Yesterday, Mr. Supa wrote about (http://sarcasticgamer.com/wp/index.php/2007/11/is-the-orange-already-stale.htm) the “orange being stale”, in reference to The Orange Box (http://sarcasticgamer.com/wp/index.php/category/valve/half-life-2/orange-box) getting dull and dry for him. But that statement makes absolutely no sense.
Oranges DON’T GET STALE!

They mold.

And moldy Orange Box (http://sarcasticgamer.com/wp/index.php/category/valve/half-life-2/orange-box) doesn’t make sense either.

But either way, you are being way too critical. Even questioning the money you spent. Think of it my way (the only way): would you rather spend $60 on four superb games, or $60 on cherry flavored Ring Pops? You know that’s all you’d blow it on anyway.

Love you Supa!

Yes, I was being critical - but my biggest point was that I was just dissapointed that it was all over so quickly. Perhaps some good TF2 nights will change my mind. :)

And how did you know I loved ring pops? creepy.

Seriously, The Orange Box is all about Team Fortress 2. I would have paid that price without the Half Life's (though I still would have wanted my portal). For those who are leery or not sure about this one, just invest some good hours into playing TF2 and you'll quickly see that it's the bread winner out of that box by far.

I agree with Sharde. TF 2 + Portal is the real reason to buy the box. Half-life is just a nice add-on.

It's like buying a Celebrations box. You know, with little Snickers' and Mars' and Bounty's,.... At first you think: "omg, all that candy!! It rules!!!!" And two days later you'll have finished you're favourite ones ( go Snickers :D ) and the rest just sits there. You won't eat it, 'cause you just don't like the other flavours.

But imagine one of your favourite candies respawns every time you eat it, giving you the same pleasure infinite times, and one piece of candy that is incredibly sweet, wouldnt that be worth buying the entire box for?

PS: Yes, in MY mind, this DOES make sense... somewhere....

Well if you think about it it kind of makes sense. The Orange box was centered around a game that had already been released. Those who really wanted to play Half-Life 2 already played it. Portal from what I've seen is awesome but after you play through it it doesn't seem to have a lot of replay value. Team Fortress 2 I think might be losing players because of the uncanny amounts of good titles that are coming out.

The Orange box is an unfortunate casualty of the awesome gaming season.

This theory is squashed by the law of diminishing returns.
