Uh oh... I guess I was supposed to post my intro here instead of my blog. Well, I hope it's not to long...

sonicmario here. Why did I choose sonicmario as my username? Well, in the days of yore, and as the console wars raged on, I found myself in the middle of two fierce factions. I had friends who liked Sonic and thought that Sega and its Genesis could do no wrong, and I had friends who like Mario and thought that Nintendo and the SNES were equally infallible. Since I owned both systems, many times my friends would come over to my place to do battle, both verbally ("Sonic Sux!/Rox! No, Mario Sux!/Rox!" "I know you are but what am I" etc.) and on the electronic playgrounds of both consoles. One time, when I was kicking their collective asses in Super Mario Kart, I said something like this: "One day they'll make a game that has both Sonic and Mario in it together and it will be the greatest game ever!" Yes, in the console wars, I was Switzerland. After the laughter died down, someone said, "What would you call it, the sonicmario game? That'll never happen!" I said, "Yeah, sounds like a good game to me." For the rest of the day they called me sonicmario and I got my nickname. It seems that I eventually got my wish including good (SSB Brawl: WIN!) and bad (Sonic vs Mario Olympics: FAIL!) examples. Note that I'm not a total fanboy toward either Sonic or Mario games. For example: I comment to everyone that asks me that Sonic for the 360 found new and innovative ways to suck ass.

As far as gaming goes, I play just about every genre except simulation sports games. But, I can get into the arcadey sports games that focus on fun instead of realism. Competitive puzzle games like Tetris Attack/Puzzle League are high on my list as well. I also like to dabble in the classic-type games in XBLA since they accommodate my retro tendencies. However, besides my bias toward platform games that star either a 2-Dimensional Sonic or Mario in them, I love to play shmups. Shmups are like no-limit poker; easy to play but difficult to master.

My real gaming love though is pinball. Not computer pinball, but real, tactile, arcade pinball. I'm sure that this one may be coming out of left field for some people, but I'll continue. As of June 1, 2008, I am the 17th ranked player in the world of competitive pinball. Touring and playing in various tournaments is great fun, and urge you, if you like pinball, to find a league in your area and compete.

Hi I'm Max and I live in London U.K.
I've been listening to the Red show for a few weeks now and felt like the time was right to join the community.
I've got both a 360 and a Wii plus DS and PSP, one day I may crack and get a PS3, but low and behold MGS didn't do it! Well it didn't help that I have nowhere near the money to buy one at the mo...oh well.
I'm a cheap student who is beginning an effort to get into games development any way I can.
I'm also thinking of starting a blog writing about my misadventures in all the games I play, and using it as an excuse to delve into obscure old gems I've missed.
Anway this post is already too long, some feedback as to what if anything people actually want to read about would be great, and I hope to have many interesting and hopefully non flamely "debates".

The 360 gamernights are posted towards the end of the week (mostly Thursdays) in the 360 section.
They are sticky threads (top of the page), and you put your name in the thread if you are playing... :thumbsup:
The gamernights are organised mid-week, and you will find out about when they are on Thursday. Animathias puts a post on the homepage that tells you what gamernights are happening... :thumbsup:

Hi everybody!

My name is Phil as you all could guess and I'm new to the Sarcastic Gamer forum family. Having just started listening to the podcasts and reading the forums, I felt like I had to introduce myself!

So here's the short and simple of it:
I have only a PS3 since my time and finances don't allow me the pleasure of both a PS3 and a 360. I'm also always looking for people to play online games with (I have a mic and use it too!) so ifyou're ever up for an online game (and I have the game) just shoot me a message. My PSN ID is "n_lion".

The name's DeusExMathias (everybody calls me "Deus" for short) I'm a GeezerGamer (http://www.geezergamers.com/) from Houston, TX and I'm new to the site here. I just started listening to the podcast (haven't caught up to the present date yet, tho) and it's awesome - I love it! :lol:

I'm a 360 gamer and while I've historically been a FPS gamer since the days of Castle Wolfenstein 3D/Spear of Destiny, I thought GTAIV was a hell of a lot of fun. :thumbsup:

Don't get be wrong - I still love co-op/tactical FPSs like any of the given Tom Clancy titles, and Gears of War's co-op campaign was excellent. Give me an objective/mission game any day over deathmatch, tho.

I'm a "Technical Assistant" in the Quality Assurance department for a geophysical company here in Houston and am married to a beautiful wife with whom I have an even more beautiful one year old daughter (who I love :heart: even more than Gaming, itself! :shocked: )

My name is Liam, nickname is EzyLee which was given to me by my mates which refers to the rapper Ezy-E. I live in the Capital city of Australia, Canberra. I am 27 years old and I work as a graphic designer for one of the leading agencies here (www.swelldesign.com.au) and have been here for about 8 years.

During my spare time I ride and race mountain bikes, hang out with my girl, go fly fishing, snowboard, surf, skateboard, support the local Ice Hockey team and my other love which is why I am here... Playstation.

I started listening to the SG podcasts about two months ago so I could get a bit of an insight to what games were going to be released on the PS3, I subscribed then eventually found my way over here. So far I have to say it is a great community, very friendly and always helpful.

I look forward to reading more stuff and hopefully playing on line with some of you.

Hello everyone!

Don's my name, I'm from Amsterdam/The Netherlands and signed up today after listening to the podcasts (all 3 of them) for the last couple of weeks. I started gaming in the late 70's (Pong!) and got really into it during the 80's (video arcades, Atari 2600 & handhelds!)

Hope to get tangled up in loads of good talks/discussions/rants on anything Xbox360/PS3/general gaming. I own both the 360 and the PS3 and I'm not a fanboy of either, just a certified game addict. I've got my 360 for years but just recently bought my PS3. I enjoy them both equally.

It actually is a great city to live in! And it gets a bit crazy sometimes the way bikes, pedestrians, cars and all the other traffic are claiming their priorities on the road, but hey, that's the charm of it all...
