Volkov 07-24-2007, 03:59 PM Volkov has been my alias for everything for about 3 years now. I got it from a game called No One Lives Forever. Dimitrij Volkov was the bad ass Russian villain with an eye patch and pinstriped suit. Lleu 07-24-2007, 04:06 PM I've been Lleu on everything for as long as I can remember.... not sure how I chose it though. All of my WoW toons are some form of Lleu. There's Lleu, Lue, Loo, Gleu, Jelleu (Hey guys, can i raid with you? There's always room for Jelleu!) Hotcooler 07-24-2007, 04:15 PM I've been Lleu on everything for as long as I can remember.... not sure how I chose it though. All of my WoW toons are some form of Lleu. There's Lleu, Lue, Loo, Gleu, Jelleu (Hey guys, can i raid with you? There's always room for Jelleu!) Same here. I've been Hotcooler (or Hot cooler earlier) for ages. Can't remember how i chose it. Scrubble 07-24-2007, 04:17 PM All my other aliases (plural..?) were too offensive, so I had to randomly come up with something better. Scrubble = Scrub + bubble. Scrubble. Altered_Weapon 07-24-2007, 04:22 PM Mines from when I played Starcraft with a friend and we would use variations of the "Weapon" name. Altered Weapon was one of the variations. Crazy Weapon, Angry Weapon were other variations of it. When I went to use my original gamertag of Stupidity when I signed up for Xbox Live it was taken (that bastard still doesn't ever play) and I'm not into variations, so I remembered back to the Altered Weapon days and it stuck, I use it as a tag for everything. chim7 07-24-2007, 05:03 PM My good friends call me chim because my real last name chmielewski is to hard to pronounce on a regular basis, and 7 because just chim is rarely long enough. regua 07-24-2007, 05:11 PM regua comes from my last name. As it contains the "ł" character, which is rarely displayed properly on English websites, I had to invent some more English-friendly username. I've chosen "regua", which - if you pronounce it according to the Polish pronunciation rules - sounds exactly the same as my real last name. And I'm sure 90% of you don't know how to pronounce it. Too bad it's not long enough for a username on GMail (http://gmail.com)! Game0ver 07-24-2007, 05:15 PM A long time ago in a far away galaxy there lived a Quake III Arena player who called himself Game0ver. He was decent at Quake and existed at all the semi-pro and pub servers and forums. He always use that name, Game0ver, in forums and he had a cool animated .gif that looked like the old video game machines screens when your game was over. I wanted that name. I became obsessed. For years I attempted to use the name Game0ver in forums that were so distant from the Quake crowd that I figured he could not possibly be registered there. But he was. Every freakin' time. He was registered in hundreds of game forums! He was undefeatable and I eventually gave up. These days when I register in a new forum I still try using Game0ver after trying the standard popular names like Volkov, Captain DDL and Doc---which are always taken, too. For some reason Game0ver was not taken at SC so I grabbed it. And now, it's mine, baby! And, Game0ver, if you're reading this---HAHAHAHAHAHA! Yeah, you missed one, buddy! Ahahaha, you quad-camping rail whore. CharlieBlix 07-24-2007, 07:12 PM I got mine from my first name "Charles" and a demon from the old movie Legend "Blix". I hate having names that have numbers or other such, so once I found out that Charlie Blix wasn't taken on anything I started to use it. DrPhallus 07-24-2007, 08:09 PM Whoa, Now you got me thinking; It's evolved from one form to another, however the most recent (being three years ago) came from one of my friends who had this obsession with casual obcenity and had the desire to call everyone Mr arse... in response to this I started gaming with the alias Dr Cock. It went well for a while; until there were major complaints from online sever admins and I decided to change it to Dr Phallus. Most people were too illiterate, or downright oblivious to know what the hell it meant and has been my alias for the past three years. Yay for me. Locke 07-24-2007, 08:17 PM First heard the name Locke in the book Enders Game which I'm sure a few of you have read. From then on I thought it was a great name and the philosopher of whom the name was taken seems like an... Interesting individual. Spudnik 07-24-2007, 10:10 PM My sister actually started calling me Spudnik after she heard the name Sputnik and mistakened it for Spudnik. It is my alias for everything now howev er I am called hockeyman on some other sites. raynes 07-24-2007, 10:43 PM Well my real name is Rene, pronounced Rainy. When I signed up for Earth and Beyond in 2002 I tried to use the name Rainy and it was taken. I then tried Rayne (like Ray-Knee). It was taken. So I added an "s" and the rest was history. :) zard 07-25-2007, 03:44 AM It's based on my surname. Game0ver 07-25-2007, 05:37 AM It's based on my surname. The sarcastic gamer in me wants to guess what this surname is. But, I ain't going there. :) zard 07-25-2007, 07:10 AM It's based on my surname. The sarcastic gamer in me wants to guess what this surname is. But, I ain't going there. :)That's exactly why I didn't post it. if you look hard enough, the answer is out there on the interwebs. CaptainDDL 07-25-2007, 04:24 PM I've been known by DDL for a long time...here in this past year, I've been using usernames such as Captain DDL or General DDL, just to vary it up a little bit. :) Eleven 07-27-2007, 09:35 AM I counted all the fingers on my hands.... o_O nine 07-27-2007, 09:58 AM I draw a tarot card and the swords 9 was it. I though it had a rather nice ring to it and sticked with the name nine of swords since the early bbs times. over time this transformed to the shorter "nine" ;) Volkov 07-27-2007, 10:15 AM I counted all the fingers on my hands.... o_O Where do you live again? Chernobyl? regua 07-27-2007, 11:17 AM Where do you live again? Chernobyl?I've read that he's actually dead (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/6918558.stm)! Eleven 07-27-2007, 11:23 AM I've read that he's actually dead (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/6918558.stm)! "Eleven killed in Red Mosque blast" Oh noes... But really, the Mosque was more of a....burgundy shade... Dave 07-30-2007, 11:45 PM Well I was originally Dave and then one day it stopped letting me log in so I had to make a new name and I returned to the forum. So here I am rock you like a hurricane. ghoti 07-31-2007, 08:48 AM Back in the misty beginnings of the internets, I called myself Legion (from Mark 5:9), then switched to 21stCenturyDigitalBoy for a while after I started university. That was too long for some forum software, and rather than try abbreviating it I started using "aniki", which I picked up from a (pretty bad, by his standards) Takeshi Kitano movie called Brother, and have used that more or less everywhere since. My current handle was something I'd been considering switching to for a while, but didn't want to divorce myself from the "aniki" name on any forums I was already participating on. I also use ghoti (pronounced "fish" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghoti), hence the avatar) when I'm posting somewhere that I don't want to be recognised or associated with my other, previous, handles. Volkov 07-31-2007, 09:01 AM Back in the misty beginnings of the internets, I called myself Legion (from Mark 5:9), then switched to 21stCenturyDigitalBoy for a while after I started university. That was too long for some forum software, and rather than try abbreviating it I started using "aniki", which I picked up from a (pretty bad, by his standards) Takeshi Kitano movie called Brother, and have used that more or less everywhere since. I also use ghoti (pronounced "fish" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghoti), hence the avatar) when I'm posting somewhere that I don't want to be recognised or associated with my other, previous, handles. Ohhh, now I understand your signature. Yousty 08-10-2007, 01:26 PM I came up with mine after years of deliberation and debating. I finally decided to put a 'y' on the end of my last name to get 'Yousty'. I know, it's genius. Btw, it's pronounced with a long 'o' i.e. rhymes with Toasty. My friends have called me Yousty for as long as I can remember so that's what I've always used. Lono_Lives 08-10-2007, 03:25 PM Oh fine I'll jump in. Lono is a character from a comic book called 100 bullets. At