Is Fable: The Lost Chapters the same as Fable but with extra stuff or are they two different games set in the same world? What I'm trying to find out is do I need to buy both or just The Lost Chapters.

Lost Chapters is indeed the same game, but with extra stuff added. I enjoyed both versions equally (yes I bought them both). But if you're only springing for one go with Lost Chapters.
