View Full Version : Rock band peripheral compatibility
Rock band 1 is only about $100 with all of the instruments, and I was planning on buying it. However, I wish to purchase rockband 2 sooner or later and was wondering if the rockband 1 instruments are compatible with rockband 2? would love to save some money....kthnxbai:thumbsup:
PikminGuts92 03-31-2009, 10:56 PM Yes, the instruments from Rock Band 1 are fully compatible with Rock Band 2. :)
I know from experience.

The Betrayer142 04-01-2009, 01:18 PM Yes they are compatible with rock band 2 as well as the new guitar heros. However, if you play drums a lot like me, and have some (more) money to waste, I would suggest getting the new drum set, cymbals not necessary. It's just quieter and more accurate than the RB1 drums, and the base pedal will not break unless you try.
koolaid21 04-04-2009, 12:40 PM yes instruments are good with rockband two so you just have to byu the game

DogsDieInHotCars 04-07-2009, 11:38 PM as I state in all Rockband peripheral threads, Get yourself a mic stand for your microphone! Play guitar and sing at the same time. It'll blow your mind.
heyfling 04-08-2009, 12:39 AM If you already have a plastic guitar, then I would just buy the Drum Kit because you don't really need any of the other accessories(you can use a 360 headset as a Microphone)

Feels good! Especially Tom Sawyer.

I tend to use a headset if I'm using guitar as well, but Mic+Stand is much cooler.
All the instruments are backwards, forwards, sideways, reverse and god-kows-what-else compatible. Nice bit of money saving. I mean, it'd be stupid to have backwards-compatible DLC but no backwards compatibility on peripherals, wouldn't it?
godslabrat 04-27-2009, 07:21 PM Has there been any talk of either A) releasing a patch that lets you use RB2 guitars on GHII and GHIII, or B) releasing an updated GHII/III game with RB2 compatibility? I like both franchises, but I'm only buying one set of instruments.

Victorsxl 04-28-2009, 09:37 AM They are but i would recommend rock band 2 instruments rather than Rb1. The rb 2 guitar can auto calibrate you TV which is very nice if you do have a widescreen tv. Also the RB 2 drum kit is a lot better than Rb1 kit imo.