one point he is left for dead, but miraculously reappears several issues later. I wanted to use Lono for my gamertag, but it was taken and so instead I used Lono Lives, and that wasn't taken, so I have been using that tag since. I actually dislike the name, but at the time I didn't realize that xbox was charging me to change my name and after changing my gamertag three times, i just decided to stick with it. Since doc and Dave know me as Lono from xbox live, I've just decided to stick with it... and now I'm stuck. tgeahre 08-28-2007, 09:15 PM I participate renaissance fair yearly. In it I have the name Latharn Cormac (Latharn is pronounced like Lourn), but my friends call me Tgeahre (pronounced like tear). so most of the time I go by that for forums. Shane86 08-28-2007, 09:25 PM My mother gave me mine :o VinDali 08-28-2007, 09:25 PM My nickname is Dali (shortened version of my last name) or Dali Lama. A number of years ago a friend was telling me I should shave my head like Vin Diesel (I am mostly bald to begin with) and started calling me Vin Dali. I first used it as my Gamer Tag on Live and have used it in forums since. chewy gone evil 08-28-2007, 10:31 PM chewy gone evil came from nowhere. I wrote chewy gone evil in the back of my copy of Farenheit 451 my freshman year of high school, and I've used it as a an alias online since, including my xbox live gamertag. Nothing at all to do with Star Wars. Kalroy 08-29-2007, 12:03 AM I used to be Big Kahuna back in the BBS days. I started playing Red Baron and one of the established Allied pilots was already using it. He offered to give it up, since I'd been using it elsewhere longer, and being Hawaiian it is sort of a default nickname (better than coconut). I told him to keep it and went with the name Kai Wulf, but had no real handle to use forums or anything else. In '97 I was working at the Air Force's rocket lab, and leaving "Kilroy" pictures on every piece of pipe I worked on. The rocket test stand I was working on became populated with Kilroys. One day one of the "old guys" caught me and said, "Well, if you're Kal, and that's Kilroy, then you're Kalroy." It stuck, and was never registered online. It became my XBox Live handle (back in the XBox days) and transferred to my XBox Live gamertag. Oh, and the Kal part is because my first name is Kaleiokalani and it turns out that, outside of Hawai'i, most people have a problem pronouncing it properly. Otacon91 08-29-2007, 02:28 AM Well ever since I played the 1st Metal Gear Solid for the PS1 he was the most memorable character too me. I can't even give a good reason why, but I always remembered him with a smile, but I did take on his manuerism of using his middle finger to adjust his glasses. Ever since then I've used some variation of that name for everything I use. Tiannam 08-29-2007, 03:09 AM First one- Cheeb7799 (Runescape, 2003, I had Dial-up) (ewww numbers ^^^ total newb) Then I got Xbox live and made Tiannam in 2004. It has been it ever since. So it'll be Tiannam for 4 years, this Christmas. Good thing is, Tiannam isn't taken anywhere!!! No numbers for me :D LT REDTEAM 08-29-2007, 05:08 AM Always been LT REDTEAM ever sience me and my friends did Lan parties with the first halo I was never on blue DarkMess1ah 09-01-2007, 06:18 AM guess.... :D keith22 09-06-2007, 04:33 PM I use keith22 for gaming, although I use sinapsi_2 alot PacManPolarBear 09-07-2007, 10:19 PM PacManPolarBear has been my forum, gaming and email name for years now...if only to stand out and avoid having to have a different handle to remember. I have never ever seen like PacManPolarBear18 or anything. Duffman X18 09-07-2007, 10:45 PM Well, I'm a HUGE Simpsons fan, and my favorite charater(s) are kang and Kodos, those two green aliens with the one eye and the tentacles, but I thought, that wouldn't make a really good user-name. My second favorite charcter, Duffman, was perfect, however, be it's just one name and it's not funny and people know who he is. On a side note, and can do his voice darn-near perfectly. ANYWAYS, since Duffman was already taken on XBox live, I just added an X18 because my Halo profile on my old xbox was Spartan X18. Also, I got the X18 originally from my favorite letter & number. :D TheSmokingManX 09-08-2007, 08:46 AM I went by MrBlondeX for years and years, because the Reservoir Dogs character was awesome, but mainly because I loved Mr. Blonde from Perfect Dark. Nowadays I use TheSmokingManX since I'm absolutely obsessed with The X-Files. The Smoking Man and X are both awesome characters, so I get a two-for-one deal going. (Yes, X is actually a character.) Now, if only I could have gotten Krycek in there, I'd be golden. Chemical_Burn 09-08-2007, 10:13 AM Chemical Burn was practically half copied and pasted. "Chemical" being from my favorite music artists The Chemical Brothers, and Burn because I didn't wanna fully rip the name off. Plus I wanted something that sounded as an original alias as possible thus Chemical Burn was born. This was back way in the mid 90's. Ironically about the same time they were forced to switch names due to the fact they were using the same name other artists in the U.S. at the time were using. The Dust Brothers. Kudos 09-10-2007, 07:35 AM I read an old gaming mag, and it was describing a quake1 tournament, and the writer described a team 'getting the kudos kicked out of them'. I'd never heard of the word, and it sounded cool, so i looked it up. Since then, games like MSR on the dreamcast, and PGR on Xbox and 360 have used Kudos as a points system. People think that is where i got my game from, but i had been using it for years before those games came out. Kartinian 09-10-2007, 08:55 PM Well... Usually one of 2 I have makes a hit. First I try DungeonMan cause I really liked to play the Dungeon Keeper games before my disc broke and now I cant find a copy anywhere. 2nd is Kartinian, I like this one more cause I think it sounds badass and I honestly dont know how I created it, I've had it for as long as I can remember. Ala Douche 09-13-2007, 03:02 AM about 5 years ago, my friend called me ala douche out of nowhere.......... it stuck :( Canuck 09-14-2007, 01:24 AM Well, if anyone here follows hockey at all, then you'll know where my alias came from. Ala Douche 09-14-2007, 01:46 AM heh, i thought you were canadian uPod 09-15-2007, 08:46 PM My parody of iPod, hence uPod. *WARNING* If you do not understand this than you may be under the influence of mind altering drugs or your just stupid. I also use MoistChewyChunk which I got from a bag of dog food. And CLayMOre which I got from the anime Claymore, not the anti-personnel mine. dark sora 02-04-2008, 10:47 AM I have used dark sora for years on everyting...it came from kingdom hearts 1, tose of you who played it will remember on captain hooks ship when you were inside the captains chambers and you had to fight a copy of yourself... the copy was entirely black, so really it was a toss up between shadow sora (which I kinda wish I had taken) and dark sora... PopTrogdor 02-04-2008, 11:04 AM my nickname has been Trogdor since i started University, due to my amazing ability to sing the Trogdor song in the exact right key :P When i got my 360 i put in Trogdor and it came up with others as that was taken, and the first one shown was PopTrogdor, i couldnt be arsed to trawl through the rest of the results so i left it at that. When i got my PS3 i thought, **** it, and kept with the tradition. Now alot of my screen names are PopTrogdor, or Klankor, as that was my WoW character :P Mr Eibmoz 02-04-2008, 11:28 AM I like Zombies. Maulzorz 02-04-2008, 11:30 AM I have been maul since my KOC days, someone is username hogging on here so i am stuck with "Maulzorz". PopTrogdor 02-04-2008, 11:34 AM I like Zombies. haha, never thought about it before, its awesome, was always wondering why you were caled eibmoz :D Millakilla 02-04-2008, 11:37 AM I use millakilla on about every game and forums i use, My surname is millar so i thought i would just add killa at the end and it just stuck, and when i really think about it millakilla doesnt really make any sense lol:P darkwonders 02-04-2008, 12:10 PM hmm... that's a good question... I wonder if I remember it... Well I wanted a simple name, one that would be easy for people to say when playing, but something unique enough that I wouldn't see people running around with darkwonders189237 or something like that. First I tried the name Firestorm... It was ok, but it didn't