I've signed up, but I can't see me getting in really, I don't play my Xbox enough for me to care much. Hopefully this update will bring me back but there's nothing that amazing in there for me.

i signed up pretty early thanks to aceybongo's twitter page so hopefully I'll get picked. Its a little disappointing that facebook, twitter, last.fm and instant on 1080p movies arent coming in this update but i guess some of the other features will be quite cool.

Im in the beta and tbh its not that great theres a couple cool features but i dont think its gonna be as good as the facebook/twitter update. If you didnt get in dont worry about it as a lot of the features havent been enabled yet e.g. games on demand, awards etc.

Well I was insanely disappointed with the update, nothing interesting changed - especially for us UK folks. However, it has convinced me to start playing Xbox again.. so maybe some good did come of it..

Well funny thing is, I haven't seen an email yet, but I got in when I got back home today.
I won't complain.
Some things I've noticed...
We get an "Xbox Update channel" Will that sit on Preview member boxes forever? It makes it look like we're set in this upper tier "for life", though I imagine the preview benefits will carry over into the Fall Social update. It has a spot for update announcements and inclusions in the update, as well as some FAQs.

MS looks to be really recommitting to Achievements/GamerScore with the update, which makes me happy.

Avatar Clothes are in (yes, I bought Halo Stuff when I could've gotten a RB tack, but I <3 Halo) but what's cool is they threw in all of the other free clothes we've seen from promos (Euro Football Tee, i.e.) and now you can color customize some things, including the power tee. Now I can have the black power tee that made sense all along!

360 Games on Demand aren't up for purchase, but now Xbox Originals are grouped with GoD.

And instead of fixing the party netcode, MS did a workaround by automatically reuniting an involuntarily separated party.

I never got the email but got the update last night. I am very impressed with the improvements to the marketplace. It's no longer futile to browse Rock Band songs on the console anymore.
The ability to add movies to your Netflix queue is awesome. Hello Ronin.
The guide is waaay more responsive and doesn't hang up every time you check a message or leave players feedback.
So far color me impressed overall.

I have to say, I didn't think I'd really care about the new rating feature, but I'm starting to dig it. I went through and rated the arcade games I've bought recently and even started a few of my actual games and I've noticed that the ones I've spent a ton of time on are getting good scores from the community and the ones I've barely touched are getting feh scores.

You're not the only one. I got the welcome email but it said that I was to get another email when the update was ready. However when I turned my 360 on there is the update ready to go. Haven't had much time to play with it yet but one thing I did notice is that the nasty lag I had with trying to close out my Xbox Guide is finally gone. Did notice also how it now shows that I'm a 6 year veteran of Xbox Live. Damn that makes me feel old.
