I hope so too.

What I really hope for is that if they charge a monthly fee(and they will... I think, feel free to correct me), that they don't charge an outrageous fee.

5 bucks a month I would have no problem. Anything over ten and I will stick to KZ2.

A game that 256 x 256 will require one hell of a server farm since it is a FPS'er. Not an MMO. That's what there claiming anyway. So if it is indeed that, you can expect to pay at least $10 a month. If they spin it as an MMOFPS, then the design will be different to cater to that kind of gameplay. Which in turn will make it more capable of running very well on a single server at no fee.

It looks pretty realistic. Can't wait to see if the actual game will look like that.

Those pictures do look pretty nice, I like the use of a wide color palette.

It doesn't matter if it's a FPS or a MMO, it's just a server. The real problem they're going to have is having 256 players on multiple servers at once, as in, physically sitting there playing the game. If heaps of people don't play at once then this game wont work. Plus, if they use dedicated servers ($10 says they are), then they'll have to advertise heaps to make people in local reigons all play at once. It's going to be tricky :\

MMORPG servers & FPS based servers work much differently. I only know this due to the fact that I am currently a network administrator & I run my own servers & have been since 1999 for games such as Unreal Tournament & Counter Strike.

When it comes to FPS'ers, most of the data is stored on the client side with the exception of stats & rank pro if applied to the given game. In an MMO, everything down to the key configuration (Some MMO's) is stored in files and/or databases on the server side. This is of course with the exception of add ons & user made modifications. In most cases, the database only exist on the specific server that the player is on. Although I've learned that in some MMO's, databases are linked off to another central server to take load off of a server farm.

Servers designed to run an MMO are caped to a certain point & are isolated to a specific realm. Meaning you can't hop around from server to server & have your character that you have made be there. FPS servers are not isolated but stats, ranks, etc can be either stored on the client side or linked off to a central server for global stats. How ladders & leaderboads work for online games.

There is a few conflicts this game will run into though. 512 is the max given 256 x 256 is what they stick to. A 512 cap for a server is small cap if it's an isolated one. What I'm guessing is have multiple client running off of one server with the database being a central isolated server. What they are attempting to do is the same thing Joint Operations did but on a much larger scale. Joint Operations was an FPS dubbed an MMOFPS that had a max cap of 164 players. That's 82 vs 82. Although most user & clan servers were of the 32 vs 32 variant. The large scale servers are uber expensive.

I don't know if this is just me, but I still really don't care about this game. I'm sure when more info is released, if the info about the game is something I'll enjoy then I'm sure I'll change my tune.

What I believe this is going to be is a game that cannot see the forest through the trees by overclouding it with a **** tonne of stuff, I don't think overclouding a games content has worked for any title thus far and particularly since this is an FPS, I just don't think too many people are going to try this and then latch onto it.