seem appropriate for a gaming handle. Something was missing... So I pondered for a bit and came up with darkwonders. Don't know why I stuck with it. Perhaps it had a nice ring to it. *shrug* Not the most exciting story, but it's the truth... Artemas 02-04-2008, 12:30 PM Artemis is the greek goddess of the night as well as hunting. She also has some BRUTAL revenge related things. All of which are simmailer to me. It was only after I chose her name for my gamer tag that I found out she was female... my friends refuse to let that go. Hollowcow 02-04-2008, 12:35 PM Hollowcow is my Xbox live gamertag. I had just gotten live and wanted an original Tag so I thought to myself, what is strange and sure to not be used already? Hollowcow popped into my head and I have used it on every forum and account since. mrpuggywuggy 02-04-2008, 12:40 PM My nickname as a kid growing up was puggy then a girlfriend added in wuggy calling me puggywuggy all the time. I didn't like it at first but it grew on me so now i use it for email and for psn also for my xbox live gamertag. PopTrogdor 02-04-2008, 12:42 PM My nickname as a kid growing up was puggy then a girlfriend added in wuggy calling me puggywuggy all the time. I didn't like it at first but it grew on me so now i use it for email and for psn also for my xbox live gamertag. thats just...disturbing :P mrpuggywuggy 02-04-2008, 12:56 PM thats just...disturbing :P You would not believe the stick i get over my alias everytime i go online i get were the hell did you get that stupid name puggywuggy. I probably should change it but as i said i quite like it now :) Joshthegreat 02-04-2008, 01:01 PM I used/use joshthegreat since 2003 when I first joined Neoseeker. I just used it for everything since. Coming up with the name was pretty easy. Emophia 02-04-2008, 02:41 PM Some chick I knew made it up. Because I had these pants. iPlayPC 02-04-2008, 02:44 PM It's what I do... :D Maulin 02-04-2008, 03:15 PM Maulin is relatively new. After Halo 3 came out I fell in love with Maulers. Every time I got a kill with them, I would shout, "Maulin'!" as a way to make fun of this kid in our school who shouts, "Ballin'!" when playing basketball. It kind of just stuck. strika234 02-04-2008, 04:05 PM I always liked the codename "striker". I used it for all my files, when playing with my friends, and for many other things. When i got xbox live, striker was obviously taken so I shortened it. Still taken. So I to make sure noone would take it , I had to use numbers. I didn't want 123, but it had to be easy to remember, so from then on my xbox live acount and every other forum/ gaming thin has been strika234. ildreancipher 02-04-2008, 04:19 PM I actually tried to randomly type in a word, and then I added cipher to the end because I had just stumbled upon a site about cryptography. Jordan the hobo 02-04-2008, 04:23 PM A bunch of my friends have hobo in their name and i did it with mine and its my gamertag so i used that Ryobin 02-04-2008, 05:15 PM ryobin came from my mate doug in woodwork a fair wile back, apparently it was a combination of the ryobi drill i was using and ryboflavin we had just been talking about in science......wtf? but i liked ryobin a lot more than my previous -codename- amusias so i everything since then has been ryobin (but some1 had 2 take that on xbl so i had to go with Ryobin Delta (now that i think of it i bet i know who did it and probably just because they think theyre funny :/) [A7X]Batty 02-04-2008, 05:29 PM Mines from a song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2wMsnE2cvI I thought it sounded cool and then the numbers are supposed to be letters like 1=A 21=V 1=A =AVA which is one of my favorite bands. :] The McMurder 02-04-2008, 05:39 PM mine is just my gamertag... i think my friend came up with my gamertag back with the original halo Mallico 02-04-2008, 07:24 PM I'm not sure where mine came from, I just decided to use it when I signed up for FFXI. As I was playing a couple Russian speaking people told me it sounds just like their word for milk. I kind of want a new name to go under though, something practical with no numbers that I can use for everything. DemonicDerek 02-04-2008, 07:29 PM My gamertag was DemonicDerek and becuase I didn't really want to think of anything new I just used that. Also, I got my gamertag because my 360 suggested it. I tried something else to change it to, but it didn't work so I just said Derek and it suggested DemonicDerek. I was changin from BoneShmasher and I changed the name because when I thought of it I read it as smashing the bones in people's arms and legs and at that time I didn't know of the sexual reference known as "boner". So I got tired of listening to "hey BoneShmasher wanna smash my boner?" and the like. Pablos102030 02-04-2008, 07:29 PM (Pronounced "Paw buh los") Mine's a long story... before I moved into my current house, I had a friend named Austin. We decided to give each other nicknames, and I called him Winston because it kinda rhymes with Austin. He called me Pablos because he is sick and twisted and it has nothing to do with my name (Alex). Basically the name Pablo with an s on the end. the 102030 comes from Neopets (yes, I used to play neopets, sheesh.) Pablos was already taken, and I couldn't think of any number that would work besides 102030. My myspace name is 413><1 because it is the first name of Alexi Laiho (Singer for Children of Bodom) in 1337 Sp33K and COB ****ing owns. Oh yeah, call me Pablo and I will ****ing destroy you. Bauer22 02-04-2008, 08:10 PM Well I kick ass just like Jack Bauer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Bauer) and 22 is a cool, even number. Hobo Hunter1001 02-04-2008, 08:30 PM Occupation followed by number of casualties Spoofmaniac 02-04-2008, 08:37 PM ermm...I dunno. I just liked it I guess... It was either this, or German Anubis. I'm mostly german. And I like the name anubis. NecrisJ1MM 02-04-2008, 09:01 PM Necris - From the Unreal Championship II character race, which are dead people reborn with the Nanoblack Technology. And the Undead are kick ass! J1MM - From "True Crime: Streets Of L.A.", if you put the name "J1MM" in you license plate you'd be able to play as a "Nasty Corpse" character. Also it turns out my name is Jimm, yes.. I like it with two Ms ;] Sn4tcH 02-04-2008, 11:56 PM My old alias used to be Knives. One night I was playing a game of CS:S with an old clan I was in and we decided for a theme that night we were going to use the names of movies we loved as our alias'. I chose the name Snatch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snatch_(film)) because I had just seen the movie and thought it was awesome. Well, for whatever reason, the server was really heavy that night, and it was a lot of fun. People kept on coming back asking for the admin named Snatch for a few days. So I switched from Knives to Sn4tcH, and it just stuck. I also go on as Sn4tcH20 or McWoopty is my alias when I don't want people to recognize me. naruto20 02-04-2008, 11:58 PM I use naruto20 becuase I am a huge fan of naruto when I lived in Japan. Pablos102030 02-05-2008, 12:45 AM Occupation followed by number of casualties brutal. Canuck 02-05-2008, 01:26 AM Well I kick ass just like Jack Bauer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_Bauer) and 22 is a cool, even number. Why didn't you pick 24? :D Gruseaux 02-05-2008, 03:28 AM Gruso is an old nickname (see sig for pronunciation), and Gruseaux is just a pointlessly convoluted variation. I started using it after someone called me a heauxmeaux on another forum, lol. Sometimes I just use Seaux. FallenHeero 02-05-2008, 01:09 PM my alias was originally for my gamertag. I chose it because Heero (or Hiro) is my favourite character in 2 programs and im not always the best at games so Fallen Heero. Plus i think it just sounds cool :P Meta666 02-05-2008, 01:21 PM I like all kinds of world mythologies so when I needed a nick for FFXI because my usual one was taken I went through a list of mythological characters. Didn't want to take any demonic names like Beelzebub mostly because they are long and when people shorten them they type only the first 3 or 4 letters. So after a while I decided on Metatron. And people called me "Meta." After I quit FFXI I used the nick Meta on one site, still do, but when I found SG I wanted to make it a bit longer. So I checked the definition of the word. Meta + tron = Beyond + Matrix. So I decided to stick with the prefix Meta and had