Sony patented PS CLOUD http://kotaku.com/5190494/playstation-moving-into-the-cloud

A few information details include that it will be similar to FaceBook where you'll have a News Feed that will broadcast all the things you've done to your friends and you will see what your friends have done on PSN such as unlocked Trophies, ranked up a Level and what friends on your buddy list are now playing.

Discuss? :cool2:

This would be cool Sony needs something to go head to head with the twitter thing on 360.
This cloud thing will turn out something like this.

Keep in mind that what was denied was the specific details and screenshot. It doesn't affect the trademark on Playstation Cloud or the fact that it could still be good and close to what was proposed. Who knows if we'll see it, but check the denial closely. ;)

Although the name implies social network, doesn't Microsoft have their own 'Cloud' prepared in the form of software being available online instead of being on your own hard-drive (like that online game service when you play games but only online; can't remember the name sorry).

I don't know that I'd say "social network" necessarily, I mean the definition is right here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_computing). Network, yes... but automatically tying it to a "social" network might be a bit premature.

Dude, there is whole web browser. Just bookmark twitter. While people waiting to access a free service through their paid service, we can use it now for free.

Sounds like a great idea, couldn't care less about the trophy system because it's so hidden away on the menu but this seems like a step in the right direction.

Part from typing, my PS3 browser is surprisingly fast. Also, USB Keyboards like the ones for computers work really well

You have to have a gold subscription to use it. While my PS3 browser is extremely fast, typing is just the opposite. Typing is extremely slow on both systems. You can get the chat pad to make things a little easier, or any USB/bluetooth keyboard will work.

hmmm I wonder if it will be a new for people with a subscription to playstation mag or an update to the PSN
