View Full Version : Best Arcade/Community Games
Hungry Luma 06-23-2009, 09:43 AM Today I was browising the Xbox marketplace for the best Arcade and Community games, but the whole thing was a bit over whelming. There where so many games! Thats why I'm asking you for help on the best games of the marketplace, which ones are the best in your opinion?
Thanks.
hyperhammy 06-23-2009, 09:55 AM XBLA is great. I got hooked like 2 week ago and I have become a huge fan.
Here is a list of games that I think are worth downloading:
Street of Rage 2 (If you like the old sega games you should buy the xbox 360 collection)
Outrun Online Arcade
Geometry Wars 1/2
Street Fighter 2
Wotb: commando 3
Castle Crashers
Alien Hominid hd
I also have small arms but that sucks. But you need to get Castle Crashers. It is awesome!

Downloaded 06-25-2009, 04:05 PM Castle Crashers, Geometry Wars 2 and Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers.
Age of Booty is a decent game :).
chutchut 06-25-2009, 04:19 PM Peggle for sure. Can someone tell me what Age of Booty is about? It kinda sounds like a Dateline special!
ShortDude 06-26-2009, 12:57 AM XBLA: Castle Crashers
Peggle
Marble Blast ultra is really fun and so is N+
OMG Braid is awsome!!!

Agreed.
I am having a blast with Rocket Riot. It's good fun, and gets tough near the end.
I also like the Feeding frenzy games, but I liked them from Pop cap on the PC too.
Rez is pretty sweet too.
And like others have said, Peggle and Castle Crashers are both must buys.

I didn't even think of Rez HD. Thanks.
Vault Dweller 07-01-2009, 10:33 PM Rez HD is amazing, no doubt. It's like an acid trip minus the actual acid.
Streets of Rage 2, which someone else mentioned. Teeming with nostalgia.
Geometry Wars 2: Retro Evolved is awesome. Crazy, crazy, crazy awesome. (E4 is supposed to be a good, too. I'm probably gonna pick it up at some point.)
Are we counting XBox originals, too? If so, Jade Empire is a must.
GamerGeeksTodd 07-01-2009, 11:43 PM I would have put Streets of Rage 2 on mine but I already had it on the Wii before I sold it. Maybe when I get 400 MSP to spare I might add it to XBLA.
I just hope they never add the jumping of the shark that was Streets of Rage 3. I hated that game, especially with what they did to the soundtrack.
Vault Dweller 07-01-2009, 11:54 PM The only thing I like about SOR 3 was being able to play as Shiva...even if it was a cheat.
GamerGeeksTodd 07-02-2009, 01:42 PM Forgot about playing as him. Still doesn't change my opinion of the game. SOR2 is definitely a classic. But which was better, that or Final Fight CD? I owned both and enjoyed them equally.
CaseyCor 07-03-2009, 07:10 PM Anyone here been playing around with Kudo? I've spent a small amount of time with it, and so far it's pretty cool!
Downloaded 07-05-2009, 03:14 PM I assume you mean Kodu?
Vault Dweller 07-05-2009, 06:28 PM I'd have to go with SOR 2. I enjoyed the gameplay much more than any Final Fight game, and I felt that it had a certain quality and style that most side-scrolling beat 'em ups lack.

Good point. I'll have to play it again soon. Miss how good that series was (well, except for 3.)
I should also add Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram to my list because I've been playing that a lot lately. Loved it on the Dreamcast and the addition of HD makes a great game look and feel much better
