Welcome to a new show.* Sarcastic Gamer Radio is a variety show hosted by Doc and Dave and featuring many voices you’ll recognize.* This show isn’t the one to turn to for in-depth analysis of top stories, but rather a place for gamers to turn to when they’ve had enough of all of that.* It’s a 30-minute road-trip around the Sarcastic Gamer Community with lots of stops along the way at places that don’t always have the cleanest restrooms.* So reset your odometer, because as one journey ends, so begins the next leg of our podcasting adventure.

Sarcastic Gamer Radio #1:* Don’t hold your breath

This show features 15 Seconds of Fame from 8bitbass, Kim Andre, Chicken X and Seth Van Acker, plus some special help from MosEisley.** We talked about everything from Bananas to Fallujah, and got a visit from our old friend and SG news legend, Paul Christy.* Way too much to tease in just one paragraph, so just go ahead and give it an open-minded try.* Thank you for stopping by.

Please stop by* iTunes (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=260079519)and*subscribe (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=260079519)to Sarcastic Gamer Radio.* For the people who really know their stuff, here’s an RSS feed (http://feeds.feedburner.com/SarcasticGamerPodcast) you can use to jack in to the show from just about any reader.

Direct Download purist?* Okay then.* Here’s your plain mp3. (http://media.libsyn.com/media/sarcasticgamer/SGRadio-001.mp3)

Thanks for listening.

Special thanks to Undead Dog for coming through with the new logo, and to Venus for her mad skillz (below)

I can't believe it, but all my fears about the future of SG have been calmed. The new SGRadio is great. Loving the Community focus. Miss the extended game talk, but I listen to podcasts to be entertained, and this one does the job. Good Job guys.

Wasnt this part of a bet where if GTR won SG would change its name to Sarcastic Gamer Radio?

I'm down with it! It's a little busy, with a few too many segments popping up which can be jarring, but it's still a HELLUVA good show. Compare this to 99% of other podcasts out there (present company excluded, har har) and tell me this isn't light years ahead of the rest of the crap! I'm excited about Sarcastic Gamer Radio and what the future holds.

I just finished. It's better than the old show. I like all the new segments. Was that edited less than an hour before it's release? Judging by Doc's twitter question it was.

Very nice of you to say. We're not trying to compete with the Red Show... just moving on to something else.

Sorry to shake you up. trust me. EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE FINE

Wasnt this part of a bet where if GTR won SG would change its name to Sarcastic Gamer Radio?

That would have been Sarcastic Gamertag Radio... and I can't remember why we never did that.

im not sure on so many segments Camdog made a good suggestion in the unofficial chat if theres that many segments mayby you should consider pushing it to 45 minutes

Good show guys! I like the community aspect.

I would like to hear more game discussion in future episodes. Perhaps you could do something similar to the 15 seconds of fame and have people send in a 15 second clip with a question or a rant about a game and then you two could give your thoughts?

Well i think it has grown on me after listening there are a few things that i see that may need fixing but i feel like you guys will work it all out on your own or with help from other forum goers. I can tell that you and Dave have put a lot into it and thats great kinda brings a tear to my eye. Good work guys and i hope i and the rest of the SGC can grow along with this new show.

Wait, wasn't there supposed to be a new parody song? I mean, there were parts of a few, but still...

Great show, but I'm going to miss the old one like crazy all the same. No more Dave taking us out, no more martini time, no more...generic Red show-ness...

Give me time, I'll get over it. Again, great show!

Finished listening to the entire thing now and I'm impressed. It'll take getting used to the new format but I'm glad your deviating from the old show. Good job guys.

I also think it would be interesting for a debate over a game or a game topic that you two either get from the SGC or something that is big in gaming. An example with Six Days in Fallujah is that Doc could take a pro side of why it should be released with Dave taking the opposite stance of why it shouldn't be released (or vice versa).

Dear God that might kill us. there were more than 600 pieces in that show ... 900 might break something... but you never know.

People can do whatever they want in their 15 seconds... rant or play an instrument or make a pie. Thank you for the feedback bazz

Will there be any more HDUDs, or is this the end of them too?

Pushing the show to 40 or 45 minutes could help with everyones want for more game talk just use that extra 5 or 10 minutes in each game segment not adding more pieces.

There is nothing NOTHING better than busting the cherry on a new pair of socks. I have massive amounts of socks because every time I pass socks in a store I buy some.

Next time, don't even bother sniffing the xbox. The only way the cocaine is coming out is by cracking that baby open. Who knows you may even find some X in there.

