View Full Version : Sony, I Hath Sinned
darkwonders 12-05-2007, 06:02 PM It's not That good...
And why do you say that?
When was the last action game that actually played like a movie, had a compelling story, AND had zero loading times once the game had started?
gliff159 12-05-2007, 06:25 PM blah drake = boring
gliff159 12-05-2007, 06:27 PM blah drake = boring

wow zero loading times you say, I must simply drop what I'm doing and go purchase the game this instant!,
Hmm let me see... a game that plays like a movie with a compelling story line... ever heard of MASS EFFECT?

iPlayPC 12-05-2007, 09:00 PM First it's called Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.
Secondly, Welcome to the dark side! We have cookies!
lol I know. My mistake. The game kicks ass.
is it just me, or is this Thread out of order?

It is out of order...
iPlayPC 12-06-2007, 03:59 AM Oh, I doth realized I did not deserve heaven when I played Uncharted Drake's Fortress and doth before had hatred for Sony's creation of a Playstation 3. Uncharted is a game so supreme, I doth played it until my hands were wrenched from thy controller by my friend. The Playstation 3 is now a good console in my eyes, and deserves what thy developers give. Go PS3. If only thy could afford one.

smon jiff 12-06-2007, 11:27 PM So can anybody give a quick, decent and unbiased review of the game as it is on my list of things to seriously consider purchasing.

Last time I checked Mass effect was an RPG, not an Action Adventure game...
And I specifically said Action Movie... If you are too blind to read then that's not my fault...

Here's the run down:
- Play this game on hard and you'll have 10 hours worth of gameplay.
- Use cover A LOT. Or you'll die.
- HEADSHOTS, and I can't express that enough.
- Pay attention to the story, it's really amazing.
- Before you get back into the action, hold L2 and look around, it's really quite awesome.
- Don't be afraid to unload your shotgun/machine gun, they pop up often.
- Last, get ready for a huge twist near the end of the game.
And that's all I got, it's just a fantastic game.
P.S. - It has Achievements that make sense, where you actually get to do something wacky with the game, and it's worth every point.
smon jiff 12-07-2007, 01:28 AM Sounds pretty good then, I'll have to pick it up next weekend!
Emophia 12-07-2007, 06:05 AM What teh hell happened to the post order?
Anyways, Uncharted is the first game to convince me I didn't make teh wrong choice buying a PS3...
Anyone who has a PS3 has to get this...
keith22 12-08-2007, 11:31 AM And why do you say that?

here is no such thing as a game without loding times, games that claim they are without loading are lying to you load times are hidden
Emophia 12-08-2007, 11:41 AM There are load times, whenever you load a game, tehre's a load...
iPlayPC 12-08-2007, 11:50 AM There are load times, whenever you load a game, tehre's a load...
Well, duuuuuhhhhh. I think we're talking about in-game loading.
Emophia 12-08-2007, 04:12 PM There is, ingame texture loading...
darkwonders 12-08-2007, 08:25 PM Once again people are twisting my words... I chose them carefully...
I specifically said loading times. Of course the game is continuously loading when I'm playing... But I don't have to sit there and wait for a level to load. My game play is not broken up in the slightest.
But I guess since it's a PS3 game, people still have to bash it no matter how good it is...
iPlayPC 12-08-2007, 09:43 PM I used to be like that... but Uncharted changed that...
Ploogle 12-08-2007, 10:17 PM o_O
Huh?
iPlayPC 12-08-2007, 10:19 PM o_O
Huh?
its a long story
Emophia 12-09-2007, 09:06 AM I'm not bashing... I have a PS3, and I love Uncharted, but I don't like it when people make things out to be better than they are...

also, they have created animations for the characters which mimik reall life, such as imperfections in someones stance or running, and that if you go to step up on to a big boulder he stumbles, or if hes running down hill it shows, not the same old movement animation. i say this as a selling point, as you wont see a game that does that, maybe one or two, but not to this level of detail, it truly is an amazing game
but i do agree Emophia, nothings perfect :P xbox has about as much reliability as a lying drug addict, the PS3 is expensive and has only started to bring out the better games, although i still believe motorstorm and warhawk are some of the best online games i have played, and the Wii has about as many games as id play as the PS3 has, and they are all still extremely childish. Yeh once in a while its nice to play mario, but wheres a mini gun, wheres the death, wheres the hideous unnecessary violence? every console needs it and the Wii is extremely lacking in the Gore department (Umbrella Chronicles will not count, as i might as well just go play House of the Dread on my dream Cast :S)
zaphoduk 12-10-2007, 09:54 AM I almost picked up Uncharted on Friday when it came out over here, am i glad i didn't. I played the demo couple weeks back but not for long, and i fawned over the animation and the graphics. It was only this past weekend that i had a propper play on the game and found it to be unsatisfying to play. Whether it's my old age and my 733t skillz have faded into insignificance or what i don't know, but i felt overwhelmed by the mobs and ran out of ammo very quickly.
All in all i decided it was a game i wouldn't get much enjoyment out of playing so won't be picking it up now.

i understand what you mean mate, if you dont cover, you are dead, and you need to conserve ammo until you can take it off fallen enemies, who always drop ammo. Its a bit like Gears of War, in terms of, cover, or you die REALLY quickly. This also makes it a kind of strategic game insteas of a , run in and kill everything with out using any brain power, you have to have a slightly higher IQ than that for this game :P but if you get the hang of the controls, headshots become easy :D

Really? I though teh demo was really easy on normal... Headshots galore...
And when you run out of ammo, try to isolate a guy, beat him out and take his...