to decide whether to add 13 or 666 to the end because both numbers have a personal meaning to me. 13 looked kinda meh so I decided on 666. Too bad I didn't think of 13 as XIII, MetaXIII looks so much better :D. Dmatix 02-05-2008, 01:23 PM chose it randomly as an email adress a while back, and just started using it for other stuff later. Freakychan 02-05-2008, 02:20 PM I started out with icebaby, because of where I live and I was like...ten so I thought it was awesomeshit. When I got a little older I used Freakout005, which by other people was shortened to Freaky or freakychan. After that It was Mama-chan, long story, and I kinda use them both off and on. Everyonce in a while I use something random like "Sirjohnnypaper" but I like to stick with Freaky. rcwpong 02-05-2008, 02:42 PM Nickname was Pong in college. The house I lived in was named Rackham Court West. You do the math. SpudRock3t 02-05-2008, 04:56 PM SpudRock3t is actually my DSLite name. My friend went with me to buy my DSLite and I was like "What should I name it?" And he just yelled out SpudRock3t. So that happened. I added the 3 because that's what true PWNZ0RZ do. Right? I also use the name in Enemy Territory Quake Wars and all Nintendo games. I used to be known as <Spectre_0ps> (UT2004 anyone?) but it got annoying to type in... Barracuda 02-05-2008, 05:00 PM came from my combat robot team I had put together TeamBarracuda and Barracuda stuck. so all my names are a form of barracuda :) Scism3 02-05-2008, 05:23 PM Scism3 is fairly new for me in the last 2 or 3 years. Talayesen (My friends call me Tal IRL) and Wolfsong where the handles I used a lot. Still do in some places. My personality just jumps all over the place sometimes. My friend asked me what schism we were going to be and I just kinda starred at her. Never liked the "h" so I took it out. The 3 is my favorite number and at one point I tried to start a personal website named scism.net. It was taken...so I stuck the 3 at the end. The website may be gone, but the name stayed :) wittysarcasm88 02-05-2008, 05:37 PM A couple of years ago I needed a new email address because my previous had been muttgirl13 (atrocious, I know). It's stuck since because (1) I'm afraid I'll forget a new one, and (2) I can't think of anything new and clever when registering for new stuff. *shrug* MeggaMan 02-05-2008, 05:39 PM I was playing Dead Rising with my friend and at like 4 in the morning, I had the mega man helmet and the fake mega blaster and I started shooting zombies shouting "You do not touch The mega man!!" It's pretty damn funny at 4 in the morning without sleeping for near all week and since TheMegaMan was taken on XBL I spell it with 2 G's ChorleyDominic 02-07-2008, 06:06 AM My name is Dominic..... And I live In Chorley..... ..... .. *Tumbleweed* BigAndiD 02-07-2008, 06:35 AM I have used 'BigAndiD' for everything for as long as i can remember. Basically, im 6ft2, 18 stone (255 lbs) = Big My Name is Andi D Hey presto, i got myself a tag. ShockwaveLover 02-07-2008, 07:05 AM My name is Dominic..... And I live In Chorley..... ..... .. *Tumbleweed* I always thought that it was just your first and last names swapped around. You learn something new on these forums everyday! SWSilentkiller 02-07-2008, 07:46 AM Well the SW in my name is for a gaming clan I am in called Sniperwatch. As for the Name itself, when I was first joining sniperwatch, I had to pick a new name because my old one was unoriginal and boring. So I came up with Silentkiller. Usually if that name is taken I will add 2774 at the end of it. Don't ask why. eskimopirate 02-07-2008, 09:18 AM All my game names have been either MeBetterDenU, or just BetterDenU for short, but all my fourm names I can remember have been eskimopirate. MurpDog 02-07-2008, 12:52 PM sadly murpdog is only one of five. But my most comen are dark drake2 and MurphDog3 Diortem 02-07-2008, 01:08 PM Spell mine backwards and you have half of why.. the other half... sounds like a unique last name.... (not any in peticular.. but like it would be one) Maulin 02-07-2008, 04:34 PM Nice. Metroid. The third prime game is awesome, but kind of hard. Chexd 02-07-2008, 04:39 PM Oh fine I'll jump in. Lono is a character from a comic book called 100 bullets A bit off topic, but is that the same as the xbox game? The one with the great demo with the cell shaded vampire? I played it loads (the cell shaded vampire) but it then disappeared into obscurity with no release. :( viatrophy 02-07-2008, 08:59 PM Viatrophy actually means to take the head of your enemy.. :) But also it is a gnarly underground band. :D Tinman 02-07-2008, 09:06 PM I was watching the wizard of Oz Day before I got the Xbox. And with no heart I am a ruthless online killer. Meta666 02-08-2008, 10:05 AM With a smiley face that haunts the nightmares of your victims. :D janzantinga 02-12-2008, 05:23 PM Mine is my last name. Zantinga, I have a dutch heritage Necro9 02-12-2008, 05:27 PM Mine is my favorite RPG class. Everquest specifically. stluni 02-12-2008, 05:37 PM got mine from my initials, STL and lunatic (used to, well, still do, stupid stuff (fireworks anybody?)) =stluni clarky456 02-12-2008, 06:29 PM All i can say its a long story involving seven nuns, a priest and two bottles of pepsi xD Tinman 02-12-2008, 08:48 PM ^ or a nickname from your childhood matt4825 02-13-2008, 06:31 AM matt4825 is my gamer tag. Matt is my name, 4825 was my work id. In short? lack of imagination MadMikeMan 02-13-2008, 08:45 AM so I was playing command and conquer when it was good, and I needed a new name, other than the one I always used to use, and I wanted Mike to be in it, and I had tried the username Madkilla, so i added man, then I had 2 m's so I added another m word, so man, and then I didnt' want the words to blur so i capitalized all the M's. unohisname 02-13-2008, 09:12 AM Because in my city i am not them most popular guy but it all ways seem people love to talk about me not all ways bad just like to see what I doing so when someone ask my name I could say if i wanted to Unohisname. unohisname 02-13-2008, 09:16 AM Oh fine I'll jump in. I really thought your name was Lono it sounds real lol. PacManPolarBear 02-13-2008, 01:38 PM I've recently seen a few "PacManPolarBear" and/or "PMPB" posts and user id's floating around. Which strikes me as very strange since I have had the name for almost 8 years now without ever coming across any variation. I suppose it is possible someone else thought the name was cool, but it could also be someone who likes joining porn sites and other questionable sites with my name. So if you stumble across PacManPolarBear somewhere that seems a bit odd, chances are it is not me. The name of course, is pure nonsense that I created to be unique, so that I could be 99% sure the name would be free on whatever site or game I joined. It's also one of those names that people remember, which is both good and bad. NecrisJ1MM 02-13-2008, 06:30 PM The name of course, is pure nonsense that I created to be unique, so that I could be 99% sure the name would be free on whatever site or game I joined. It's also one of those names that people remember, which is both good and bad. Yup, it sucks when you come up with a unique ID that you like, somehow relates to you, and you can be remembered by... and then someone else tries to copy/steal it. That just sucks. I hope mine doesn't get stolen (i have a few other back up IDs though). iPlayPC 02-13-2008, 06:56 PM I suppose it is possible someone else thought the name was cool, but it could also be someone who likes joining porn sites and other questionable sites with my name. So if you stumble across PacManPolarBear somewhere that seems a bit odd, chances are it is not me. Bulls**t :D PacManPolarBear 02-13-2008, 06:58 PM ^ Lol. Not that I have anything against "questionable" sites, just that I would never register as PacManPolarBear. Sniper 02-13-2008, 07:04 PM I used to go by conrad,conrad61,spike,killer,sniperducky,or armaggedon. now i tend to stick with Sniper because its what i do best and those other alias are kinda lame. zbiggie 02-13-2008, 11:54 PM ^ Lol. Not that I have anything against "questionable" sites, just that I would never register as PacManPolarBear. I didn't do that originally..... enough said Griffin999 02-25-2008, 03:07 PM I was trying to register for Xbox live but every name I wanted was taken so I thought of a book I'd just read that happened to involve griffins and put 999 on the end because its a cool