Gerstmann fans managed to hack gamefaqs poll. Gamefaqs like gamespot is a gaming site owned by the money whore Cnet.
http://www.megatonik.com/2007/12/01/gamefaqs-hacked-polls-users-asking-about-gerstmann-situation/
Fans are really trying to send a message to Cnet, from threds bashing and condeming Cnet actions, to the low scores from users to kane and lynch (2.6-10), to hundreds of paid subscribers ending their subscribtion. Cnet has lost its credibility and it shows users clearly that their reviews cannot be trusted.

I hate to use the magic link twice in one week, but http://Cnet.justgotowned.com/

If i am looking to buy a game i look at all the big reviews sites(ign,gamespot,1up ect.) but i would never subscribe and this whole thing does not matter to me. I don't really get why everyone is making a big deal over a rumor that probably is not true.

Jeff was fired but its just remored that it was because of kane and lynch score.

If you're going to these sites looking for buying advice, and it turns out that a guy got fired for essentially saying that a game sucks, that's a huge deal.

GS has got to be regretting this move big time. They shot themselves in the foot, and every gamer that cares about getting unbiased reviews knows it.

I hope Gamespot's ship sinks into the ocean, burning all the way. What they did to Gerstmann only proves that when it all boils down, they will sooner put out a false "happy-smile face" review over an honest one. I used to enjoy their reviews every now and then, but I am no longer visiting their site again.

Also, this has backfired on Eidos, because even though I was considering giving Kane and Lynch a try, I now refuse to ever buy their products again or support them with my money, even for Deus Ex 3, until they issue a public apology and recompensation to Jeff for costing an honest reviewer his job.

As an addition, I plan to follow Gerstmann wherever he goes, just so that companies get the idea that us gamers will support honest sites, not "cash-whores".

BOYCOTT EIDOS

BOYCOTT GAMESPOT

Jeff Gerstmann is going to join Kevin Rose as the host of a game podcast at Revision3. It's where all major celebrities go to shine after their employers let them go for stupid reasons.

If I'm not mistaken, Eidos pulled advertisements from Gamespot after the site gave it a crappy review. What's wrong with that? Why would you advertise on a site that doesn't like you? The problem is with Gamespot and Cnet: They decided that they wanted those advertising dollars back so they fired Jeff in hopes that Eidos would put their money back into Gamespot. Unless I'm wrong, the blame is not on Eidos, but Cnet.

Hm... US locks up its own citizens without trial, spies on them, sells out to huge companies, invades Iraq for oil, runs currency into ground, allows mass outsourcing, does nothing about border anarchy.... do nothing, forget to vote.

Video game reviewer gets fired... 1,000,000 teenagers uprise, gamespot is guilty until proven innocent, boycott! boycott! boycott!

good lord what a sad, sad world.

key word duffy, teenagers, teenagers means mostly underage citizens who can't vote, especially when we held the presidential elections.

During Vietnam the young went so ape-s#!% that the entire voting age of the US was dropped from 21 to 18

your point?

you said teenagers today for the most part can't vote... my point is that's no excuse, because 18-21 couldn't vote 30 years ago and they still voted by raising hell and changing the law.

and you really think they would lower it again? 18 is the age you become and adult and at 18 most kids are about to graduate high school, I for one would not want anybody younger making such important decisions, and their is no way enough people in the government who will think that.

Practically, no, I don't believe it will ever happen. But morally, yes, I think it should happen. If you're old enough to be harassed by military recruiters in high school (happens as early as ninth grade) and if you can be charged as an adult for crimes even though you only enjoy the privileges of a minor (minors are often charged as adults), then you should be allowed to vote. You can get agricultural working papers and join the American labor force at FOURTEEN! The government can collect from my paycheck at 14, but I'm not allowed to vote on what they do with that tax? Come on, now...
Personally at fifteen I got my own working papers and learning permit. I took a course and earned my full driver's license and purchased auto insurance at 17. I was granted a federal loan and put into debt by the federal government for college at 17 as well. They can make me a debter, but deny me the vote?

They don't establish the voting age and candidacy age for congress, etc. because they want what's best for the people -- they do it because they FEAR the people overthrowing the established, entrenched power class.

EDIT: to clarify about college loans, yes I am accepting the terms of the debt, they're not forcing me to do any of these things from working to driving to going to school, but a human being has a right to an education, and has a right to have say in what is done with the collected fruits of his or her labor.

as for the military, they can harass you all they want, but you can't join till 18, only certain crimes get charged as special cases, and ost 14 year olds are idiots who say they want anarchy and stupid shit, I for one do not want them voting ever, let alone under 18.

Most people -- 14 or 40 -- are good and decent people just trying to live life and find happiness

enough of them aren't though, and that is why they can't vote.

personally I think the voting age should be 16 or 17 rather then 18. I also think M rated games should be 16 and up not 17, or they should just add a new rating that says 16 and up.
