All my other aliases (plural..?) were too offensive, so I had to randomly come up with something better. Scrubble = Scrub + bubble. Scrubble.

Mines from when I played Starcraft with a friend and we would use variations of the "Weapon" name. Altered Weapon was one of the variations. Crazy Weapon, Angry Weapon were other variations of it. When I went to use my original gamertag of Stupidity when I signed up for Xbox Live it was taken (that bastard still doesn't ever play) and I'm not into variations, so I remembered back to the Altered Weapon days and it stuck, I use it as a tag for everything.

My good friends call me chim because my real last name chmielewski is to hard to pronounce on a regular basis, and 7 because just chim is rarely long enough.

regua comes from my last name. As it contains the "ł" character, which is rarely displayed properly on English websites, I had to invent some more English-friendly username. I've chosen "regua", which - if you pronounce it according to the Polish pronunciation rules - sounds exactly the same as my real last name. And I'm sure 90% of you don't know how to pronounce it.

A long time ago in a far away galaxy there lived a Quake III Arena player who called himself Game0ver. He was decent at Quake and existed at all the semi-pro and pub servers and forums. He always use that name, Game0ver, in forums and he had a cool animated .gif that looked like the old video game machines screens when your game was over.

I wanted that name. I became obsessed. For years I attempted to use the name Game0ver in forums that were so distant from the Quake crowd that I figured he could not possibly be registered there. But he was. Every freakin' time. He was registered in hundreds of game forums! He was undefeatable and I eventually gave up.

These days when I register in a new forum I still try using Game0ver after trying the standard popular names like Volkov, Captain DDL and Doc---which are always taken, too. For some reason Game0ver was not taken at SC so I grabbed it. And now, it's mine, baby!

I came up with mine after years of deliberation and debating. I finally decided to put a 'y' on the end of my last name to get 'Yousty'. I know, it's genius.

I used to be Big Kahuna back in the BBS days. I started playing Red Baron and one of the established Allied pilots was already using it. He offered to give it up, since I'd been using it elsewhere longer, and being Hawaiian it is sort of a default nickname (better than coconut). I told him to keep it and went with the name Kai Wulf, but had no real handle to use forums or anything else.

In '97 I was working at the Air Force's rocket lab, and leaving "Kilroy" pictures on every piece of pipe I worked on. The rocket test stand I was working on became populated with Kilroys. One day one of the "old guys" caught me and said, "Well, if you're Kal, and that's Kilroy, then you're Kalroy." It stuck, and was never registered online.

It became my XBox Live handle (back in the XBox days) and transferred to my XBox Live gamertag.

Oh, and the Kal part is because my first name is Kaleiokalani and it turns out that, outside of Hawai'i, most people have a problem pronouncing it properly.

Well, I'm a HUGE Simpsons fan, and my favorite charater(s) are kang and Kodos, those two green aliens with the one eye and the tentacles, but I thought, that wouldn't make a really good user-name. My second favorite charcter, Duffman, was perfect, however, be it's just one name and it's not funny and people know who he is. On a side note, and can do his voice darn-near perfectly. ANYWAYS, since Duffman was already taken on XBox live, I just added an X18 because my Halo profile on my old xbox was Spartan X18. Also, I got the X18 originally from my favorite letter & number. :D

Chemical Burn was practically half copied and pasted. "Chemical" being from my favorite music artists The Chemical Brothers, and Burn because I didn't wanna fully rip the name off. Plus I wanted something that sounded as an original alias as possible thus Chemical Burn was born. This was back way in the mid 90's. Ironically about the same time they were forced to switch names due to the fact they were using the same name other artists in the U.S. at the time were using. The Dust Brothers.

I read an old gaming mag, and it was describing a quake1 tournament, and the writer described a team 'getting the kudos kicked out of them'. I'd never heard of the word, and it sounded cool, so i looked it up.

Since then, games like MSR on the dreamcast, and PGR on Xbox and 360 have used Kudos as a points system. People think that is where i got my game from, but i had been using it for years before those games came out.

Maulin is relatively new. After Halo 3 came out I fell in love with Maulers. Every time I got a kill with them, I would shout, "Maulin'!" as a way to make fun of this kid in our school who shouts, "Ballin'!" when playing basketball. It kind of just stuck.

I always liked the codename "striker". I used it for all my files, when playing with my friends, and for many other things. When i got xbox live, striker was obviously taken so I shortened it. Still taken. So I to make sure noone would take it , I had to use numbers. I didn't want 123, but it had to be easy to remember, so from then on my xbox live acount and every other forum/ gaming thin has been strika234.

