What do you think was the worst game of 2007/ why?

Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing. Its terrible and it is still the lowest score ever given to a game on Gamespot.

stranglehold ties with CONAN and the CRAP taciular list. Stanglehold had some serious hype to...What a disaster. Sliding my glass ass into watermelons got old in about 4.8 seconds.

Crackdown.... although I'm certain all those Dynasty Warrior style games were much worse, I didnt play them. Crackdown for me was just incredibly boring once the innitial hit opf the powers wore off

Can i just put forth the Movie game genre for this? If not that how about two worlds I just played the demo and it was the worst game I've played.

Edit: I was going to say Yaris but that was only because one of the podcasts keeps saying how bad it was. After a lot of thought i figured out it wasn't sarcastic gamer and most likely was X3F

The Simpsons Game. The funny jokes don't make up for the crappy controls and wonky camera angles.

Americas Army all the way. Tha game was pratically broken.

Shadowrun gets my vote. Oh and PES08 really let me down.

OK, reading all the comments i'm seeing a lot of confused individuals. I can understand you were let down by some games in one way or another but that surely doesn't warrant worst game of the year. Crackdown, i didn't play it a lot but was great while i did play it, Shadowrun i thoroughly enjoyed and wasn't a bad game, just something people didn't like.

In my opinion, the out and out worst game this year would have to be, hands down, without a doubt, the bug riddled, AI stupidity, graphical garish piece of dog crap that was Hour of Victory.

Seconded. There's a lot of decent nominees, but this game failed in pretty much every possible aspect.

I'd also like to nominate Two Worlds for a second category -- the game with the greatest disparity between hype received and quality delivered.

Two Worlds was a terrible waste of time. The demo was terrible after 3 minutes of playing i never wanted to play agian. Before playing the demo i was excited by all the hype the game was getting

If someone only played CoD4 and Halo 3, one of them would be their worst game of the year though.

two worlds, i saw the demo played it looked very much last gen. it was bland, controls looked bad, graphics were s#@1 [excuse my french] and the world was awful

Worst 360 Titles of 2007

Shadowrun
I'm going to put this under "How could FASA get this game so wrong?" If anyone is an older gamer they may remember Shadowrun on both the Super Nintendo and the Sega Genesis. The Super Nintendo was more of a "Go do this!" kinda RPG that dumbed down the Shadowrun system a bit. The Genesis Shadowrun was much more true to the Pen and Paper Game and much more of an open Sandbox world. You could follow the main quest, or just do missions and hack into the Matrix.

How could FASA get Shadowrun so wrong? Rather then make it into a killer RPG title we got Counter-Strike meets a Cyberpunk/Fantasy world. Really no single player to speak of, boring game play, and just wasting the Shadowrun IP... Shame FASA shut down after, I was really wanting to see a new Crimson Skies or Mech Assault, or dare I say... An RPG of Shadowrun!!! Still waste of time and money and should have been made into a free download...

Hour of Victory
Well one would think that all the World War 2 based shooters would be drying up by now... Still go fig that we would need this one, boring story, boring game play, bad multiplayer... All of that amounts to bad game.

Sadly this 'game' if you want to call it one, is the first Xbox Live Arcade Demo I downloaded. It really reminded me of well most of the really bad Combat Racing games on the Playstation 1, and hell those where better then this. Just bad, really bad...

Wing Commander Arena
Little story for all of you, when I was 13 (now 28) my main system was a Super Nintendo along with my Sega. Anyway I had gotten sick and my Dad went out and rented me a game for the SNES. Now my Dad being a Programmer went with a game he saw the guys playing around the Office. In this case Wing Commander 1 on the SNES, and I fell in love with this game. After xmas that year, I had gotten some spending money from the folks back in New York. So I went down to the mall to pick up a new game, and on the shelf sat a copy of Wing Commander with Ultima 7 for $30 bucks for the PC. Almost overnight I went from being a SNES Gamer to a PC Gamer, all thanks to Wing Commander...

Then we got this!

See I really want to like this game, I mean it's been a long wait for a new Wing Commander. I mean I would have taken anything, I would have taken a Wing Commander 1 update for XBLA. I would have taken a Wing Commander remake that was based on the god awful movie. I would have taken Super Wing Commander from the 3D0... What we got was this, a really, really, really bad title. Controls suck, it looks bad, it's ingored most of what made Wing Commander good. Rather it's just a game that EA came out with to cash in on Wing Commander...

The sad part is, I hope EA and other's see that rather then pulling a bad title out like this one. That the money should have been spent on making Wing Commander 1 work on the 360. And pushing the older PC Titles onto Live Arcade, like Wing Commander, Ultima, System Shock (dear god with BioShock they should put both 1 and 2 on there) Crusader. Or even work out a deal for the older Star Wars PC titles like X-Wing/TIE Fighter/Dark Forces.

Hour of Victory, Vampire Rain and America's Army: True Soldiers would be my picks for disc-based titles. For the XBLA, Yaris... no doubt about it.