number. some times I also use gold_grif golden_grif gold_griffin golden_griffin and those with 999 on the end. Tarfire 02-25-2008, 04:21 PM Well, the "Tar" part of my alias is a shortened form of my last name (Tarnowski). The "fire" part comes from my obsession with fireworks and other pyrotechnics. regua 02-26-2008, 10:25 AM (Tarnowski) Sounds familiar, to be honest ;) Drem 02-26-2008, 11:06 AM I got my handle years back. I believe it was on a frisby Golf Course and one of my friends call me Douche reminisce cause I was owning him. It stuck and I have been using it for about 8 years now: ) Kinda gross but I shortened it up so most wont know what it means. I always like to tell girls what D-rem means after my friends call me that... Tarfire 02-26-2008, 09:29 PM Sounds familiar, to be honest ;) I'm of Polish descent so you probably have seen the name around where you live. Blaze 02-26-2008, 11:51 PM it seems that everyone gets their alias and from one corner of the world or another and keeps it through time but ya Blaze is my alias for the past 5-6 years codespace 02-27-2008, 01:13 AM codespace - the man, the myth, the legend. (note, always always always spelled entirely in lowercase letters) Technically, this is my fourth nom de plume on the internet. Originally, I was Spook. Turns out that was a racist term, so I changed it once or twice, ending up with Sleepy. I went by Sleepy for three years, give or take, then changed it to codespace. Been codespace for around a decade or so now, perhaps a little longer. It's a good name, I think. And it's original enough that it's almost always available wherever I go. I got the name from a slang term a group of scripters and I used to refer to the amount of space (32kb, if I recall correctly) an older version of mIRC had available for script files. Andrew 02-28-2008, 12:30 AM Mine is my name. i use my name for everything now. its just easier to keep track of and i was never creative enough to think of a nickname but on other sites im either, andrew or shakezoola shakezoola being from ATHF Truth N Justice 02-28-2008, 02:25 AM Truth N Justice is my gamertag also but i got it from the my favorite movie Boondock Saints . the tattoos on the brothers hands are Veritas and Equitas which is latin for Truth and Justice. no im not a cop . i cant tell you how many people think im a cop. bsf94 02-28-2008, 03:10 AM Well its my intails and the year i was born 1995 i actually meant to type 95 but i typed it wrong lol. greeneyedpsyko 02-28-2008, 12:03 PM greeneyedpsyko because its my gamertag. its that because my original gamertag for the original xbox was GreenEyedViking because I'm of viking decent (yeah... I'm a viking), and i have green eyes. (and because i was really tired of trying to think up a better one) When i switched to the 360 i couldn't recover my account for some reason or another, and i just thought up Psyko ... mainly because viking was taken and Psyko was one of the choices that was few enough letters. Hypnos 02-28-2008, 12:38 PM Hypnos is the greek god of sleep... I joined a clan a yr ago and they wanted everybody to add to a clan name...I got tired of the clan name in front and changed my name to Hydro Hypnos...because Hypnos was taken. But here I picked Hypnos... I have a tag which up until I joined the clan that I used for everthing...I kept it on a silver account and will probly go back to it one day... Raven 02-28-2008, 06:07 PM Well mine goes back to the days I used to play Soldat (which I still do). Raven was the call sign I went by. It started when a couple of my friends wanted to start a clan and the one said, and I quote "Let's use animal names like they do in that game Metal Gear Solid". I researched countless hours about animals in mythology and the Raven just kept coming up as a sign of discontent. So I picked the name Raven and we called our clan The Unkindness (a name for a group of ravens). It turns out that they sucked and quit. Edgar Allen Poe's poem "The Raven" is also my favorite poem. RatTail 03-01-2008, 02:26 PM SpudRock3t and I made my profile at school, so we just sat there and brainstormed for like five minutes. RatTail was the most creative thing we could think of. Ploogle 03-01-2008, 04:02 PM SpudRock3t and I made my profile at school, so we just sat there and brainstormed for like five minutes. RatTail was the most creative thing we could think of. You and Spudrock3t are real-life friends? That explains a few things... Chayce 03-02-2008, 01:54 AM Chase is an alias for hunters in the 13th century England. Chayce is a variant of Chase, but when Chayce is taken, ill go with Chayze or Chayaslkbndhjlk Chayce 03-02-2008, 01:58 AM Well mine goes back to the days I used to play Soldat (which I still do). Be sure to say your from SG so I don't think your just some random person trying to make conversation. MJBarret 03-02-2008, 10:47 PM Mine's just my name ... so, yeh, no interesting back story at all! Biohazared20 03-03-2008, 01:58 PM Mine is just my Gamertag but spelled differently pr0mqu33n 03-03-2008, 04:53 PM Mine was from the fact that I was the totally nerdy girl in high school who never went to parties, and just hung out and played Halo every weekend and someone nominated me as Prom Queen as a joke, and I actually won! Underdogs FTW! Anyways, when Xbox Live came out and I signed up, PromQueen was already taken so I made it 1337! Hence, Pr0mqu33n was born! LEGEND 03-03-2008, 05:07 PM I hate my username, i used to think it was cool. Now i jsut think it's stupid. My old forum alias was Golden Wonder 65, which strangely is also the name of a popular brand of crisps. I also hate me email, damanzdogz but i made it when i was 9 and im just too used to using it. TOA DOOM 03-03-2008, 11:12 PM Mine is my gamertag....which is my clantag followed by DOOM, because my old gamertag was doomv9y. The v9y was just there because doom was taken... NoneOfYourBusiness 03-04-2008, 12:34 AM Most of the screen names for things are silly sentences because they are usually not taken. Occasionally, like for gaming, I'll use a cliche tough guy name just for the hell of it but even then I can be prone to using "TheGingerBreadMan" or something along those lines. th3bun 03-04-2008, 12:39 AM well i was buntak but i found out it was a name of some old guy in (russia) so i changed it to thebun. all of my names have bun in it derbun-gat0rbun- kingbun0-bunsn1per-sw33tbunz ect. but my main is thebun motorhead36 03-04-2008, 01:31 AM i'm just a metalhead and motorhead is the band i listen to the most which actually doesn't sound retarded as a forum name. 3 is my jersey number for every sport i play so i took it and added a 6, my second pick for jersey number 36 isn't so much a variation, more like a number i always have put on near everything i have ever signed up for Turian209 03-04-2008, 03:40 AM Mass Effect owns, Turians from Mass Effect own, I own, therefore Turian 209 comes from Jeremiah 20:9 Shidela 03-29-2008, 07:42 PM Revival! Well, on the interwebs, I'm known as Keladry, kalikeladry, EmeliaRose, Shidela or Emo Koala. Keladry was a nickname from a series of books by an author a bunch of my friends and I were fans of, and each picked a character we were the most like. Obviously, I picked Keladry. Kalikeladry was what came out of me when I found Keladry to be taken, so I decided to put 'Kali' in front of it instead of 'Cali' because I felt like it should have a k instead of a c. I was 13, what do you expect? EmeliaRose kind of spawned from a modified version of a local band that I love, but it's really because I like the name 'Amelia' and my real name starts with an E, so I took that and added my favorite flower. Shedela was a name I came up with for one of my random character drawings, and I was starting to play City of Heroes and I couldn't think of a name, so I typed in 'Shedela' and my then-boyfriend said I should change the first e to an i... So I did, and there was born Shidela. It's hardly ever taken and I've always liked it. Emo Koala is an inside joke, more than anything. I'm sure almost everyone has heard of the term 'emo panda' and I called myself an emo panda one day, and my friend corrected me and said 'You're not an emo panda, you're an emo koala!' because I wear hooded sweatshirts, and therefore had a 'pouch' which made me a marsupial. It was probably one of the best conversations I've ever had. piston11792 03-29-2008, 08:03 PM mines my gamertag, i shouda spent more time when i picked my gamertag and thought