I tried something else to change it to, but it didn't work so I just said Derek and it suggested DemonicDerek. I was changin from BoneShmasher and I changed the name because when I thought of it I read it as smashing the bones in people's arms and legs and at that time I didn't know of the sexual reference known as "boner". My old alias used to be Knives. One night I was playing a game of CS:S with an old clan I was in and we decided for a theme that night we were going to use the names of movies we loved as our alias'. I chose the name Snatch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snatch_(film)) because I had just seen the movie and thought it was awesome. Well, for whatever reason, the server was really heavy that night, and it was a lot of fun. People kept on coming back asking for the admin named Snatch for a few days. Gruso is an old nickname (see sig for pronunciation), and Gruseaux is just a pointlessly convoluted variation. I started using it after someone called me a heauxmeaux on another forum, lol. Sometimes I just use Seaux.

I like all kinds of world mythologies so when I needed a nick for FFXI because my usual one was taken I went through a list of mythological characters. Didn't want to take any demonic names like Beelzebub mostly because they are long and when people shorten them they type only the first 3 or 4 letters. So after a while I decided on Metatron. And people called me "Meta." After I quit FFXI I used the nick Meta on one site, still do, but when I found SG I wanted to make it a bit longer. So I checked the definition of the word. Meta + tron = Beyond + Matrix. So I decided to stick with the prefix Meta and had to decide whether to add 13 or 666 to the end because both numbers have a personal meaning to me. 13 looked kinda meh so I decided on 666. Too bad I didn't think of 13 as XIII, MetaXIII looks so much better :D.

Well the SW in my name is for a gaming clan I am in called Sniperwatch. As for the Name itself, when I was first joining sniperwatch, I had to pick a new name because my old one was unoriginal and boring. So I came up with Silentkiller. I've recently seen a few "PacManPolarBear" and/or "PMPB" posts and user id's floating around. Which strikes me as very strange since I have had the name for almost 8 years now without ever coming across any variation.

I suppose it is possible someone else thought the name was cool, but it could also be someone who likes joining porn sites and other questionable sites with my name. So if you stumble across PacManPolarBear somewhere that seems a bit odd, chances are it is not me.

The name of course, is pure nonsense that I created to be unique, so that I could be 99% sure the name would be free on whatever site or game I joined. It's also one of those names that people remember, which is both good and bad.

Yup, it sucks when you come up with a unique ID that you like, somehow relates to you, and you can be remembered by... and then someone else tries to copy/steal it. That just sucks. I hope mine doesn't get stolen (i have a few other back up IDs though).

I was trying to register for Xbox live but every name I wanted was taken so I thought of a book I'd just read that happened to involve griffins and put 999 on the end because its a cool number. some times I also use gold_grif golden_grif gold_griffin golden_griffin and those with 999 on the end.

I went by Sleepy for three years, give or take, then changed it to codespace. Been codespace for around a decade or so now, perhaps a little longer. It's a good name, I think. And it's original enough that it's almost always available wherever I go.

Well, on the interwebs, I'm known as Keladry, kalikeladry, EmeliaRose, Shidela or Emo Koala.

Keladry was a nickname from a series of books by an author a bunch of my friends and I were fans of, and each picked a character we were the most like. Obviously, I picked Keladry. Kalikeladry was what came out of me when I found Keladry to be taken, so I decided to put 'Kali' in front of it instead of 'Cali' because I felt like it should have a k instead of a c. I was 13, what do you expect?

EmeliaRose kind of spawned from a modified version of a local band that I love, but it's really because I like the name 'Amelia' and my real name starts with an E, so I took that and added my favorite flower.

Shedela was a name I came up with for one of my random character drawings, and I was starting to play City of Heroes and I couldn't think of a name, so I typed in 'Shedela' and my then-boyfriend said I should change the first e to an i... So I did, and there was born Shidela. It's hardly ever taken and I've always liked it.

Emo Koala is an inside joke, more than anything. I'm sure almost everyone has heard of the term 'emo panda' and I called myself an emo panda one day, and my friend corrected me and said 'You're not an emo panda, you're an emo koala!' because I wear hooded sweatshirts, and therefore had a 'pouch' which made me a marsupial. The Beezs comes from my Gamertag SBeezs. Why not just use SBeezs? Because every twit wants to pronounce the S despite any grammatical indication that the S is part of the name to be said. It's not "seabeezs" nor is it "subeezs", it is "S (ess) Beezs". And, SBeezs came around from wanting to pay homage to Tim Bisley, simon pegg's character in Spaced, which in turn is a take on the name Simon Bisley, which is a comic artist that I admire.

I was known as DarkLegacy for many years. Since Meridian 59 in my first MMO & to as early as the 80's in Arcade games where I used DL as my initials. I stuck with DarkLegacy until 2007. It's still my first choice in many MMO & online games I play. Some people use it now so it's not as unique to me as it once was for many years. I started using LatinLegacy as a backup name in 2005. That was the first time I came accross a game that someone already had DarkLegacy registered.

LatinLegacy was originated back in my High School days. Around 1997. When I joined a street gang known as the Latin Kings. So some knowing my gaming name was DarkLegacy, they started to call me King Legacy at first which later evolved into LatinLegacy. L2 or Elle Dos (L2 in Spanish). I left the gang in 2000, when I graduated from HS. The LatinLegacy name stuck with me though as everyone kn ew me as that. So I still use it till this day.

