I saw this premire on Fox after American Idol and started to watch it. The show is interesting and different, but seems difficult to maintain without running out of ideas.
The acting was OK, but it could have been better. Speaking of which there are were really lame parts of the premire. The whole schtick about how the comic releif character can't tell a lie was lame, every scene he was in was cheese infested, yet they dropped it in the second episode. I'm predicting future episodes filled with sexual tension between him and the rookie girl, and that will make the show even worse, trust me. I was really fascinated with the lie detection tricks and relating them to real people. I just watched the second episode, and it was better than the first. I'm excited for how this will turn out. Lie To Me has potential; it has potential to be great, yet it has potential to be a failure.

Did any of you guys see it? What'd you think?

Tim Roth=win.

But i wonder if that stuff he uses is real, or all bullshit.

I think it's a bit of both. But some of them are a little exaggerated.

I like the show. Watched the pilot and tonight's episode and will continue. I'm still waiting for a House "Everybody Lies" reference in it.

I believe atleast some if not most of it is based on real stuff. They make references to things like Facial Action Coding System (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Facial_Action_Coding_System), Microexpressions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microexpression), and other body language reading techniques and skills.

K I watched the first two episodes....ugggg. Don't like it. I hate the shows that have the characters explaining the technology or techniques used to the other characters. That's overplayed in crime solving drama's these days and I don't like it anymore...

The actors they get make OBVIOUS facial expressions that are so called "microexpressions". I thought it was quite ridiculous. It's basically the same premise as "Psych" but with bad drama. At least Psych is funny and set in my home town of Santa Barbara California!

Well, I love Tim Roth and was gonna defend this show. However, DD makes some good points. I'll continue to Tivo Lie to Me, but will also be addin Psych now. Thanks alot for adding to my already full schedule.

I'm taking over the world .

Anyways on a completely different note I didn't think it was that bad. I only saw the second episode (and even then only 10 minutes of it) but it's better than how some of you are saying it is. It's still nothing amazing either. I'd watch it again but only if I had nothing else to do and nothing else was on the TV.

I actually liked.
Coming from a person that doesn't like that much T.V. I guess that means a lot.
It has it's exagerations, but what series doesn't?
It's not a House, or the oh so "acclaimed" Psych but it has potential for a keeper.

Yeah, that part is a little bit annoying, but otherwise I wouldn't understand any of it.

Yeah, they need some better supporting actors. Some of them were just laughable, at least they got a little better in the second episode!

+1

its a real technique, and can take years to master. Never heard of the tests that the show was talking about, but its a valid tactic used by authorities, and they are right about one thing..... there is a limited amount of people qualified to do that kind of work, and are mainly government employees.

hows that to stir up the " conspiracy theory pot"
