Ok some of you guys are gonna think I'm simple for asking this question, but here goes.

Is the Battlefield Series the same thing as the Battlefront games just without the movie themes.

I haven't played the battlefront games, but they sound very similar. I've heard they're not as good as the battlefield games, which are awesome, but Star Wars seems like a perfect setting for a game like that, so I dunno.

But yeah, I believe it's a lot of players, vehicles, area captures, and respawns.

They're kind of similar but I prefer the Battlefront games because of the map settings and the characters.

battlefront is a 3rd person shooter wich takes place in thee star wars universe and battlefield an ego shooter with a military theme

I like the Battlefront games more because they are not held down to being based on reality like the battlefield games. (minus 2142)

Battlefront was fun because it knew what it was. It didn't try to do anything out of it's league.

In Battlefront, you can be Chewbacca, or Yoda.... What's not to like!? :P

More importantly you can play as Vader and kill Ewoks!

So the battlefield games are 1st person not 3rd

What i liked in Battlefront was
The suicidal charges against the enemy, then re-spawn
The variety of vehicles you can use,
Capturing the bases

Does this sound like a battlefield game or can you suggest something else similar.

Anyone know if there's ever going to be a new battlefront games. I miss them lol. I never played them online but I'm interested to see what it'd be like.

Oh and btw to everyone that played Battlefront 2. Wasn't that level where you only play as heroes in Mos Eisley the best.

I prefer the Hoth scenario. Since StarWars:SotE I brought down hundreds of at at's on different platforms :)

I personally prefer the Battlefield games. I love war shooters. I still had a blast with battlefront, but I never played online (not sure if you could) so that's what made Battlefield better for me.

Yeah you could Karizmatkstalyn. Just not many people bothered on the PS2 (that I know of). I'm guessing that the original Xbox game had more online players.

Well if I remember correctly, there was going to be a SWBFIII but it got canned.
But there was leaked footage and renders of the game.

Also, yes, the Mos Eisley Stage was awesome. I used to play it all the time on my PSP.

I think they're both great games in their own ways.

Battlefront is addicting, easy to pick up, and overall just a blast to play.

Battlefield is generally a much more serious (with the exception of Bad Company), realistic military shooter that may have the best multiplayer in its genre.

A Battlefront III would be pretty sweet...

Battlefront is AWESOME its super addicting and you can have a light saber and own. That makes it light-years ahead of Battlefield both metaphorically and literally!

I remember for a birthday getting myself battlefront 2 and it was so much fun. Now with bad company being my first battlefield game that I've ever played, I must say there are some differences.

First off, the unlockability and stuff you can work for in bad company makes it more worth it. In battlefront, there really is nothing there. But then again, in battlefront, you get to play as chewbacca(AWESOME. YOU JUST GOTTA LOVE CHEWY!)

Overall, I'd say battlefield is the better game, for a couple of reasons.
A. They've been at it longer, so more experience in the field.
B. There is unlockable stuff, so thus, the replayability skyrockets.
C. You can blow everything up. hehehehe boom.

A light-year is a measurement of distance, and Star Wars took place a long time ago. So Battlefield was actually years ahead of Battlefront if you wanna get technical. :tongue:

They're very similar games. I've played both Battlefront games on the PC, and are working on getting Battlefield 2 someplace, because I've heard it still has a great community. I played 2142, but can't find my login information to keep playing. But I love them both, from my experiences with them.

The battlefront games are made by pandemic studios who also make lord of the rings conquest (it's not good). Battlefield is made by dice. Although they are similar in name and concept that is where the similarities end.

I would say they have similar concepts. Large map with capture points and vehicle, classes, and such. They are different though, one is third person and other is first.

Why is this in the xbox section, should be moved to multiplatfrom section. Especially since there isn't even a battlefront game on the 360.

Only Wish it was on all levels. I heard there will be a new one.

Not sure whether this has been mentioned, but LOTR Conquest is a lot like Star Wars Battlefront, only not as good :(

Except a new star wars one would not be made by the same company, pandemic made star wars battlefront while they were owned by lucasarts. Then they were bought by ea, who do hot have the rights to star wars, but do to lotr, hence the crappy game you mention.

If another star wars game was made, it would need to be made by a completely different company. that leaked footage above, was the build created by pandemic before they were bought by ea, and they still own that build. Therefore they own the game engine while lucasarts hold the rights. It's unlikely anything will happen now. Or for a while at least.
