I'm upset that SG isn't mentioned on the sites that get visited. I'm sure it would get at least .01%!

But seriously, I'm actually shocked at how few percentage of gamers play shooters. I would've thought it would be the #1 genre out of the rest.

well they make loads of dungeon and dragon in-jokes so kinda what you expect. i've never seen anyone play it, play it my self OR know anyone who does… i reckon it's mostly old(er) game nerd who play them.

Surely Sarcasticgamer should be on that list! :D

remember this is from the PA forums. tend to be high on nerds

I think Boy/Girl Split: 94% Boys, 6% Girls will vouch for that as well.

also, just something I thought was funny:

Sites that get visited over twice a week:
- Penny Arcade: 96.1%

I found this information, coming from a PA survey, fascinating.

Well, if I'm a big fan of a place, I'd be on it twice a week. We should ask that question here and watch SG shoot to the top of the list.

And as much as we hate to admit it, SG is still farly unknown amogst most gamers, so it makes a little sense for it to not be up there.

Average Gaming Hours/Week: 18

I must say i'm a little shocked by the above stats. Maybe i'm not as hardcore as I thought lol.

Yeah I was amazed by that too. Especially the parts about "Average Game Library Collection: 73" and "Average Games Purchased/Month: 2".

If that's the average then there are way too many nerds in that survey.

agreed. I might own some where around 30 but even most of those are PS2/xbox bargain bin games.

I imagine most of those participants where over exaggerating a bit.

I would say that is correct remember most hardcore gamers aren't 12 and can afford to buy more than 1 game every 6 months, Look at it this way even if they buy 10 games a year and they are 26 they could have started buying games when they were 18... I wouldn't say 73 games was that big of a collection anyway, Considering i've had my ps3 since march 08 and have well over 20 games on it:lol:

I'm curious though, is the fact that 94% of the survey takers are male reflective of the fact that 94% of gamers are males, or just that 94% of penny arcade readers are male.

I would assume the later. I know it has to be more than 6 percent overall.

I refuse to believe that only 6% of gamers are female. I'd like to see where they got their sample from.

93.8+49.2+19.8=162.8

162.8% total!? WTF?
Something is clearly flawed here

I was shocked by the percentage of site visits. I was not shocked at the 2 games per month and average games as I am 16 and have 127 games, about 10 of which are my brothers.

on the game libary are they including ps2 games and other last gen consolls? cuz them 75 seems to small tbh... but 75 nex gen games sound well to much