I... Don't know what else to say... I don't think I've laughed hard in the first 20 seconds of a podcast, Doc that laugh was hysterical

I think I'm going to like this. Since episode 1 of the Red show, and now since episode 1 of SGR

It was still about gaming. It just gave a spotlight to the community. They talked about games and some silliness thrown around. I still don't know how the podcast "lowers the bar" where the "bar" was just talking and talking. Even the last couple of episodes were going down the hill until this one gave a it a breath of fresh air. But up to you I guess.

What a great show guys, I really like it a lot.

Production was amazing and the show felt really fresh, I think it's really noble of you guys to start over fresh with the events that took place. I'm really looking forward to watching this grow.

You guys are really naturally funny.

I really give Dave a lot of credit, you really stepped up man and I'm glad you did.

I feel like there will probably be a lot more game discussion when there's games they can talk about but either way incredibly entertaining show.

Good job guys, I really mean that.

indeed, this is more like the huge epicnes of the old episodes, the latest red shows were cinda lame, but this one is a huge improvement but i hope you can fallow this into the next episodes. hope they are becoming as much epic as this one

I really enjoyed it, I'd downloaded the Red show since Episode 72, and thought it was all right, better than other stuff, gave me a few good laughs, but nothing amazing.

SInce the whole Lono thing happened, I downloaded everything since Episode 13 (iTunes won't let me get anything earlier than that :( ) and they are great fun to listen to! You guys sound like you were having more fun than you are in the current ones (I'm up to episode 42 now).

Listening to the SGR #1, I could tell there was a lot more of the fun you guys used to have in the older Red Shows, and it has benefited for it  Some people might not like the sound bite heavy stuff, but I think that as long as it is funny, and does what it is supposed to do, then it is all good. It does, so I am happy

Keep up the good work

I'll see if I can record some piano playing for my 15 seconds if I can find the time

I like it.
Right at the beginning I realized that you've gone back to the way you were in the early days. Good move I tell you.

In the first 10-20 episodes of the Red Show you were great. You talked about anything, gave birth to things like "Pumpkin, You give me a break and LAUGH MONKEY" But for some reason after that you became a boring show that was all about summarizing everything I had read on Kotaku a few days before.

That's also why at one point I started to like the Blu Show better. They didn't take themselves seriously, and they gave us things like Weeeeee and the Roomahs. The Red Show became my "News summary" show, while Blu and Pink were for entertainment.

So congratulations Doc and Dave, you are now fun again. I was trying to study while listening to you, but it was impossible, because I felt like I'd be missing something awesome. I could ALWAYS study without any problems when listening to the Red Show by the way.

I have something to whine about as well.
At a few points in the show it seemed to me that Doc tried a little too hard to sound casual and unprofessional. I never thought I would ever say this, but Doc, try to be a little more like Dave.

I don't know...it all seemed a bit hectic for me. Segments, ads, other funny stuff all hit me left, right and centre. The structure seems more fluid and wavy. It was almost as confusing as this post.

Impressions: I don't know if the show is better or worse than the Red Show. Just Different.

I have just finished the podcast, and it was a breath of fresh air in a slightly stale and somewhat crippled (when Lono left) podcast. It has reminded me of the early shows from way back and I thourerly enjoyed it. I was considering dropping the Red show after the last few had disappointed me but now I have reconsidered and will continue to download them religiously. 110% satisfaction :)

Just finished listening to the new show this morning on the bus ride into work. While I found it to be entertaining, I think it was a bit too "busy". In other words, while listening to it, I felt like I was in the midst of a rapid spider monkey's ADD nightmare. I'm not sure what else I can say. I understand the concept, but think it could be improved by lumping the smaller bits together in kind of a commercial break style between longer periods of Doc and Dave discussing games, more like a normal radio show. Otherwise, keep up the good work, gentlemen.

I thought it was amusing. I’ll listen to it every week to make work go by. But it seems to have lost it’s ‘necessity’ status. I HAD to listen to the Red show. To put it in simpler terms, the red show was silly, yet informative concerning the gaming community. SG Radio show is just silly, not informative.
As ground breaking and unique this show is, I don’t see you guys being able to keep it up on a weekly basis. I say that because it seems a lot of preparation and work went into making just this one episode.(probably more so than the red show saw every week).
So I guess I’m interested in seeing how this show will continue to move forward.

Props for the hard work and devotion you guys put into it.

Okay, i know you've all been waiting for my opinions () so here they are:

Starting with the negative:
As someone else pointed out, it does sound a little bit hectic, too much going on with too many jingles, sounds, beats and raves. Plus, i'm not really a fan of the 15 seconds of fame. I didn't find any of them funny at least, plus there were too many of them. Maybe 2 per podcasts at the most.
I don't think you devote enough time to each section, it seems too rushed in places. I for one, enjoyed the longer debates and arguments that you had in the red show.
Will all the episodes be around that length? I think they should be abit longer, around 35-45 minutes would be better in my opinion.
And my main concern: No Martini Time?! I know you'll say it wont work without Lono, or that your trying to move away from the red show format but that was one of the highlights of each show. Always hilarious and random.

