are.
(With the ability to turn it off when you don't want to be disturbed of course...)

Mods, custom maps, other types of software,... All easily accessible for PC gamers.
They can control their console online network, but they can't control the internet

People play PC games online longer than console gamers do.
Look at StarCraft or Diablo 2 for example. 20th century stuff still being played online.
I doubt console games will ever last that long online, if any console itself will even last that long...

People tend to forget about this tiny detail, but, for console gaming you need a TV!
I know, most people do have a TV, but not everyone does.

...

Just for the record, I used to be a heavy console gamer, until I recently decided to sell it all.
You can disagree with all this, and more, but these are reason enough for me to stick to PC gaming :)

Id like to add to your statement by saying that you can always upgrade your parts at anytime without having to buy the entire thing all over again. (*cough* MAC *cough*)

True dat. I mean look, there's games on everything these days. Mobile phones, iPods, hell, even my TV has a game on it!
