Ok the Magic just finished off the favored Cavaliers
and the Lakers beat out the Nuggets last night.

Now time for the big question who are you going to rout for in the Finals?
Lakers or Magic?

As anyone that follows me on twitter will know I'm a life long die hard Laker fan so you all know who I'm backing.

Although I could less about either teams, I'm going for the Magic. They're going to throw down some magic against the Lakers! "Alakazamionship!"

Lakers, even I wanted the Cavs to be in it the Magic just don't match up well with the Lakers. Bynum is gonna kill Howard on the board, no one can stop 24, and Lewis is not gonna be much shots up with Gasol taking him down. The bench is a major factor of the game and the Lakers do have the best bench in the league. Lakers FTW

I will have to go with the Orlando Magic. The lakers is still a one man team & they went against much easier competition in the playoffs than the Magic did. I do feel bad for the Cavs though. It is even more clear now that Lebron needs some serious help on his team. Nearly all of his team mates are god awful & sad to watch sometimes.

As a side stat, the Magic & Lakers played twice this season & the Magic won both games.

I wouldn't say all of his supporting cast is bad, could it be better, yes. These playoffs have been awkward, Cavs looked unstoppable earlier and the Lakers looked exposed. As for the Magic they were down to the Sixers but just got hot.

I didn't think the Cavs would have won the Finals anyway.

Who I want to win and who I think will win are two different teams. I think the Lakers will win.

No! Keep your hands up because im arresting you for being an idiot.

You know, people actually using tactics, strategy, and the occasional white boy not getting nuts slammed into his mouth as he is getting dunked on. What kind of basketball are you watching that involves balls slamming in mouths??? Anyway Collage basketball is more of a run around in circles and pass the ball till someone on the other team blacks out so you can get an open shot. There are 7 total white boys on the teams that are playing of course thats out of 23 total.

One man team? If anything they are a two man team(Kobe and Pau) just like any other team in the NBA and the Magic(Howard and Turkoglu). So you think that the 76ers, Celtics, and Cavs are better teams than the Jazz, Rockets, and Nuggets? Not so much Id say.

college basketball doesn't have any middle-aged men trudging along the court. you also usually see 10 people on the court at a time who are all trying. i don't think i've ever seen that in an NBA game. :p

Have you watched the playoffs? It may sound weird but NBA players know when to hustle and when not to like for a rebound in collage everyone sprints for it but only one or two even have a chance to get it. In the NBA they just know if they can or not. Thats why they are pros they have basketball smarts.

Or could it be more of a "hmmm whether or not I bust my ass to get this ball and possibly blow out a knee, or sit back, let someone else do it, and still get ****ing PAID!"

Yea, thats why college kids kill themselves. Because every moment counts and could be the difference between getting into the NBA, or having to get a crappy job for life.

absolutely. that's 100% correct sir!

Kobe is a whiny crybaby rapist and he should not be supported by anyone, much less millions of people. I've been drinking my haterade and I'm ready to spew. I certainly hope to see the Magic win the Finals. Whoever said that Bynum is going to dominate Howard on the boards might be giving Bynum a bit too much credit. Someone with two busted knees is going to have a tough time slowing down one of the most athletic players in the NBA, just ask Ilgauskas about that. Even then, as much as I hate to see the Lakers and that prima donna succeed, they have built a pretty solid team and I bet the Magic are kicking themselves for giving up Trevor Ariza right about now.

Oh and trying to justify the downright obnoxious lack of effort that most NBA players display on a nightly basis as 'smart' basketball makes me shed a tear. A league that frowns on defense with ridiculous rules like the 3 second defensive violation, no 5 second close guard, restricted areas, and downright hilarious referees is clearly discouraging people from showing effort on the floor. It's geared for offense and offense alone so why bother playing defense? And since in most cases offense is handled by 1 on 1 dribble fests, why should the other 4 people bother to move?

The Magic Beat the defending NBA Champs & the best team in the east, the Cavs. A team that swept two teams prior to meeting the Magic The Sixers gave them a run for there money however.

The Lakers took down the Utah Jazz (Anyone would laugh at this, the Jazz, really?). An injury galore Houston Rockets who they almost lost to & the highly overrated Denver Nuggets. The magic has to many 3 pointer shooters which has killed every other team in the playoffs.

The problem they both face is that both teams defensive ability down right suck. Just look at there seasons & see how lit up they are with 100+ point games that were scored by the opposing team. The series will come down to who plays the better defense.

If Dwight Howard could hold on to the ball the Magic would have been tied with the Lakers right now. He had 7 turnovers. That's not helping anyone.

I agree he needs to be more aggressive but he did well accepting the double team and kicking it out for the three. Lewis did have 30+ points just for that reason.

it WAS a great call...no doubt about it...but there's a reason why no one thought it would go to him....

and the end result is the reason why...

GREAT play though...absolutely PHENOMENAL!
They got a POINT BLANK lay up for the game winner.....the BEST POSSIBLE shot available....great play call and execution...up till the finish.

Oh and Kobe's "I'm sooooo intense" face makes him look like an idiot....
I wonder how similar it is to his "I'm raping you now" face...

In fact... yesterday the best player was Gasol. He was great in the defense, and made a couple of great shots.

If the Magic keeps making personal faults and gifting points to the Lakers, the finals might end up pretty fast.

OK....at around 3:03 left in the 2nd quarter, VanGundy (the announcer) just referred to Kobe as "the bully walking in the alley who gives the others confidence"....
he was no doubt referring to Kobe's "toughness"....however I find it funny that he referred to him as an alley-prowling-bulley.
He certainly meant to use it as a compliment, however I don't REALLY think calling someone an alley-prowling-bully IS actually a compliment.

I DO find it INCREDIBLY accurate though...and NOT in a complimentary way...the ONLY way the description would've been MORE accurate is if he would've added "who rapes white girls in Colorado" to the description.

I hate the Magic and their inability to close a game. They should be up 3-1 instead of down 3-1 right now. Now I have to hear from my idiot Laker fan friends how great Kobe is. I have a feeling I'm going to be uttering the word 'rapist' a lot in the near future.

Kobe is a great shooter no doubt about it, but this series and watching him play has change my thoughts on who the best NBA player is. He forces so many shots when a better play should be made, granted the ball should be in his hands but some of the shots he throws up are foolish.

The only good thing that came out of this is the fact that being a Knicks fan, I can finally be releaved by the fact that the Orlando Magic is the biggest joke in basketball now. They choked a whole lot harder than the NY Knicks did in the finals in the 90's. I've never in my life seen a team blow 4th quarter leads in the playoffs like the magic have done in the finals. Even if I was a Orlando magic fan, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a jersey for that team. They played horribly down the stretch.

The Magic don't and didn't have that one player to match Kobe's production game in and game out, Lebron immediately changes that. The Lakers had problems covering the three, the Cavs are also a good three point shooting team. The Magic needed a closer in the 4th quarter again Lebron changes that. I am not saying the Cavs would have won, I just think it would have been a better series.

I don't think it would have been as one-sided as you suggest