The positives:
Dave and Doc you both sound more comfortable and at ease, maybe it's because your talking about subjects that you both have knowledge and an opinion on, or maybe it's because your not being flamed by Lono constantly. Your both pretty funny together as well, a very good partnership.
Brilliant production values and editing, the podcasts sounds incredibly professional and well put together.
The opening song was fantastic.
I like how your involving the community more, seems like a nice gesture to your fans.
Loving the weird Australian-English sounding Sony spokesman.
The new logo is fantastic!

I'm planning on devoting the next 24 hours to thinking of 15 seconds of good material. Although, knowing me it'll take about a week to think of anything funny...

good episodes maybe when talking turn down the backround music. it was great show
two things:

1) can i send in multiple clips and you can choose which one is better? for whenever it may go on(i want to try different jokes)
2) why does Paul Christie sound so much like Doyle Reland from The Onion?

I never thought I would ever say this, but Doc, try to be a little more like Dave.

gotta love copypasta Great show guys!

Overall I liked the show. Well done guys

The only real criticism I have is that it felt just a little too all over the place. Reducing the number of segments a bit and maybe fleshing some bits out a bit more would be great.

It was still great guys, keep up the good work :)

I can tell Doc and Dave put a lot into this. The show was superbly edited and some of the bits were actually pretty funny. I know this isnt trying to be the "next Red Show," but at time this show seemed to be completely out of the blue. While it was entertaining, I didn't really get any gaming knowledge out of it. I hope in the future the shows can involve some intelligent gaming conversations that I can really value instead of just 30 second comedy sound bits. The community 15secs of fame was a good idea, but I think the members should send in questions not random blabber. Thankyou for reading, please understand that these are my thoughts cause I nkow some of you loved the new format, I'm just saying there is substantial room for improvement.

After listening again, I have a few things to say:

The show is a tad chaotic, and comes across to me as being a novelty...or "gimmicky", for lack of a better word. I'd like it if you would cut back on the quantity of random breaks and focus more on either talking or having just a few quality commercial segments. If it keeps going like this, I don't know how long it'll hold its appeal.

Still a decent show, great job for show #1!

It's like you guys took all the joke things you would do on occasion in the Red show and made a full show of them!!!! (Incidently, I still have a hard time driving and listening to the 12 days of Lono... I laugh to damn hard... I have a feeling this show could become the same way).

First off, i'd just like to say that the previous 30 minutes of my life was the best waste of time i've had in a long time. :)

However, as other posters have pointed out, it is hectic. Either make the show longer or get rid of a few of the forty-thousand jingles littered around the show.

I'm saddened at the departure of "Dave take us out" and "martini time", I'd put up with listening to the first 27 minutes just to hear the last 3 minutes of each show. :P
a Red show without 'Dave take us out' and 'Martini time' is like a SG t-shirt without the :| logo, sure it does the job, but it just doesn't have that 'Omgz0rz this is liek epiks!!!' feel to it. :(

I loved the non stop production value of the show. There were bits and sing alongs all through the show, and i loved every one of em. With that said, is it safe to assume that not all episodes are going to be that packed with "bits" and "songs"?? Were these things made only to start the new show with a bang?? Consistency of this awesomeness would make this show damn near untouchable. Good job guys.

I actually really liked the fancy editing and all the sounddrops, they gave a unique flare to the podcast that is unlike any other out there. I can understand though that it takes a lot of time to arrange them so I will not be disappointed if you don't keep doing it each week.

Another point I wanted to make is that I have listened to all the shows going back to ep.1 and this show felt more true to the roots than the ep 80 of the SG podcast. Not a news show of any sorts, Just guys talking about gaming with laid back attitude.

I made a comment in the thread on the main page but wanted to echo my thoughts here as well. I have mixed feelings regarding the new show, its good but needs something/changes in order to be great. No doubt that will happen as you guys figure out what will work and what won't.

My one complaint is you seemed to transition a little too fast, just felt interrupted. Despite this being Sarcastic which you guys totally captured it is also Gamer which may need a bit more tweaking.

Although for the first episode it was good, keep on keeping on.

Sarcastic Gamer used to be the best show in the GCN.

Now it blew them all away.

About SGR #1.

We make no apologies about this show, as I know Dave and I left it all on the field. We re did the show at the last minute, restructured it, recut bits, added stuff, killed stuff and spent about 18-20 manhours editing that 30 minutes into something that we are proud of.