of something better, but ive used it for so many things ill probally never change Masselli18 03-29-2008, 08:05 PM Masselli is my last name and 18 is 10/28 (birthday) subtracted but that equals -18...so just 18 Live4Him 03-29-2008, 08:29 PM I'm a Christian (no, I'm not a girl, and I'm not gay, which might have been what a lot of you were thinking) and so I was playing CoD2 back when I was like 11 (I'm 13 now) and I could never think of a name to choose. I always switched around with a bunch of really stupid names until finally, one day, I decided to choose something to do with my religion, since I usually played on a Christian server (it was called SiC, or Soldiers in Christ. If any of you played there, you rock) and so I came up with Live4Him. Occasionally I might change it to something like Sammeh (my name is Sammy) or Jesus Loves You, but nothing is quite like the original :D. nathanhale 03-29-2008, 08:55 PM I'm a Christian (no, I'm not a girl, and I'm not gay, which might have been what a lot of you were thinking) and so I was playing CoD2 back when I was like 11 (I'm 13 now) and I could never think of a name to choose. Shelby is my middle name and F is the initial for my last name, Ferguson. So basically I just suck. ShockwaveLover 03-30-2008, 05:28 AM I can't even remember why I picked mine. If anyone knows, please fill me in. Victorsxl 03-30-2008, 08:25 AM I've been going from different names as i've grown up and become "more of a gamer" i started out as young calling myself Evil_PandareanBrewmaster on WC3. Then ChampionPanda And on and on about Panda's (Really loved those creatures) But then i started doing graphics and decided to name myself SinisterX as i though it sound "sinister" and the X made it just a little cool. And after wearing that name for quite some time i took the name change to "VictorSxL" As my real name is Victor and my Surname is Saxlund. So i took 3 letters from my surname and formed the name VictorSxL which i am quite happy with and if you google it you'll see me up on many graphics related sites from back in my old days when i did graphics:D Tinman 03-30-2008, 02:37 PM I can't even remember why I picked mine. If anyone knows, please fill me in. You were watching an atomic bomb explosion and the shockwave was so incredible that it moved you to the brink of tears. It could have also been the radiation but it's to late for that now. you have 6 months at most due to radiation poisoning. Blackswordsman 04-13-2008, 03:38 PM May aswell add mine. If anyone has watched the anime or more importantly read the manga, 'Berserk', they would get it striaght away. seriously, check it out, its awesome. palingenesis 04-13-2008, 03:44 PM i've been using this forum alias for quite sometime (5+ years) and i use it on a lot of other forums. "palingenesis" means rebirth. i was just looking through the dictionary one day to find cool words to use in class and i came along this one. i liked it so much that i started using it as my alias online accounts and other stuff. TheLaughingMan9 04-13-2008, 05:38 PM Mine is my XBL gamertag and alias on most other websites i frequent, but how I came about that name is from the show Ghost in the Shell. Found the character interesting. Gir 04-14-2008, 07:15 AM Mine is a deliberate shortening of my gamertag. It's just easier to remember that way. Kickimanjaro 04-14-2008, 03:18 PM Well I was originally Kilimanjaro.... but then after a while on the bungie/podtacular IRC and getting kicked by KP so much, I changed my nick to Kickimanjaro....it stuck =P mallavu399 04-14-2008, 07:16 PM I invented mine myself. HAHAHA inventive!!! Ploogle 04-14-2008, 07:24 PM I invented mine myself. HAHAHA inventive!!! Very! I'm pretty sure I already posted in here, but my screenname has NOTHING to do with Google. It's my own original invention back in my n00b days...before meh skillz! ninjabean 04-14-2008, 07:32 PM started as a nickname, then I ended up using it for everything else. AcesHigh4895 04-22-2008, 06:05 PM Mine is from the Iron Maiden song. bmauro11 04-22-2008, 06:07 PM My Name Comes From the First Letter of my First Name And my entire last name, and the 11, dont know how i came up w/that. Feanor 04-23-2008, 04:49 AM As a result of asperger's, I'm an encyclopedic Sci-fi/Fantasy geek (although I hate the goddamn trekkies). The Beezs 04-23-2008, 05:11 AM Just cause I'm bored (worst time to post anything btw...) The Beezs comes from my Gamertag SBeezs. Why not just use SBeezs? Because every twit wants to pronounce the S despite any grammatical indication that the S is part of the name to be said. It's not "seabeezs" nor is it "subeezs", it is "S (ess) Beezs". And, SBeezs came around from wanting to pay homage to Tim Bisley, simon pegg's character in Spaced, which in turn is a take on the name Simon Bisley, which is a comic artist that I admire. Evolution of a name. Plus, it sounds better then Tispin or Mahimaki. Officer Mudkip 04-23-2008, 05:25 AM Got the inspiration from Encyclopedia Dramatica (http://encyclopediadramatica.com) and for some reason put Officer at the front lol sounded good to me! marshallladd 04-23-2008, 02:18 PM its my name. not very exciting i know. daCooksta 04-23-2008, 03:23 PM Well, my brother and I couldn't come up with a compromise for our Xbox Gamertag. So I was like, da...cook...sta... and the legend was born. yeah. just kidding about the legend part. cook is my last name, so that's the connection. Cyberspectre 04-23-2008, 04:50 PM I chose the name because it's the name of the main character in the book i'm writing kingofnoland 04-28-2008, 12:35 PM when I was younger I tried to create my own country, called noland. since then I just kinda always used that as a username. Oh and by the way I failed terribly Gunslinger 04-29-2008, 04:52 PM Mine just sounded kicka**. Plus, it was the name of a book by Stephen King that I was reading. I was surprised no-one had picked it yet. Anski 04-29-2008, 05:08 PM Stole the name (Anskiere) from The Cycle of Fire Trilogy (http://www.amazon.com/Cycle-Fire-Trilogy/dp/0061073555) (which I love a lot, obviously!). Used the name for many many many years for my online persona. Got shortened to Anski because it was 1) everyone shortens your name online when they talk to you (I was Ansk and Anski a lot), and 2) no one can pronounce Anskiere anyway. And I thought Anski sounded better than Ansk. Drazial 04-29-2008, 05:18 PM 'Drazial' was an adaptation of 'Raziel' from the 'Legacy or Kain' series. Stevo 04-29-2008, 07:30 PM My parents called me Stevoreno when i was younger and i liked it, so i cut of reno and left it as Stevo, and i guess it just stuck with me. piez 05-09-2008, 04:00 PM I joke between my friends and I was the misspelling over the word "pies" into "piez". I had no idea what to put in as a gamertag, so I put in piez. pherstothelee 05-09-2008, 04:02 PM My nickname with my friends was Phery (from my last name, Humphrey). I didn't really like the homosexual connotation, so it changed to Phers-Lee. And then for web usage I replaced the dash with "tothe". So then we have pherstothelee. irish boy90 05-09-2008, 04:27 PM well i used to use the name chris299. got it when trying to create and account on Age of Mythology tried chris...taken added a 2....tanken so hit 9 twice...not taken :) then years later I was trying out a flash game called Runescape and chris299 was taken. So I had to come up with a new name. I wanted on that means I wont be asked where I am from or if I am M/F or how old I am. So Irish -since I am irish Boy - since i am a guy and 90 since irish boy was taken (lol) and its the year I was born. thus the name Irish boy90 was born and its worked well so far. Jonny Nero 05-09-2008, 05:45 PM I played bass in a punk band...and they started calling me Jonny. It stuck. Then one day I saw an arcade game, a really bad arcade game (which I have an almost masochistic fetish for) called Johnny Nero Action Hero. So that's my moniker anywhere I go on the internet now Vinc3nt 05-09-2008, 08:18 PM Final Fantasy lol but ive used loads of different ones but Vinc3nt no1 seems to use which is great for me ive had lots of others including my gamertag Proudlyanaddict LatinLegacy 05-10-2008, 02:06 AM I was known as DarkLegacy for many years. Since Meridian 59 in my first MMO & to as early as the 80's in Arcade games where I used DL as my initials. I stuck with DarkLegacy until 2007. It's still my first choice in many MMO & online games I play. Some people use it now so it's