Quick slice of news here for you and all I can say is this: so much for the analysts. Earlier this week it was predicted that GTA Chinatown Wars sold anything from 100k to 200k (http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=23172) units in its first month of sale - that’d be March then - in the States to the, um, rejoice (http://sarcasticgamer.com/wp/index.php/2009/04/mature-nintendo-games-hate-to-say-i-told-you-so.html) of older Nintendo gamers everywhere.

Actual figure? Chances are you’ve read the title, but skip on over the jump anyway for a tiddly bit more info, and to comment on what the sales mean.

So then, 90k units. 88,704 to be precise. In one month. As I said earlier this week, that’s nothing compared to sales of GTA IV in its first five days, even if the latter is a multiformat title.

What’s it saying about the future of “grown-up” games on Nintendo consoles? Not much; probably that it’s not there! What d’you think, now that figures are in? Am I right, or am I left?

This is really something that shows what much of the DS's core audience is... "casual" (ugh) gamers who don't like this stuff, or aren't old enough to buy it. I have it, and it's a great game, but I wish they'd gotten it out there more...