And we are proud of this show. I am proud of Dave.

Moving forward, we look forward to even more community involvement including protecting the things that people like about the show, and trying to add in things for which there is an overwhelmingly expressed need.

I can't promise episode 2 will make everyone pee their pants, but I can promise you that Dave and I are VERY excited about SG Radio and look forward to growing it into something you guys are excited about too.

In other news, many of you have asked about how we will keep up the pace with so much in the show.

For now... the Humpday Update is going to be on Hiatus so that we can concentrate on SG Radio. As the little brother to the Red Show, HUD was always a mini Red Show. Once we've established what HUD will be, and who it will involve, it will make its way back, again with a fresh coat of paint.

This frees up more time for us to work on putting these shows together...

Until then, I invite you guys to all sit back, relax, enjoy the free entertainment, and see just how hard we're willing to work for one of the greatest communities on the planet.

We make these shows for you.... not just the people that love them, but the people that WANT to love them too.

Thank you... everyone. keep your ideas and thoughts coming.

I realy enjoy this no holds bar kind of thing you have going on! and I enjoyed the fast pace that was going on. It felt like it was over before I began, which is something I know alot of women face. But I'll keep coming back, maybe if you add another 10 mins. I'll go over the edge.

Thanks for not f'cking it up guys and making this a great show! Heres hoping to you keeping up the pace for many more shows to come!!!

The shows encouraged me to post more in the forums...so hi guys!
Really liked this first episode. The only suggestion I would make, which is what most people said here, is to make it a bit longer as it does seem a bit rushed. Other than that I thought it was fantastic.
However I'm worried about one thing - Will being a variety/radio type show and reducing the gaming discussion hurt your chances of being invited to major gaming events? Don't get me wrong, I know it's only the first episode and things will probably change, but I've always been a fan of your event coverage and it will be a shame if that has to be sacrificed.
Either way keep up the good work guys! Look forward to more in the future!

I'm liking this show better than the old SG podcasts big time. Way more production value, the commercials and editing were great and the banter was just the right kind of stupid for my taste. Epic win in my book.

I just think it feels more like a “SARCASTIC GAMER” podcast.

Doing something different doesn’t hurt at all, most of the time it actually pays offs. It felt like they went back to their roots. We’re on sarcastic gamer, that’s the kind of show we want. Of course the red show was still very fun to listen to… but here’s what I think could be done: You guys should get rid of the humpday update and record a whole new podcast… the green show. Why not? Both Doc and Dave have Xboxes and most of the red show was about the Xbox! Just find a third host and start the green show. It would be fun.

Just keep the SGR show as-is, some people just need some time to get used to it. It was amazing. And with the amount of content that was in it, I wonder if you guys are going to be able to give us this level of quality every week O_O

Let me just say I missed lono... until about 5 seconds into the show when I realized this was pretty damn entertaining. I can't say I've enjoyed the music this much since the "12 days of lono". The whole show looks like it will be great, I just hope variety show means, gaming variety show...

My biggest criticism was that at some points the background music seemed a little loud, but I could just be a grumpy old man, or maybe I was working too hard and not paying enough attention. Overall, I loved it and it seems that the whole community is reacting in a positive way, congratulations. I'm looking forward to the next episode, so don't screw it up.

I thought it was good... but it lacked the slight seriousness of the old podcast. I just didn't find it to be a good replacement for the "old" podcast. I liked how it was like a radio show, and it was funny at times, but there was no real discussion or anything. I listened to the latest Pink show after, and I'd say I liked it more. It's just that the classic SG feel that I came to love... has vanished now. It used to feel "homemade." It was just some friends getting together to talk about video games and have some laughs along the way. But now... I dunno, it just feels really hollow.

I have to agree to a point with FlamingBrad. It was awesome, and funny, but felt scattered and without focus, like the whole show had ADHD. I'm one who likes in-depth discussion on games and the gaming sub-culture in general, and for my tastes, there just wasn't enough of that.

Still, good show. I give it 6 pills of E out of 10.

Well I liked the new show, it reminded me of the first SG Red show Podcast when no one was sure how things would work out, but after 81 shows (not counting the bonuses. like QUAKECON) the Podcast became a success. Things change and most people hate change, myself included, but DOC & DAVE did it once, I am sure they will do it again. DOC, DAVE, I salute you ……..HOOAH!!!!

Sigh... hope next week is better... you went from 5 star to... well, 2 star.

Dave the Musical was ridiculously funny, and I think you should take some elements of this and make it a little more informative. I think that the Humpday Update should be like this, and leave the main show for the more informative, yet funny content.

