I'm extremely prideful of my country and I don't like when it gets slammed. To a few of the comments about Americans made on this thread: I use stereotypes, but it's just for fun I find them extremely funny and people can tell I'm joking. I'm not fat and most of the people I know aren't fat(which is a stereotype so there) you're thinking of mostly the adults. I honestly can't tell the difference between anyone in the UK except for their accent(I'm like that with Hispanics as well just can't tell the difference. We are in debt and we are dependent on cars and oil, but we're also a much bigger country that has bigger needs than a smaller country(in terms of population) and being a bigger country(in size) we've got to have a way of getting places so we use cars the best transportation we have and they run on oil. I have friends in England and Scotland and they seem fine to me so I've got no complaints with you. The teeth thing is a funny stereotype though. Matt 05-01-2009, 02:27 PM Who ever rates UK food in the top cuisine brackets of the world....other than folks from the UK? It usually goes French, Italian, Indian, Japanese. I've heard they're quite tasty and have an extra little treat for you too! You only get the swine flu from the pig when it is alive. They've got to go through a cleaning system when they are slaughtered so pork products won't give you swine flu. Matt 05-01-2009, 04:11 PM can't get it from eating pork.... Its not that he's wrong, its just that he doesnt know, cause its far away and thats information he doesnt need to know, nor care about. Rant start. I'm sorry but if you want to open this up then its on. The Usa is like a big bully who has to make fun of other people just because no other country likes them and they have no friends. I have never heard this saying or whatever before but apparently you have checked everyone's teeth in the uk so i'll take your word for it, idiot. Before you make fun of someone else remember also that you, Usa is the fat kid on the planet who is seen as the stupid one who is almost single handedly destroying the earth if not with thousands of mis-guided missiles then with it's pollution ( or as i call it really bad smell ). U r also known among many gamers as the worst people to play online with because you continue to be racist or sexist or just unsportsmanly. This ofcourse doesn't count for every American. If truthful then i know some very nice people from Usa but it is people like you who let ur side down. You are very arrogant and because i'm from China ( panda,i thought i may have to spell it out for you ) i will enjoy watching you tremble with fear at our greatness. Oh and in my view Canada outshines you easy And for the record there is nothing wrong with my teeth. To: Friends, nice people, good gamers and people who i have spoke to from Sg who are from Usa Please understand that this is not a true reflection on you or your country but only one that i feel is being shoved in front of my face by the select few that let your, i'm sure great country down. Hope the nice people understand me Rant over b**** Im not "opening up" anything except that Im ****ing tired of the "things america gets wrong" threads. So it won't matter what we call you you people all come from the same place and we don't have to specify if you're from a little part of it (england, scotland, ireland, whales , other) and you cannot give us crap about that anymore . No. Scotland and Wales have their own parliaments. England doesn't have a specific parliament purely for itself. We have the Houses of Parliaments (made up of the House of Commons (the MPs, elected by the people) and the House of Lords (made up of various chinless wonders in there by hereditary right, sort of like the Kennedys... and those that governments have made into Lords and given voting rights). The Lords ratify the statutes put forward by the Commons) And Ireland isn't part of the United Kingdom. Northern Ireland is. Totally different thing. Officer Mudkip 05-02-2009, 04:57 AM As an Irishman, I am having a good read. Try not to get so angry you guys. MightMutt's threads were just poking fun, but this one is kinda starting the arguements. and Killgraft. Whodini1 05-02-2009, 06:15 AM The people of the united kingdom and northern ireland voted for him therfore he is elected by the british people and serves the needs of th government of the united kingdom Actually we didn't vote for Gordon Brown, or indeed Tony Blair for that matter. We vote for a representative for our constituency. Whichever party wins the most constituency votes, gets to form a government (technically they are invited to form a government by the Queen), led by whoever that party has voted for as their leader. That some people who don't know how the system works (on both sides of the atlantic), thought they were voting for Blair is irrelevant, they weren't voting for Blair. At the time of the last election Blair was the Leader of the Labour Party, and serving Prime Minister. Partway through his term as PM he decided he'd had enough and stood down.
