Oooh boy this sucks. I was driving home from somewhere about 40 miles away, and its storming pretty bad out. The rain had stopped by the time it happened, but the roads were slick.

So I'm going about 60MPH (only 5 over) and all of a sudden the car opposite my lane swerves into my lane. I jerk the wheel right to avoid him, ride the ditch, then jerk it back to the left to attempt to get back on the road. I end up skidding across the road, nearly getting hit by another car coming that direction, down into the other ditch. I'm thrown up the hill coming out, and I'm heading straight for a telephone pole. Somehow I manage to get traction and miss the pole by three feet.

Since I didn't hit anything but the ground, the damage is minimal compared to what it could have been. The radiator is pushed forward from something being bent, and something punctured it so all the anti-freeze dripped out. My front license plate was ripped off, and my back bumper is half off. Oi.

Wow, stuff like this makes me happy not to drive or own a car anymore. At least you are ok.

Wow. Was you hurt any at all, or just scared?

I never speed when it's rainy. :P

No. It wasn't even rough enough to deploy the airbags. And I wouldn't say scared more than in shock.

Is your insurance company going to pay for the repairs?

That's what happens when you play videogames all day. Especially racing ones. ;)

Most likely, but the car may be totalled since it was a used 96 Accord with 150k miles.

Apparently you didn't see the part that said "jerked it to the right, and then jerked it back to the left". Heh.

Thank you to everyone who wished me well.
