I was wondering if anyone tried to acquainted with the Skate cntrol system before getting the game in some way. I'm currently playing my completed file from the first Skate on my PS3 and it's hard to get used to.

Anyone else doing/done anything similar?

i'm not sure i understand you completely, but did you download a complete file to start playing? if i did that, i would assume that there would be a tutorial at the beginning (which there is), so maybe load a new game just to go through the tutorial before loading from the completed save file. i wouldn't think you made the completed save file, because if you did i would think you'd be used to the controls by then.

also, the skate 2 demo that's available on PSN and XBL is the tutorial for the game, so check that out.

i can see the controls seeming awkward if you're used to tony hawk games, but an hour or so with this and you'll see they're much much better than tony hawk.

I played skate a long while back, and finished it, and was pleased with myself thanks to that 'Manny Madness' thing. I stopped in about April 08

Anyway, if I go back to a game, I go to a place I can free-roam quite well. The end of Skate is an ideal place

Also, the Skate 2 demo is almost a mirror of Skate, but shorter, and with more tricks. The walking is just like turning into a tank, so yeah, that is hard either way. I have tried it though

walking does take some getting used to. using the right analog to turn is a godsend!