Doty is my last name and my original game tag was DIS Doty. DIS was a halo for PC clan I was in that stood for Drunken Irish Snipers. I thought it was free to change my name so I just went for it. awhile ago some friends were dogging me do play dungeons and dragons. I never played, roe did I want to, But They never let up. Day after day they were one me to join. so I bought the book popped in the character sheet software and had it auto select a name. It came up with whitefire. I liked it. that was the first and last time I played d&d and that was the last time they asked. I took home the book studded it and chose a bard character, witch every one gave me grief for and asked me why. I told them it suited my needs. well after I was a pain in the ass character they never asked me back. I ask you if there was a rage chartor you never meet riding fast towards you would you not try to defend your self? Well, on GamePro.com there is an editor name LongHairedOffender and he was the first editor I saw so I decided to steal his name.

I've use VaeVictus X for around 6 years. Before that I was Thanatos27. Vaevictus has two notable gaming related connotations for me.

First, it was Kain's battle cry in the original Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain (yes, the Blood Omen title came first on that game) and according to Kain in the game it's latin for "Suffering to the Conquered." Second, in the Dreamcast version of Unreal Tournament (haven't played the crappy PS2 port of the DC version, and it's not in the PC version,) after you win one of the single-player ladders and go to the trophy room, the camera will pan around the room. It takes a while, but eventually the camera pans all the way to the far corner of the trophy room and swings behind one of the pillars. On the back of the pillar is engraved "VAEVICTUS."

On a related note, one of my Magic: The Gathering cards is called "Vaevictus Dragon."

I really have no clue why my name is what it is. It is my XBL Gamertag, but I have no idea why I thought of that gamertag.

Mutt was my nickname, amongst my close friends, at school. From Muttley (as in Dastardly & Muttley - Wacky Races etc) More of a reference to my tendency to mutter under my breath but the name really stuck after I laughed liked Muttley (like once in my entire life but it was enough)

When I was on the original 360 my Gamertag was Mutt v1.0 (coz I couldn't get Mutt) I wasn't totally happy with it and when I changed to the 360 I was struggling for inspiration, the 360 suggested MightyMutt - I liked it coz of the association with Mighty Mouse.

It's the two components of Muttley and Mighty Mouse that gave me the inspiration for my Avatar.

My old handle used to be Dementri which happened when i was playing a text-based Harry Potter MMORPG and was trying to think of a name when i thought of all the evil people in Harry Potter, then i thought of the Dementors and thought of the russian name Dimitri and they kind of merged. My new one was when i was listening to the Sarcastic Gamer Playstation Podcast and PacManPolarBear was doing shoutouts and he read out the name DontEatTheYellowSnow and i thought it was quite funny, as did he so it has kinda grown on me

Actually it's not a very interesting story, but a story none the less. I made this name from runescape, originally i was trying to get the name chickenbutpizza(don't ask me why it would have been a bad choice cause the name was crap) and my friend tricked me into not getting the name several time. So i just chose zinc out of the air and it was taken so i chose one of the numbers they listed and the number was 136(one-thirdy-six). Since then i've used it on every thing i join just because it's short and easy to say and usually doesn't take me long to log into stuff with it.

Anyway, Ive been putting my corny and faux "bad ass" prefix "kill" on words for screen names for a while. "Killtography" is the only other one I can think of right now.

Then, I got into a car accident about 2 years ago (Wow, time flies) and I had to get a skin graft on my right arm cause the airbag burnt and ripped it all up. So a little while after that the word "Killgraft" popped into my head and Ive been using it since.

I also used the name "The Great Goodbye" for a while after a little band I had in highschool. Agreatgoodbye is still my AIM name.

I came up with this name from a Halo 3 beta video I saw on IGN. his name was JusBlazeMan and it kinda stuck with me so even though that tag wasnt used on Live, I named myself with an 02 at the end just so if the original wanted to put his tag on live, I would be nice enough to let him have it :)

I got my name from my (Obsession?) with Norse Mythology. Just simply because Odin didn't take any Sh*t from anyone, and was the king of the gods.

I go this one way back in the day on a Compuserve forum dedicated to space combat and flight simulations. Internet handles didn't really exist back then and for that matter the internet wasn't anything like it is now, no web browsers or web pages, but everyone had callsigns, and I ended up with Granite as a play on words of my real name.

That's my nickname of choice, though if it's taken (which happens all to often, though I think I pre-date most claims to it on the net ;) ), I usually go by Sabruer, the term for a sabre fencer, which is what I do with my free time when I'm not playing games.

I simply made up the name Kojin one day, back when I was still playing some D&D once a week with some friends. Not sure why I came up with it, but I thought it sounded cool.

Interestingly enough, apparently Kojin actually does mean something. I was board one day and googled "Kojin" for my own amusement. I got back not one, but TWO wiki entries.