not as unique to me as it once was for many years. I started using LatinLegacy as a backup name in 2005. That was the first time I came accross a game that someone already had DarkLegacy registered. LatinLegacy was originated back in my High School days. Around 1997. When I joined a street gang known as the Latin Kings. So some knowing my gaming name was DarkLegacy, they started to call me King Legacy at first which later evolved into LatinLegacy. L2 or Elle Dos (L2 in Spanish). I left the gang in 2000, when I graduated from HS. The LatinLegacy name stuck with me though as everyone kn ew me as that. So I still use it till this day. -LatinLegacy Waisybabu 05-10-2008, 07:09 AM My alias has two part. Waisy & Babu. Waisy is derived from my real name: Awais. It also means without reason. Babu means any one of the following: guy, father, king, sultan. I'm a guy without reason. Dawnathella 05-10-2008, 04:36 PM I just wish i could change mine O.O but thats to much hassle Kage 05-10-2008, 04:41 PM Nicked it from naruto :P Doty Tha Great 05-10-2008, 09:48 PM Doty is my last name and my original game tag was DIS Doty. DIS was a halo for PC clan I was in that stood for Drunken Irish Snipers. I thought it was free to change my name so I just went for it. After my Xbox got the red rings one of my friends from school asked of I was gonna change my name, for $10 I said hell no. My friends had kind of a clan or I guess you can really call it a squad called the GI's.Because I am so cheap my friends told me they would pay the $10 for mr (never did wtf). So my name was GIDoty just in time for halo.I never did really like GIDoty cause it was kinda forced and I don't want to pay to change it. I was playing with one of my friends on Halo 3 and I got a Extermination. One of the people on my team then said " Doty is tha greatest" and I thought that was funny esspecially because I suck at HAlo 3. IceKatana X 05-22-2008, 10:37 PM I chose my username because... -I'm not usually hot tempered (I think) -I'm Asian -I like katanas -I prefer cold weather as opposed to hot weather  DeathByWaffle 05-22-2008, 10:39 PM I chose my user name because it is my gamertag. Why I chose that gamertag so long ago I do not know :D Kiljoy 05-22-2008, 10:40 PM I used a wigi board and channeled the name. caruso1268 05-22-2008, 10:40 PM cuz its my gamertag too. PrimevilKneivel 05-22-2008, 10:41 PM Resident Evil Knievel was too long for a gamertag Shane86 05-22-2008, 10:42 PM I really wish there was a long interesting story behind mine, but meh whatever. PopTrogdor 05-22-2008, 10:43 PM Same as most, its my PSN ID, how i got to that is much more interesting....actually its very straight forward and boring, Trogdor couldnt be taken, and through the random name generator it came up with PopTrogdor, so i took it.../yawn :P Shane86 05-22-2008, 10:44 PM Oh yeah mine is my gamertag too, I guess that's a reason DeathByWaffle 05-22-2008, 10:45 PM Wow we could compile a book with all these stories! You know a bland, boring book, but a book nonetheless. WayOfTheNinja 05-22-2008, 10:45 PM My name for most forums, although sometimes it's taken. I made it up while I was in a shinobi phase. Shane86 05-22-2008, 10:48 PM I made it up while I was in a shinobi phase.Every child goes through that, apparently it's when most shuriken based deaths occur. DeathByWaffle 05-22-2008, 10:54 PM Every child goes through that, apparently it's when most shuriken based deaths occur. Thats how my 2nd cousin died. Artemas 05-22-2008, 11:20 PM Artemis is the greek goddess of the hunt and the night. It seemed sutable for my old playstyle and the time of which I play. If only my thumb didn't cover the "dess" when I picked it. Feanor 05-22-2008, 11:29 PM I'm an encyclopedic sci-fi/fantasy geek (although I hate the goddamn trekkies). Whitefire351 05-23-2008, 12:24 AM awhile ago some friends were dogging me do play dungeons and dragons. I never played, roe did I want to, But They never let up. Day after day they were one me to join. so I bought the book popped in the character sheet software and had it auto select a name. It came up with whitefire. I liked it. that was the first and last time I played d&d and that was the last time they asked. I took home the book studded it and chose a bard character, witch every one gave me grief for and asked me why. I told them it suited my needs. well after I was a pain in the ass character they never asked me back. I ask you if there was a rage chartor you never meet riding fast towards you would you not try to defend your self? Even tho out side the game we knew it was some one that wanted to try a new chartor, and the fact that chartor was yelling hey i need to talk to you I have some information I think i was in my right to connives the other players that he was a threat and we needed to shoot at him and when he caught up with the horses that I casted haste on and was about to jump on the horses "because we were in a carriage" I casted Grease on the horses as the 4 other character were shooting at him. and 351 was my address at the time the 6th degree 05-23-2008, 03:23 AM Gamertag. And my gamertag is from when I used to play the 6 degrees of seperation at work, all day every day. viatrophy 05-23-2008, 03:55 AM Thread has been done, please revive this one. http://sarcasticgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226 I Can Stop Time 05-23-2008, 08:34 PM i got I can stop time from heroes (Hiro Nakumura), for the benifit of anyone who hasnt yet seen heroes Hiro Nakumura can bend time and space so basically he can stop time and he can teleport into the future or back in the past... ShortHairedOffender 05-23-2008, 08:42 PM Well, on GamePro.com there is an editor name LongHairedOffender and he was the first editor I saw so I decided to steal his name. VaeVictus X 05-31-2008, 01:41 AM I've use VaeVictus X for around 6 years. Before that I was Thanatos27. Vaevictus has two notable gaming related connotations for me. First, it was Kain's battle cry in the original Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain (yes, the Blood Omen title came first on that game) and according to Kain in the game it's latin for "Suffering to the Conquered." Second, in the Dreamcast version of Unreal Tournament (haven't played the crappy PS2 port of the DC version, and it's not in the PC version,) after you win one of the single-player ladders and go to the trophy room, the camera will pan around the room. It takes a while, but eventually the camera pans all the way to the far corner of the trophy room and swings behind one of the pillars. On the back of the pillar is engraved "VAEVICTUS." On a related note, one of my Magic: The Gathering cards is called "Vaevictus Dragon." kind 06-01-2008, 11:34 PM i chose mine when i first play black for the original xbox the game ask me to pick a name profile so i just was moving the stick up and down and i realize i type kind and i like it and i keep it GreenGamer 06-02-2008, 03:55 AM Altough my alias on 'this' Fourm is Greengamer I am usally known as Edge in some form of incarnation over various diffrent fourms It all started back when I was 14 I joined a Chao forums (Becuase dammit Chao are freaking awsome) My current chao at the time was called Edge he was like my favorite chao ever so i used it as my web alias, I have used it on various diffrent things since from my Runescape name to my Rogues Name before he moved to Mazigos EU (Before: Eoxedge After: Gilagamesh) I think when registering for this forum both Greenedge and Edge where taken so I kinda gave up and choose green gamer though personally I prefer Edge Yamster 06-02-2008, 04:49 AM About four and a half years ago I was joining the weebls-stuff message board (y'know, weebl and bob toons, etc) and was trying to think of a name to use. As I thought, I ended up watching this toon (http://www.weebls-stuff.com/wab/chat) and a line from it was simply "you like yams?" so I figured I'd just go with that, question mark and all. I've used it for pretty much everything since, although I've shaken the question mark off a little. slik1000 06-02-2008, 05:22 AM i got I can stop time from heroes (Hiro Nakumura), for the benifit of anyone who hasnt yet seen heroes Hiro Nakumura can bend time and space so basically he can stop time and he can teleport into the future or back in the past... For the benifit of anyone who hasnt seen heroes I am going to spoil the first three episodes for you... USE SPOILERS! // edit by regua: