Hey all. haven't been on in a long time but I come seeking help. My desktop was infected by a virus, so I downloaded anti virus that my school provides and after downloading it I find that my XP logs off right after I click the icons the log on. I tired to boot into safe mode but that didn't work either. Can anyone help?

So when you try to log in, you just log straight out or it turns it self off?
When your booting in safe mode does it just fail to boot(With error message)?.. Booting in safe mode can take a fair few minutes...

If you are unable to boot in safe mode at all, you may be a little screwed... You may have to use a system recovery disc tha may have came with your pc or Take out the hdd and plug it into a friends computer (to see if you can recover your files/Reformat it, Make sure one of you knows what you are doing too:lol:)...

Maybe we need to change the PC Gaming section to just simply PC Help. There is a Tech support section in there.

Post this in the tech support sticky in the PC gaming forums, the guys over there are PC gods.

Uhhhhhhhh.... boot ubuntu from a live cd recover your files and reinstall windows?
