I don't think it's taken too far out of context. I personally think this is going to be the best thing for Gerstmann in the end. He was fired from a corrupt website who was always censoring him and now he should be able to get a job at a much better website or magazine who will most likely pay him equal or more of what he was making at Gamespot. Sounds like a good deal to me.
