This topic has probably come up before but I'll touch on it once again.

Fallout 3 is huge, ask anyone if you don't know, it's massive, like the michellin man. As I was exploring the wastes (My guy is equipped with the suit, shady hat and tinted glasses cause he's badass) I was strolling through Alexandria Arms (southern) and heard 3 old blokes arguing. I approached them as they mentioned the Oasis (northern) and struck up a conversation with one of them. I asked what they were doing his reply was that they were looking for the Oasis, they didn't want to tell me and jumped me. Now, for anyone NOT wearing power armour, this is usually the worst as one had a shotty, the other had a rifle and the last had a knife, thankfully they didn't have power armour either so 3 quick blasts with the silenced 10mm to the face and they went down pretty quickly. I quite enjoyed this as I've played through the game 3 times prior and never saw this.

So the question I have is, what is the weirdest, strangest or coolest event you've encountered whilst patrolling the wastes?

Never ran across that, though I have been to Oasis. I remember running through the wastes and running into the AntAgnoizer and The Mechanist fighting, with their badly made superhero costumes on. That turned out to be a side-quest, but at the time I had no idea what it was.

I heard 2 Supermutants talking about how they needed more traps and more prisoners in their lair. Then I shot them in the head.

I remember seeing a survivor run up to me and scream that a raider had strapped a live bomb strapped to her and needed my help to disarm it. I'm pretty high in explosives so I'm thinking, no problem. The raider that was following her then started taking shots at me, and glanced her, and she freaked. She took off running in the other direction. I ignored the raider for the time being and ran after her, but she was way faster than me. So she runs for about 20 seconds and just explodes. The raider died, of course, but that survivor was the real story.

i found a ufo, and ye everyone knows about it, but i did not check it on youtube. i wanted to find it my self and i did :D

I came across a giant battle between Raiders and Slavers on the way to Arefu. It was massive, with dogs going at it, 20 people on each side shooting the crap out of each other. I VATSed and the Mysterious Stranger immediately came out and decimated them. Fun times..

Mechanizer vs. the Antagonizer was pretty cool, UFO, raiders fighting Super Mutants, etc...

When I went to the Super Duper Mart for the Wasteland Survival quest, I found two wastelanders and two escaped slaves at a stand off over a refrigerator with purified water in it. I tried to find a solution to the situation and we all walked away with a share of the water, but then the escaped slaves shot down the wastelanders when they were walking away. It really helped set the tone of the game early on for me.

I always see four or five raiders in a circle pushing someone around the circle beating him with melee weapons.

A spaceship falling out of the sky with the special Alien Blaster the Firelance!

A baby crying in a pram then the pram blows up.

People running up to me saying they have a bomb attached to them.

The game was lagging really bad and I was under the map killing everyone from below,I could pick up and open stuff.

Super Mutants and other enemies having conversations was pretty cool.

The best random thing i ever saw was a fight between a yau guia and two rad scorpions.
They didn't kill each other fast enough so i threw 4 frags at 'em, That did it. . . lol?

Another one I found, and if your at level 1 just exiting the vault and I had played through the game once and came up against one of these. As I walked through that small decimated town I saw a hulking thing walking at me and just behind it, 4 bodies of dead raiders. The monster was a deathclaw.

Instantly I thought "oh crap" because as everyone knows at level 1, your armed with only a pistol, theres even a math equation for this problem, lets see if any of the egg heads can work this out:
Noob + Pistol + Deathclaw + Angry =
Now, if your answer was FAIL, get yourself a cookie.

However, I was quite happy when I went into vats and discovered it only had a quarter health left. I've seen this one happen only 3 times in different games, but all at different locations.

Yeah there's some cool traps like the one on the terminals.

while wandering the wastes while on level 2, 3, or 4, i saw two people running. i was interested and i wanted to know what they were running from. so i followed them around trying to talk to them, but it said "waste lander is fleeing" so i gave up and turned around and i saw what they were running from........a death claw! it was limping so i didn't die because i out ran it. i just thought that it was weird that i saw a death claw at level 2, 3, or 4. also if you are wondering why i did not kill it.........i had no ammo and the only legit weapon i had was a baseball bat......try killing a death claw with that.... on level 2, 3, or 4

i was wandering around and found a run-down town with a couple of houses in it. i went into one of the houses and there was a family in there, acting as if everything was normal and there was no nuclear war... after talking with them a few moments and getting really creeped out, i decided they should live no longer. so i proceeded to shoot the mom, the dad, and of course, the child.

whilst searching through the mother figure i found a basement key. i thought, "oh yay, special stuff in the basement!" i was right. after going down i found about 5 bodies, some in cages, some laid out on tables, cut to shreds (some were also skeletons) and like 4 or 5 Rippers on a bench. i thought, "oh cool, a family of psychos." then i opened the fridge.

when one of the things it had inside was labeled "strange meat", i was reassured that my killing them was definitely the right thing to do. :)

I recently also found a friendly super mutant named Uncle Leo to the east of megaton. He was fighting some dogs and I noticed he didn't attack and talked to him.

He also explains why super mutants prefer taking hostages than killing them.

I rescued Red from the Police HQ (only to enslave her 5 min later) and she told me that someone else was trapped in the kitchen. At the time I was out of ammo and I thought he would be dead by the time I returned to get more. I played for about 6 game-days and a message showed up saying he was dead.

I also enslaved Flak from Rivit City. The game glitched and I came across him on the other side of the map wandering around selling weapons.

How did u kill the child?

There was an old man a few houses down that was a good guy, I dont know if you found him or not. He gives you something if you kill the parents of the boy.



Anyway, I remember I listened to the Red Show on day and Lono mentioned how he just got back into fallout 3 and ran into a talking tree. I was like: damn thats cool, Maybe I should get back into the game. So I started playing again and then BAM 10 min in I run into the Oasis. :thumbsup: Possibly the best side quest in the game (Well, story wise. Gameplay wise its just running thru a cave blasting mirelurks).

I'm not sure whether this event was planned or not (I'm guessing it wasn't) but the most random thing that's ever happened to me in fallout was backing away and firing at the same time at a radroach. The reason it was random was because after a few seconds a super mutant fell from the sky right in front of it and then just got up as if nothing had happened and fought off the radroach. And then it just completely ignored me and walked off in the opposite direction. I'm pretty sure this was a glitch though but it sure was funny.

But, the question is, were you still able to take it down? I only say that, because it seems that those things are built like tanks; they've beat the crap out of me after decimating a raider party, even while I was wearing combat armor and was tearing through it with a Chi Rifle.

Yes, but only after manouvering around to pick up the shotgun on the corpse of one of the raiders.

If I had attempted to fight it with a pistol, no way. Also, I've checked on this event, this deathclaw is weaker than your average deathclaw. As it's weaker, limping and as you can see (if you've seen it) not in a good way. I will post the entire list of events you can see tonight.

The town is called Andale, it is about 5 squares over to the right from the lowest left corner of the map, its near the nukacola plant and directly south of Vault 101.

Yes it marks the locations on the map but you have to pass over a ton of other better perks

I ran into to that weird town too, Turns out they are all cannibals(Except for the old man) and if you talk to him he will look after the kids.. But the families will find out and confront you outside their house, I convinced them i was like them then they backed off and i killed them.. They also say something like we like to keep it int eh family which hints at incest, So yes the village is full of canabalism and incest :lol:
