The recent article about tetris said somethnig about the tetris effect, and so I looked it up It is only named after tetris and Is actually pretty interesting

The Tetris effect occurs when an activity to which people devote sufficient time and attention begins to overshadow their thoughts, mental images, and dreams.

check it out. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetris_effect)

After playing a marathon guitar hero or rockband session everything I look at appears to scroll or move towards me. Not sure if that's what it means but that's the closest I've ever come to "the tetris effect".

yeah thats pretty much it.

another example is that after playing gears you look at everything in terms of cover.

it happened alot when i was playing tetris attack, its a bit different than regular tetris you have to keep flipping blocks to line them with the same color as the other blocks. it basically makes you think, ok i have to flip this to put this here and then flip this to put it there etc, etc.
it made me think i have to keep flipping stuff in order for something else to happen for like 30 mins after i was done playing lol.

i bet braid would produce the tetris effect

I've been playing a lot of Tetris lately and I kinda had the effect. A bunch of PS3 games were on my bed and my brain seemed to arrange them in the Tetris shapes.

What did that make you do/think in your everyday life?

Let's just say eating stuff was a hassle, and paranoia of brightly clothed people creeping up on me was very high

After I played WoW for a while, I kept on saying I had to equip my clothes instead of put them on. ei; "One sec, I need to equip my pants first". Accidently too. No joke.

After Burnout, if someone was running, I automatically did the 'This... is a race' thing Atomika does

Great spelling! I once played tetris for so long that when I stopped I could still ear the music in my head for hours and my fingers kept twitching occasional....

When Call of Duty 4 came out, for a long time in real life when I seen a room full of people; I would think of the most stealthy way of killing them. In my head I would lay a claymore at the door, look through all the windows and get the guys standing up first.

I'm pretty sure the same thing was in an episode of IGN's 3 red lights or game scoop and it made me aware that I was doing it.

I also get that 'things scrolling down' effect after playing rock band; but I think that doesn't count since its only your eyes adjusting back to normal
