Hey, I was wondering are the wireless headsets louder then wired? Because I can barley hear what anybody says unless I press it hard against my ear.

yes i would assume so, because they go inside your ear.

But I've heard that there's quite a bit of static when it comes to using these wireless headsets, so don't tell me that I didn't warn you. I recommend that you grab a wired headset from a friend, try it with your xbox. If it's still really quiet then I say try a different controller, if that don't work then just mix n' match headsets and controllers. Only then I recommend grabbing the wireless headset.

Sorry to disagree with you my man, but I LOVE my wireless headset and I prefer that over wired by far. Might be because I multitask when I game and it's easy to drop the controller in between rounds and clear/make food/do homework and not worry about cords.

Quality is fine for me and the volume seems louder on my wireless

You gotta spend at least 150.00 to get a wireless headset that sounds decent. I really like my Senheiser. I sit at least 8-10ft from my screen, so a wired headset would be too messy.

I prefer the sound on my wireless headset problem is I never remember to plug the damn thing in. Also I can't help but wonder if the mic itself is any better or worse, anybody know what it's like to be on the receiving end... lol.

I much prefer my wireless over wired too :P The sound from a wireless is louder than a wired one.

My wireless headset is amazing, and I've only had one person complain about the voice quality when I spoke. But they were a backwoods redneck hick that chased an armadillo across the highway with a stick, so I don't put much stock into what he says.

Wireless has it's ups and downs. You can hear other people better but you have to yell into it for them to hear you. I'm using the microsoft wireless one though so that may be why. I'm lookin into a triton headset when I get the money.

Volume wise, the wired headsets can be louder, but the wireless are so damn convenient. Especially when you eat while you game.... don't have to worry about stabbing your sandwich with your mic. haha. Plus i went though 4 wired headsets. They break pretty easily.

You may want to go into the settings on your Xbox and I think there is a volume setting in the chat setting. Also you may want to try and press the plus button on the headset to turn up the volume on the headset.

I have to disagree. I just got some Turtle Beach X3's for 99.

The sound quality is awesome and the mic picks up my voice very well but nothing else in the room.

You should've went for the X4's.

Just bought my pair a few weeks ago, and I must say it was the best $150 dollars that I have spent on gaming. Bass is nice and bouncy even without bass boost, the simulated surround works extremely well, microphone is nice and sensitive so I don't have to speak loudly.

It gets really weird though playing a S&D match in Asylum, you can weird ghostly voices speaking to you when everything is quiet and then there's this saw that's doing something to a woman. Really freaking weird (to be of note, I was also drunk the first time I heard this).

Those look awesome, I'd really like to get a pair of them but I don't know if I'd be willing to shell out that much money for something like that.

I was thinking about the X4 but could not find enough of a dif to justify the extra 50. What was the selling point for you?

Wireless surround sound that wouldn't be affected by phones or routers. And they are durable as well, my clan mates can attest to that

I've had a wired headset for my 360 since launch. It's still going strong! However I do go through a PC headset in like 6-10 months...weird.
