View Full Version : trading in a wii?
Sniper 11-22-2007, 02:08 PM i have a wii, and to tell you the truth im not satisfied. yeah its a special console and all but i find that i cant sit down and play it for more than a half hour. And i did not realise this before but i like to be cloce to the screen, but with the sensor bar i have to stand at the other side of the room to play properly but then i cant see. you might be thinking, "why would this guy get a wii then?" but i got it as a gift. over all my question is how much do you think i could get out of a Wii,wii sports, wii play,2 wii motes,2 wii nunchucks,5 of those nintendo grip things (the wii came with one and i ordered 4 online) and metorid prime 3 corruption? note: i also have all the packaging still and i got it in the biggining of november. im hoping to get a Xbox 360 and i know it might not pay for all of it but hopefully it will be cloce.
Mikey 11-22-2007, 02:23 PM My advice: Dont do it, from the games you listed, it seems as though you havent even played the good games. If you do get rid of it, sell on ebay or craigslist. You'll get more money. You'll get >$200 if you trade at game store.
Sniper 11-22-2007, 03:20 PM i have asked for some games from the upcomming holidays so maby ill get something good. i looked at the Battalion wars 2 game and that seems fun. i think ill wait untill super smash bros brawl. by then i will know if i wish to keep it or not (i would use ebay or craigslist, i would never give it up to gamestop). by the way, do you know of any wii games that are a must get?

Yeah chances are you'll get more if your sold it on Craigslist or eBay.
We'll I was in the same place you are in Sniper. I traded in my stock Wii (No games other then Wii Sports) at GS and got $190 in store credit for it. That was with a extra 10 or 20 in store credit too. Chances are with the stuff you have you may be able to get enough in store credit to get the 360 Arcade. Now I dont work at GS so thats just a rough estimate.
BTW I got a DS with my money.
VenomousDuck 11-22-2007, 03:44 PM Super Mario Galaxy for sure. It alone is worth the price of a Wii. Resident Evil 4, if you have played it yet. It was only $30 the last time I checked. I've heard that Scarface is good, but I haven't played it.
Mikey 11-22-2007, 05:07 PM Games to try...
Batallion Wars 2 (Buy)
Fire Emblem
Metroid Prime 3 (Buy)
Mario Galaxy (Buy)
Excite Truck
Mario Strikers Charged
Super Paper Mario
Resident Evil 4
Scarface
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
Medal of Honor Heroes 2
Godfather
Sonic And the Secret Rings
Zack and Wiki (Buy)
SSX Blue
All these, IMO are worth a rent atleast. Some are worth the purchase.
Sniper 11-22-2007, 05:15 PM ok ill keep those games in mind.
Millakilla 11-22-2007, 05:45 PM If you dont have one and have the money i would buy a 360, well thats what im going to do and keeping my wii as a secondary machine to use and abuse when i have mates over.Other than driver (which sucks) i only have wii sports which i think i may have played for a couple of hours a day for the first few months, so even if you dont get any other games stick with wii sports it never gets old(just very very very very very very very repetitive) lol
SWSilentkiller 11-22-2007, 06:03 PM I have a solution to your sensor bar problem, go into the wii menu and fix the sensitivity then you should be able to play up close
Amathev 11-22-2007, 06:08 PM Sold my Wii for a 360.
Definitely a good move.

Shh Mikey might hear you :D
I have all 3 consoles btw.
Sniper 11-22-2007, 07:26 PM i think i might look into used wii games (if i can find any). i might as well save some cash if im gona buy a game i might not like. but then again if they cost almost as much as the new game ill just get the new one.
Mikey 11-22-2007, 07:33 PM Rent the game, and if you dont like it, you never have to look at it again. And you only payed $5-7 for it.
Sniper 11-22-2007, 09:39 PM Rent the game, and if you dont like it, you never have to look at it again. And you only payed $5-7 for it.
Rent the game from a store like game stop? or some different service?
Mikey 11-22-2007, 09:45 PM Different place, you cant rent at Gamestop. Use Gamefly or Movie Gallery, or Blockbuster.