Really though, I am just scared that your show will become (and now is) 75% sound clips. We do not have that style of radio station here, and I do not really care for it.

But I must say that I am glad to hear the return of Sarcastic Gamer News.

Also, "Sarcastic Gamer Radio"? Seriously? Does that mean that Blu and Pink are now Pink Radio and Blu Radio? That just sounds stoopid.

But still, I know it is your first try at the new format, and it definitely shows how much work you have put into it, so finally I say 4 stars for effort, 2 stars for content.

I am sorry... I really want to like this.

I do miss the old format though. I love the community focus, but there are too many breaks. As interesting as Dave: The Musical is, I'd rather have some more talk about games, as that is what I originally was attracted to the show for.

And negative points for taking out Dave take us out AND Martini Time...shame...

Ok I'm going to give you a little constructive criticism.

The show wasn't as good as the red show (obviously). It was only your first one and It will obviously get better with time. One thing I thought you could look into was longer segments. I felt like it was changing too often. You guys would talk for maybe a minute then there would be another 15 seconds of fame(which is a great idea by the way). I just think you could have longer discussions is all.

I just listened to it yesterday and about the only things I can remember were the two fake commercials you did and the very end of the show because those were the funny parts.

A few questions:
1)Are the dave take us outs gone? or are you saving that for the orange show.
2)Will there still be an orange show? will it still be the same as it used to be?-I think this would give a good mix between extremely silly and actual game talk-

I will still listen to the show, but I think this has lost a little bit of it's appeal.

that show was much better than i thought it would be. honestly i thought SG would die without lono. it was wise to start anew but i would have liked to see the Red show go to 100 episodes (not including HDUDs) i am not sure if another host would be a good thing or not. i really like the small segments, very funny. i was starting to get bored of the red show but this new form of a podcast has resparked my love for all things sarcastic and gaming

i also enjoy the SGC 15 seconds part. you will be hearing from me soon enough

I'm not being too hard on it. If anything you guys are being too easy. You can't just write it off as the best thing ever from the first episode.

Two reasons: 1)It's not better than the old red show. Not by a long shot(yet).
2)It was just the first episode. Not necessarily are these gonna be all the same caliber.

I expect the next show to be better and I intend on listening to it and giving it a chance. Just like I did with the pink show even though I no longer listen to it.

i also agree with this. i thought it to be hilarious and i loved the short segments (unlike zinc) so it is clear that this new show apples to some people more than others and that there is almost no middle ground.

my biggest complaint is the lack of an ending

I can't see there being an orange show any more, this new format clearly takes a lot more work to prepare. The short segments That I am talking about are the ones where they talk to each other. I like the commercials and the other silly things they do I just think that their talk needs to be longer is all. I can understand if they don't have anything left to say about a topic, but go a little more in depth in the topic itself.

I also didn't like the music that started playing near the end of their discussion. I mean It's fine if it doesn't last so long. You should make it a little more short.

Well, i've made basically no posts in this forum, no one will probably listen to what i have to say but meh.

I listened to the new show, and stopped listening round about the socks part, i got a feeling that if you wasn't part of the community in the forums then there was basically no point in listening anymore. Neighbour who is also a gamer who isn't registered on the forum done the same thing, unsubscribed cause he didn't know what was going on with all the references to the "community".

Two folks, one not a part of the forum wqho listens to the podcast cause of the word "GAMER" in it, and me, I registered on the forum but don't have the time to embedd myself into the forum community...both unsubbed.

The red show should never have closed dopwn, you should have simply got a 3rd host in, instead the majority of the folks listening on ITUNES will probably feel for the first half of the new show that they are not a part of the "community" and just wont listen.

Now...i'm probably gonna get flamed for this, and quite frankly i don't care, i'll just find another podcast to listen to...and there's probably a LOT more of the silent ITUNES majority who are either thinking of doing the same thing...or have already done it.

I believe your point is valid, but you cannot just re-start a show you've stopped.

I think that most of the community members came here cause they liked the show, but if the listeners no longer get the show what would be their point in listening. I think the flow to the site will be wors and so will the subscribers to the show itself.

Edit: I myself will not stop listening though.

Having been with you guys since episode one, I must admit the red show was getting tired as a format with lengthy rants and discussion and not the vibrancy of earlier shows. Yet i was still reticent about the new format, especially since some of the comments posted here were not favourable. However, my worries soon disappeared within the first minute, it was like being back in the early days, the SARCASM was back in Sarcastic Gamer and Paul Christy made a welcome return. At this rate even Superslick might appear next week.

