Good episode guys. A small complaint though, the music was too loud when you were complaining about the Blu Show. I really need that Battlefield Bad Company 2 shirt because I am currently shirtless and I need to cover my man boobs.

Yeah I did notice the music was really loud at that part. Thought it was just me. And then it just ended so abruptly.

1. Sarcasm and the other shows
Hi, good show this week, I particularly liked the way that the other shows were promoted, I have anticipated the return of the Orange Show and also enjoy listening to the Pink show although I am in no position to afford a PS3 so see little point in tuning in for the Blue show (though I’m sure it’s good).
The way they were promoted was really funny. Many narrow minded Brits in recent history have claimed that you (Americans) do not get sarcasm and cannot implement it. Well this podcast proves that to be the myth it is; there is a fine line between genuine sarcasm and just comedy and this show got it bang on. Very subtle and not the kind of spoonfed humour that the aforementioned uppity snobs would claim that American’s produce.

2. Transformers
On the note of the Transformers film. I cannot help but cringe when people say that you need to switch your brain off and be entertained when you watch ANY film. I am not disputing that you need to appreciate the context of the film, and enjoy it for what it is i.e. the wicked explosions, the humour and every twenty-something’s (who grew up with Transformers) childhood fantasies being visualised. BUT, if you fall into the trap of switching your brain off and mindlessly consuming these films, you are letting yourself be manipulated by the subtle dominant ideologies, whose intentions are exactly that you do not question what you are seeing. That being said, it is an awesome film and I doubt that anyone reading this hasn’t seen it yet, but if not then go!

Funny show guys! I haven't played Prototype but from everything Dave was saying, it sounds like I would agree and I was right not to buy it. I'm enjoying inFamous so much right now but between that and RFG, my open world hands are full right now.

I haven't seen Transformers 2 yet (waiting for iMax) but from what you are saying I'll probably agree on that too, as that was pretty much what I thought of the first film. It has Optimus Prime and Megan Fox - I don't care about the story, it's worth my money for that eye candy alone - mmm, sexy transforming truck :wink2::grin:

In my world we call that chilling out and taking a load off - and that's exactly what I like to do with a lot of my free time. I do enjoy more 'high brow' story driven movies but I have time for both type of experiences in my life.

Over all I think this is the most I've ever agreed with Dave in one episode - it's alright, I'm sure it's just a coincidence but I've booked a Doctor's appointment to make sure :undecided:

Fair enough, point taken and I fully agree. Everyone needs that chill-out time. Those that don’t have it end up becoming a serial killer, an MP or some kind of Princess stealing Donkey Kong figure, killing all the fun (actually I guess he creates the fun, seeing as if he didn’t nab the princess, there’d be no reason to jump about over barrels to get her back – but this is a pointless digression).

I guess my point was just that it is nice to chill out and relax watching things, but some people extend this to not questioning anything they are presented with. This doesn’t really apply to gamers as we are so accustomed to being active in the narrative’s development.

About Prototype. I think you need to apply the same logic to it as the Transformers movie. It's basically brainless entertainment, don't expect it to make sense, videogames rarely do.
I thought it was a great game even though the graphics are ugly, the story is shallow, and those poor tank controls. The other side missions are better then those for running up buildings, although never as good as the story missions. All the different powers have their uses, and although you could finish the game by focusing only a few of them, I think that's missing the point of a sandbox game. The fun comes from experimenting with your powers, and seeing what you can do with them.

About Transformers 2... it's not about the "switch your brain off" to enjoy it. I enjoyed the movie, but some parts really (REALLY!) just got on my nerves. It's kind of hard to suspend belief when they do crap in the movie, that even WITHIN the context of the movie, makes no friggin' sense! I don't want spoil the movie, but ... aww crap, I kind of would HAVE to spoil it a bit in order to make my point (I don't know how to do that show spoiler button).
Doc, don't tell me you were laughing at the parts with the Jar-Jar like annoying ass twins. WTF? With all of the great characters within the Transformers universe, why did they have to create THESE two stupid a-holes?

I agree 110%, I like the new info style shows but I thought the point of Sg Radio, and I quote 'Was Not a show for those wanting Infomation on games, but a 30 minute show for those looking for something different'. (Ok that wasn't a direct qupte but I'm close enough)

Oh yeah, it's monk jumping on the bandwagon of disapproval. Actually, in all honesty what I miss most about the pre-produced goods is the lack of sponsors. I thought it was hilarious that you had Swine Flu sponsoring a show, and when I had my friends listen to it, they all agreed that it was pretty badass. The show now is good, but it's getting close to being like "every other show". Nothing really distinguishes it from all the other podcasts on itunes? I've been viewing this forum/listening to the red show/Sarcasticgamer Radio for a long time now, Figured it was about time to get on my account and post. :D. What a great place to start too. I really liked the show. Sadly, I don't have a Playstation 3, so I won't be able to try out inFamous. I have heard from a lot of friends that it's really good and totally worth a buy. I'm going to gamefly Prototype hopefully soon, so then I will be able to judge it for myself. What might no be great might be great for somebody else... and I just love sandboxes. :D:D