corrected, sir. MeggaMan 06-02-2008, 05:55 AM Mine is from the Iron Maiden song. I f**king knew it!! Good song by the way. FakePlasticTree 06-02-2008, 09:58 AM My favorite song by my favorite band. DeathByWaffle 06-02-2008, 10:56 AM I really have no clue why my name is what it is. It is my XBL Gamertag, but I have no idea why I thought of that gamertag. Jacob816 06-02-2008, 11:04 AM I guess I've just been Jacob816 since forever. I used to be jacob_816, because thats my e-mail address, but I'm not sure when I changed it to Jacob816. Actually, its a funny story about how I choose jacob_816 for my e-mail was becuase I used to have an account with jacob_815, but I never used it, so it was eventually deleted. Spoon 06-02-2008, 11:40 AM Mine is my nickname. It started with a long story that involved sugar, livestock, and an unfortunate wager. It kind of faded away until my friends and I saw the greatest movie ever "Dog Soldiers". There was a guy in there named "Spoon" that reminded them of me so it got brought back up and stuck. Now it's in every forum name or anything that I do. I used to try to do cool names like "Raven" or "Demon" or "Fluffy" but they are always taken so I go with Spoon, Sir Spoon, or Sir Spooneth. They are always available...I wonder why. It was not until a few of years ago that I found out that the word has another meaning but it’s too late to turn back now. MightyMutt 06-05-2008, 04:46 PM As someone, namely Regua, asked me where I got my screen name from I thought I'd respond on this thread so that any one else that cares can see as well. NO ONE CARES! I hear everyone yelling at their screens but Regua cares at least so  Mutt was my nickname, amongst my close friends, at school. From Muttley (as in Dastardly & Muttley - Wacky Races etc) More of a reference to my tendency to mutter under my breath but the name really stuck after I laughed liked Muttley (like once in my entire life but it was enough) When I was on the original 360 my Gamertag was Mutt v1.0 (coz I couldn't get Mutt) I wasn't totally happy with it and when I changed to the 360 I was struggling for inspiration, the 360 suggested MightyMutt - I liked it coz of the association with Mighty Mouse. It's the two components of Muttley and Mighty Mouse that gave me the inspiration for my Avatar. S3AB1SCU1T 06-05-2008, 06:54 PM I chose S3AB1SCU1T whilst watching an episode of family guy when Cleveland mentioned it, I liked the way he said it, it made me laugh. Kalias 09-02-2008, 04:32 PM Most of my Aliases have some sort of k sound in it Examples: Clise, Kearoh, Karmine, etc. Got the nickname of Cleese (like Monty Python) from a friend with a funny accent. It got old, and I started testing out some others for different forums but after hearing people fail to pronounce some of my newer ones, I decided to revert back to one of my older handles, Kalias. And they all lived happily ever after. The End DontEatTheYellowSnow 09-02-2008, 04:50 PM My old handle used to be Dementri which happened when i was playing a text-based Harry Potter MMORPG and was trying to think of a name when i thought of all the evil people in Harry Potter, then i thought of the Dementors and thought of the russian name Dimitri and they kind of merged. My new one was when i was listening to the Sarcastic Gamer Playstation Podcast and PacManPolarBear was doing shoutouts and he read out the name DontEatTheYellowSnow and i thought it was quite funny, as did he so it has kinda grown on me Bracket 09-02-2008, 05:16 PM I love brackets {and use them all the time, nearly obsessively}, so a good friend started calling me bracket {and that is how I got my forum name}. :D AlmightyEmperor 09-02-2008, 05:17 PM Mine is a thing microsoft randomly gave me at the Choose Your Gamertag screen. How right they were about me :D Grantly 09-02-2008, 05:18 PM People call me Grantly, so I picked the name. It's an exciting story, I know. PayneTrain 09-02-2008, 05:39 PM I don't like corporate gaming and Kotaku helped fit the maximum characters. Also I was in a rush and forgot GamepotSucks. My GT is PayneTrainVT because I'm usually called Payne Train (My last name is Payne, and for my age, and where I come from, I look like an imposing figure, and the VT is Virginia Tech, a institute/college in Virginia, my home state. SamFtw 09-02-2008, 05:43 PM My name's Sam and I won. That's the official story. Fearless987 09-02-2008, 05:45 PM It's my real name I wanted to use my gamer card (Fearless987) but I put my name in by mistake. Name your son Max. It would be ****ing amazing. "Max Payne didn't do his homework today" "**** home work hi is busy avenging his wife" zinc136 09-02-2008, 05:48 PM Actually it's not a very interesting story, but a story none the less. I made this name from runescape, originally i was trying to get the name chickenbutpizza(don't ask me why it would have been a bad choice cause the name was crap) and my friend tricked me into not getting the name several time. So i just chose zinc out of the air and it was taken so i chose one of the numbers they listed and the number was 136(one-thirdy-six). Since then i've used it on every thing i join just because it's short and easy to say and usually doesn't take me long to log into stuff with it. Killgraft 09-02-2008, 07:04 PM Hmm I liked reading about some of your names. Wow, I have no life. Anyway, Ive been putting my corny and faux "bad ass" prefix "kill" on words for screen names for a while. "Killtography" is the only other one I can think of right now. Then, I got into a car accident about 2 years ago (Wow, time flies) and I had to get a skin graft on my right arm cause the airbag burnt and ripped it all up. So a little while after that the word "Killgraft" popped into my head and Ive been using it since. I also used the name "The Great Goodbye" for a while after a little band I had in highschool. Agreatgoodbye is still my AIM name. Yamster 09-02-2008, 10:18 PM http://www.weebls-stuff.com/wab/chat That was nearly 5 years ago and save for the removal of a question mark and a modification replacing the prefix "Youlike" with the suffix "ter", it's stayed pretty much the same for all that time. You already posted that on this page  Jus Blaze Man02 09-02-2008, 11:06 PM I came up with this name from a Halo 3 beta video I saw on IGN. his name was JusBlazeMan and it kinda stuck with me so even though that tag wasnt used on Live, I named myself with an 02 at the end just so if the original wanted to put his tag on live, I would be nice enough to let him have it :) Yamster 09-03-2008, 12:01 AM You already posted that on this page  I can never remember things, I'm going senile :( Lib3rtine 09-03-2008, 08:02 AM Mine comes from my favourite band "The Libertines". Odins Messenger 09-03-2008, 10:50 PM I got my name from my (Obsession?) with Norse Mythology. Just simply because Odin didn't take any Sh*t from anyone, and was the king of the gods. Granite 09-04-2008, 04:35 AM I go this one way back in the day on a Compuserve forum dedicated to space combat and flight simulations. Internet handles didn't really exist back then and for that matter the internet wasn't anything like it is now, no web browsers or web pages, but everyone had callsigns, and I ended up with Granite as a play on words of my real name. That's my nickname of choice, though if it's taken (which happens all to often, though I think I pre-date most claims to it on the net ;) ), I usually go by Sabruer, the term for a sabre fencer, which is what I do with my free time when I'm not playing games. Kojin 09-04-2008, 10:21 AM I simply made up the name Kojin one day, back when I was still playing some D&D once a week with some friends. Not sure why I came up with it, but I thought it sounded cool. Interestingly enough, apparently Kojin actually does mean something. I was board one day and googled "Kojin" for my own amusement. I got back not one, but TWO wiki entries. "Kōjin, also known as Sambō-Kōjin or Sanbō-Kōjin, is the Japanese kami (god) of fire, the hearth, and the kitchen. He is sometimes called Kamado-gami, literally the god of the stove. He represents violent forces that are turned toward the good of humankind." "Karatani Kōjin (柄谷 行人, born 1941 in Amagasaki) is a Japanese philosopher and literary critic." So Kojin has meaning in Japanese culture. Who knew? Here are the links: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C5%8Djin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kojin_Karatani Me likey fire and philosophy!