My only recommondation, dont forget your name, Sarcastic 'GAMER'; try to keep as much of the subject matter on gaming as possible, and consider a third person on the team or even a guest at times as it gives you a wider opportunity for banter. It worked previously and does on SG Blu/Pink.

As ever loving your work!!!! again!!!!

i see you folks are worse than those comic fanboys who hate on a movie cuz it is not exactly the same as the comic! give them a brake, they did an awesome show. this is not trying to be the red show. the red show is dead ok. this is something new and fresh that you people must accept, and ye it dos not have lono and the same repetitive background music they have used in ALL of the freaking red shows. if you listen in the start they make fun of themselves for using that music, (i think) so lets welcome SG radio whit open arms folk's cuz you have to live whit it, so why not like it? and admit it, it is 10 times bather than the latest episodes of the red show xD

Your such a hypocrite, just a few day ago you were crying about Lono leaving, saying that he made SG and it'll never be the same without him.

I'm going to echo the statement of somebody else and say that they should put Sarcastic Gamer Radio in the place of The Orange show and then make the Red Show back to the way it was. I'm going to repeat that I don't like the constant jumping around and I don't like the fact that what attracted me to the show in the first place is gone...opinions on games and various stories from funny guys that I have come to respect the opinion of. That's sort of gone.

As much as we joke about the fact that you guys are XBots and that your show is the XBox show...I think it has become more apparent that we don't have a lot of news on the XBox side anymore. I have a feeling that you can pull off the Red Show if you get another host (Supa, anyone?). Keep Martini Time, keep Dave take us out, and DEFINITELY keep Paul Christy.
SG Radio didn't keep my attention very long, but the Red Show did, which is why 15 minutes on Wednesday would be perfect for all the silly stuff and 15 seconds of fame and the Red Show should come back (I don't know how many times I should say this, but I'll do it some more)

the Red Show should come back
the Red Show should come back
the Red Show should come back
the Red Show should come back
the Red Show should come back
the Red Show should come back
the Red Show should come back
the Red Show should come back

THE AWFUL TRUTH!

It's WHACKY! It's ZANEY! It's completely cheesy and miles away from a video game podcast. I'm going to be brutally honest here; the show has been going down-hill for a long time now. Loosing Lono only sealed the deal. It’s collapse (this is going to sound cruel) began a while back when Doc was running a charity event and basically turned every show for the span of 2 months into a half hour commercial for it. I wasn't bothered by that at the time, but it seems that after he realized he could get away with it, the show became nothing but advertisements and bloating about other third parties. After giving it another listen over, I have come to the conclusion that well, it kinda sucks. The new direction is just wrong. The tidbit style or talking about one subject for a minute then another followed by a stupid plug for t shirts. And I agree that it's less about the video games and more about the site. You don't see IGN or Destructoid do that. I really respect you guys, but this isn't as good as it used to be. I don't know why you didn't just get someone to fill Lono's seat.

Or just do all this for Humpday. Or just do it as a seperate show. Like SGCcast.

THE AWFUL TRUTH!

It's WHACKY! It's ZANEY!

Hello AssWipe2009, and welcome to the real internet. I'll spare you some trouble and send you here.(4chan.org)

It's completely cheesy and miles away from a video game podcast.

I would proceed to send you to episodes 1-15, but they're gone.

True, why do something for other people, and draw some attention to your site? And speaking of the site, it costs money to channel the traffic SG gets, and all they have besides the store is Adsense. If you want to be able to come onto the forums and paste your shitpile iTunes review, they need money for the hosting.

I don't care how much your t-shirts and mouse pads cost, how about you talk about video games? Let's talk about something else besides 3 month old Xbox 360 games and stupid free flash games on your iPod. Compared to other gaming podcast, Sarcastic Gamer consist of 15% information, 40% merch/website hit vending, and 45% unfunny chitter-chatter full of immature name calling (you guys sound like 8 year old kids on a playground).

You're not the only person who can pull percentages out of their ass, AssWipe2009, you're 1000% wrong. They talk about what they want. They do what they want. They aren't paid to be stuck up assholes you listen to. They have jobs not related to this podcast. They don't go home or go to work expecting a free game waiting for them. If your podcast is so much more badass, be sure to pass on a link.

Also, I don't care about what your listeners are talking about or doing on your forums, or you damn number of Twitter followers, let’s leave that crap on the internet and out of the show.

If you don't care that they care about listeners, you have a serious problem.

Now, onto this new, horrendous format. I'm going to assume that within 3 weeks Doc and Dave will be referring to themselves as The Wiener & The Butt, or Double D & The Bear! Something REALLY corny, because this podcast has turned into a stupid morning zoo show. Am I wrong?

Yes, you are. Care to stay and listen why? Unlikely.

