A US Documentary featuring Jack Thompson blames games for 9/11 according to the article. (although I think the writer got the wrong end of the stick)

Still, another frustrating insight into the ignorance of people.

Trailer: EDIT: The YT embedded trailer doesn't seem to work. May need fixing.

The documentary film's main subject is the gaming violence, featuring the facts that terrorists used flight simulators in training or that people like Pekka-Eric Auvinen or Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold used to play violent video games.

Jack Thompson is widely known of his crusade against video gaming and this documentary film where he is under the spotlight, will surely give him a new kick for his crusade as well as a lot of negtive publicity from the gaming community.

The film features some of the electronic sports title games, Call of Duty, Half-Life 2 and Halo 2.

Film's trailer was already uploaded to YouTube on 26th December 2006, but the original film has not been released out yet. The release date will be announced soon. Project's budget is between $650,000 and $1,000,000 dollars.

Is there really anyone who isn't already like Jack Thompson out there who's thoughts about gaming would be changed by this documentary?

People are blaming all the world's problems on video games. What else is new?

I know and it just frustrates me that people who know better get to see these things. Its just a way for governments to scapegoat all these problems instead of addressing them.

Wait... ... ... They have electricity in Afghanistan?

But really - So he recons Bin Laden cruised on down to the local EB Games and bought an Xbox 360, and then got his buddies to play nothing but flight simulators?

I'm not even going to watch that trailer - he doesn't deserve the page hit.

Yes, because we all know that Al-Qieda trained the suicide pilots with Microsoft Flight Simulator.

This documentary lost all credibility when they showed Jack Thompson.

anytime Thompson shows up on tv the show that he was on loses credibility. Anyway I might see this movie just so I can laugh a bit at other people's ignorance and stupidity

You know if Jack Thompson spent as less time bitching about games and more time in the barbers then he would probably get laid.

You're talking about Moral Kombat right?

It's supposedly a very unbiased look into the industry -- they talk to several people on both sides of the coin, not just Jack Thompson.

No apparently they say they do but it's really just a one sided documentary.

Jeez, this is just going to be a joke anyways.

No one with half a brain to call their own is going to buy that sort of crap anyways, I'm not gonna bother wasting negative energy on it. Gotta save it up for somethin good.

Might be amusing to watch though, pop it on a telly and sit through it giggling. Could have a blast if ya watch it with some good friends and just sit around making fun of it.

And everyone knows that video games cause cancer, duh ;)

There will be an audience for this.

And unfortunately there are a lot of people who still believe everything they see on TV.

Put it this way, this doco will be anything but a step forward for gaming.

I must confess. Asteroids made a lunatic.
I can't stop beating on big rocks to make them smaller. And people look at me funny when I make the ambient sounds of the game while I do it - pew, pewwww, pew, pew, pew, pewwww.

Government wants to protect the children from Video Games, but Health Insurance for kids is out of the question?
