Wont let me. At the age of 16 wouldn't you think that i could spend 24 hours playing games for a good cause as opposed too doing nothing? I got my super rich granpa too bid 100 dollars an hour (yes, VERY rich) an i cant do it D :

if you listened to the sarcasticgamer radio they said you could just get the 24 hours in a week or two rather than all in one stint as long as you get the money it's for a good cause.
And don't blame your mum I'm sure she just doesn't want you to for your own safety

Bitch mom? You need to control your language fellow 16-year old. She is doing what is best for you.

Like Vincent said, you can cover the 24 hours over a week. Doing it in one day would be impossible for EVERYONE except for people who don't have a life

You'd be surprised. After the first 8 or so hours you get pretty used to it.

Dude, if you have a console in your room, just play. That's what I did last year. Got a few people to sponsor me online and did it kind of discretely. Didn't need to ask the 'rents or anything.

Maybe two 12 hour sessions? Make sure its a large enough time period, since smaller periods wont be much of an achievement. E.g. 24 one hour sessions over a month.

Yeah...what day is October 17th anyway? Isn't that going to affect your school stuff? You need your sleep at 16...space it out. The raising money for a good cause is the main point of it. Game as much as you can and make the most of the time she does let you play.

Also I'd try and raise a ton of money and negotiate with her. Find out how much time she is WILLING to let you play. Then ask her if maybe you could set a really great goal, and if you accomplish it you can get a little more time to play. Remember to talk to her and make it about the cause not about you. It will make you seem all selfless and mature and once she sees how determined you are to still work towards your goal (AND NOT MENTION THE GAMING TIME AGAIN) maybe she'll be a little more lenient.

Teenagers have a habit of asking things the wrong way and getting emotional when they don't get what they want. Be smart about it and good luck.

In a way your mom's done you a favour. She's saved your Xbox from overheating by 24 hours of play..

If you still want to take part then just do the event in shorter segments instead of one go.

Wow Jax! That was extremely well stated and coherent. You are obviously not drinking at the moment...or you are drinking and it brings out the sound advice! :wink2:

Anyhow, Bunny Roses, don't be so harsh with your mom. She means well.

Shhhh Harlequin...don't tell people I'm smart....and don't be so amazed when I say something intelligent...it hurts my feelings. Drunks can be smart. I'm a functional drunk. I could teach everyone in the world something valuable.

your mom is only doing this because she thinks your too young to stay up for 24 hours, I'll just spread it put so I don't have my thumbs come off.

Yeah, both threads that I have seen started by you involved some profane language in the title.

Watch yourself.

I tried doing Extra Life last year and my parents took the thought of me playing video games for a whole day without sleep as something really bad for my health. (Come on, I'm a teenager!)

I could try it this year, and maybe my YouTube subscribers will sponsor me...

I'm surprised this many people's parents aren't letting them do this. Last year I stayed up for 24 hours playing and my parents didn't even notice.

This is why i cant Support Extralife, Because you Guys are now a Legitimate Company, they'll think that Part on the Donation money will go to you guys, these People Cannot be Convinced! Agh! - Nor will they Approve of letting me Play for 24 Hours Straight. *Sigh*.

Please never talk about your mom that way bro. It's not cool and is generally a shitty thing to do. Moms aren't always popular but... we're not in the business of trashing them.

That's about the silliest thing I've heard. We're an LLC so that if something terrible happens I don't lose my home or something. Give me an upside down break. If we were shady characters they WOULD approve?

Have your parents call Texas Children's Cancer Center and speak with Katie Daggett in Development, unless they have an aversion to calling a LEGITIMATE hospital that treats kids with Legitimate Cancer.