Stupid parody songs: CHECK.
Welcome to SarcasticGamer.com! Home of the parody of tens of thousands of downloads and millions of hits on YouTube!

5,000 Sound Effects: CHECK. Self promoting in show commercials: CHECK. All we need are some stupid sticker giveaways, and a catch phrase and it will be a downloadable AM/FM show. The whole reason I once loved this podcast was because it was 3 gamers talking about video games and video game news, it's not that anymore and hasn't been for quite sometime.

It was and still is about gamers and what they like, and if it isn't all games all time, get over it, wait it out, or leave. The show has always been community based, but now they're turning to us to fuel the site as well. This is something Doc truly believes in devoting himself to, and we owe it to him and all staff members of the site to give back some time, talent, and even money if we really care too.

Podcasts usually exist to be a form of straight forward, commercial free entertainment, not WHACKY & ZANEY TALK RADIO! Which, unfortunately, this podcast is now. I feel sorry for these guys, their “community”, and all you poor bastards that actually enjoy this new format. I feel sorry for you enjoying the pre-determined bullshit from these SELF-PROMOTING podcasters, AssWipe. SarcasticGamer, LLC, and all of its properties, will NOT be going anywhere, will NOT fall of the radar, and will NOT be disappearing anytime soon, and if it comes down to it, I WILL personally assure you that, AssWipe2009. I'm sorry you feel that I'm a "poor bastard" for following this podcast almost since day one, and that I've invested at least 30 minutes for all of my last 90 weeks for the purpose of watching this site bloom into what it is.

You know what? I like this. Wednesday for goofiness and SG Radio (in a shorter dose), and we get something that more closely resembles the Red show on Mondays. It's not like it's much different than Dave is used to editing, what with the Red show AND HDUD like before.

I sort of lost interest in the show about the halfway mark (I listened to the rest of it for the sake of forming an opinion. God knows I love soup), so 15 minutes would be a perfect amount of time...all you need for the red show is someone in the form of a Supaslick or a Drew (or maybe someone else if wither is not possible) and Paul Christy and you've got your mojo back.

Please Doc! Do it for the kids!

DownWithKotaku, while flaming is always encouraged,

Backlash has some legitimate points.

1. The constant sound bytes and changing topic needs to change.

2. By turning inward towards the community, they have effectively cut off all new listeners as well as all the listeners who might not want to join the forums.

Their incentive to join the forums is to become old and wise like you, hence getting a mention on the show.

On a serious note, it seems like you said "By turning towards the community, it's cutting off people who haven't joined the community." It seems to me that that would be an incentive to join the community.

2. They need start back from square one. Doc's been talking about going back to at least community-driven podcasting for awhile. This is definitely a step in that direction.

1. To each their own I guess. I just preferred when they talked about one topic for longer than like 5 minutes

2. This is not an SGCP. This is the flagship podcast for the site. This is something that a ton of people who are not in the community listen to, and by turning their back on everyone not in the community, people will stop listening and as a result the forums will slow down.

Besides, The old episodes were never this community driven. They were two funny guys talking about video-game related things, and that's what everyone wants.

This show has some of that, but its hard to see with all the glitter they put on top.

Is this like the time when now its cool to bitch and moan and everybody follows the band wagon of bs?
...
Well, my take, again, on all this. This podcast is not made by people who GET PAID TO PLAY GAMES, this is just from a couple of guys who enjoy gaming. Both WORK ON THE RADIO (or at least i think they do, or something like that, i dont want to get into stalker mode) and they BRING YOU ENTERTAINMENT FOR FREE...
Having that said, what did people expect? We were all sadened that Lono left, and it quite awoke an outrage between mods and members (cough-rothbart-cough) between the compromise of a podcaster that depends on his community, and quite letting the community down in a second....

Hold the tomatoes.

They just tried to make the show FUN. Its related to gaming, yes. If i want to get gaming info i read blogs, if i want satire and ENTERTAINMENT I find it here, and i love it.

Even though this post will flow like water down the drain, here, my opinion.

Not a fan of the new format. I could listen to the Red Show at work because it had a nice pace to it. This one feels rushed with cheap effects to fill in the lack of solid content. First Achievement Junkie goes away and now SG is all but dead to me. Are there other GOOD gamer podcasts for news and info on gaming? I listen to Video Gamew Show, but they're to WoW what OXM is to Rock Band and Guitar Hero. sigh.

Hold on there. Don't give me the "they don't get paid to do it, so be greatful for it" excuse. These guys have put out great podcasts, and there's no reason that this new can't be just as goo, if not better.

Do you know how that happens? Not by everybody saying nothing but praise, but by people saying what's wrong with it so it can change.

