"I recently moved into a new room. After correcting the network connections, I had my xbox 360 elite running xbox live for a solid two days. On the third day, xbox live was unresponsive; my console would connect and allow me to navigate the marketplace, check my friends' statuses, etc. However, after 2 minutes error messages arrived declaring that "xbox live could not retrieve the information." Soon, xbox live was completely intractable and it disconnected me. I took all the necessary steps to ensure that my xbox was connected properly and the settings were adjusted appropriately. After several tests through my router and also a direct connection from the jack itself to the xbox 360, I had no success.Every time I shut off my xbox, waited a minute, and then turned it back on, it would sign into xbox live and give me a brief 1-2 minutes of successful browsing before disconnecting me. The problem doesn't appear to be my internet connection, for my computer utilizes the internet fine with no interruptions. The IP and DNS settings are correct, for, as I stated previously, xbox live was running great for two days before this event occurred.

I'll summarize the symptoms for your ease of understanding:

-Xbox live is active for 1-2 minutes.
-Following 1-2 minutes, I am abruptly disconnected.
-There are no connection problems, for every time I run "Test Xbox Live Connection," it connects to xbox live successfully.
-Though, even after testing the connection, I am automatically disconnected.

Could the problem be my xbox? I just (as of a week ago) purchased an Xbox 360 Elite system new from my local Gamestop.I doubt it could be my xbox because it was working properly for two days before suddenly timing me out of xbox live. If, then, the problem lies with my internet connection, ethernet wire, jack, or router, then why does my computer utilize all these successfully with no problems?

(this message was originally going to be sent to Microsoft Support, but they limit their messages to 500 characters. Hardly enough to describe my problem in full detail.)"

This message was written by my friend. Can anyone help him?