Sure some people are blunt, but if they didnakt care about the show, thwn they wouldn't have registered to give their two cents.

I don't think anyone has a problem with negative feedback, in fact it can only help these guys plan for what tweaks they may want to make to the show etc.

It is when people like backlash start harping on the community at SG as well rather than just constructively focusing on what he doesn't like about the new show.

I became part of the community because their podcast and humor were unique and I am entertained by their show. I can hang around N4G or Kotaku if I want (all) gaming news. Otherwise I have always enjoyed the blend of satire and random funniness from these guys. The new show is no exception from that and I am sure that they will settle into their groove as time goes on.

Yeah, I guess my critique was a little harsh. It’s just that SG was perfect! I must be having Lono separation anxiety. The other podcasts I now listen to are WAY too long. Rebel FM and the Xbox 360 Fancast can run two hours. Man, that takes commitment. Oh well…

You hit the nail on the head Lesley. This is merely the first step. This show will continue to improve as Doc and Dave refine it. If you have an opinion, be it positive or negative, share it.The only way this show is going to improve is if the community provides feedback. Doc and Dave have been open to suggestions, so don't be afraid to speak up. However, don't abandon the show just yet. It might be different than what you have come to expect, but the passion is there.

In Response to “Six Days in Fallujah”:

Back in 2004, I was in Samarrah, Iraq during some street-to-street fighting with Saddam Fedayeen. Seven months later, when I was safely in Mosul, a company commander buddy of mine who was involved in fighting around the Golden mosque region of the city was somehow contacted by a developer, and they ended up creating a video game level from it.

The Kumawar.com brand was an innovative series that involved taking real world Department of Defense shootouts and turning them into first person shooter levels, from WWII to I THINK even a recreation of a hostage rescue operations.

When the game eventually came out…well, let’s say it was a bit of a hyperbole. A bunch of guys in black pajamas running around with RPGs, taking kids as hostages and human shields. A little over the top, to say the least, especially having seen the real deal. But the price was right (FREE), and it was the thought that counted.

That being said, I was personally excited to hear that the game was being made, and I was bummed that I was not interviewed for it.

I get the feeling that as long as the game is done tastefully, maybe following a Marine fire team’s storyline (see also: Band of Brothers series), I think those boys on the ground out there will be stoked. I mean, think of the average age of a Marine infantry lance corporal, what, 20-21? I think that if you told them that their squad of shooters was going to be featured in a video game, you’d be hard pressed to find a group of indignant or insulted Marines.

No offense to you Lesley, but this needed to be said.

Stop posting this please. It's been said a million times by other people including me.

Also to help stopping that people should stop "bitching and moaning"(as was previously stated) unless they wish to make the show better by saying something that might be considered useful in bettering the podcast.

It's not the well-oiled machine that was the red show but it'll get into a grove.(sorry just contradicted myself, but I'll try not to say it too)

I do like the Idea of putting this in the place(or making it) the HDUD and replacing Lono on the Red show.

Finally I shall restate the fact that you should not post that it will get better that's obvious and you should just post stuff that you think will help the podcast be better.

On the contrary I want people to give their opinion. I don't think this show is up to snuff and some other people don't so It would be a good Idea to say what they don't like.

I just want the arguing to stop and I want opinions to flow.

I don't want to see stuff like "I hate this show It &$#%ing sucks. I'ma stop listening.....(10 more paragraphs of "bitching and moaning")" because it isn't helping.

If you liked the show great you've got nothing else to say (unless you didn't like a specific part) go on your way, but if you didn't like the show suggest stuff to make this better. This thread could be much more orderly.

Whoops, sorry lads. I will repost in the right forum.

Anyway, long time listener, first time poster and all of that.

As for the episode, I think the only criticism that I had was that I felt the comedy bits were a bit forced at points. I may be new to the forums, but I've listened to most of the podcasts, and some of the best material comes unscripted and off the cuff.

Hey, no sweat. You two will figure it out, come up with your flow and pacing, and boom, a few shows later, people will be asking, "Lono who?"

Keep up the fire, boys, and thanks for doing what you do.

PS. Thanks for the shout out, Striker.

I hate this... Sorry guys, but I found this to be boring... there needs to be some form of conversation...

You had funny jokes... but it's just...

Sounds great and everything, it was just a let down... I didn't hold my breath... because if I had... I wouldn't be breathing right now...

COME BACK LONO!!!

No offense to you Lesley, but this needed to be said.

Stop posting this please. It's been said a million times by other people including me.

Finally I shall restate the fact that you should not post that it will get better that's obvious and you should just post stuff that you think will help the podcast be better.

gee thanks zinc, you really felt the need to put her in her place eh?
