You may be confused by what i mean.
Well ill give some examples

Eddie Murphy, used to be cool, like with "Raw" and Beverly Hills Cop... then he did Dr Doolittle... Norbit... and now his most recent film "Imagine that"... just urgh

again... urgh...

Finally Vin Diesel... he was in Pitch Black and XXX... then he was in "The Pacifier"... just OH DEAR

Who else can you think of whose image has been ruined by a film they did? OR a singer whose image has been ruined by one song? etc.

Eddie Murphy's image wasn't ruined by his film career, more his choice in accompaniment when traveling by motorcar.

Gerrard Butler apparently plays the type of role you'd expect from him in that film, I like that he is able to branch out and explore comedy even if the end result is going to be awful.

The Pacifier is watchable trash, no issue with it.

but Gerrard butler couldnt now go back to being Mr THIS IS SPARTA!!!! because then i would just think about that stupid film...

And no... pacifier is UNwatchable trash...

Nicolas Cage. Dude used to act in awesome films like "Con Air" and "The Rock," now all his movies are complete crap. The first "National Treasure" wasn't that bad, but "Ghost Rider" was terrible enough to kill five careers. Probably makes a bunch of dough off of each project, so I doubt he really cares.

Current trilogies - The Usual Pattern

First Movie - Great, imaginative, interesting and make lots of money cause of it
Second Movie - Quite good, fairly interesting, fewer moments that made the first movie so good it warranted a second. Makes lots of money due to affiliation with First movie
Third Movie - Usually garbage, make lots of money due to 'wrapping all up' and 'happily ever after' moments

I was under the impression that we were talking about actors that ruined their credibility.

Ben Stiller Is really good in any movie he's in. It's just like how Will Smith is really good as any character. They're going to be those actors that end up being legends.

I don't agree with Dwayne Johnson comments, Race to witch mountain and The Gameplan are both enjoyable kids films, Gerard Butler makes one kinda lame comedy and his image is ruined? Have you seen the GAMER trailer?

But one celeb whose image has been ruined is Mel Gibson, I mean no one will ever forget how he showed his true colours, oh and this guy

But thats my point they're kids films. The rock had a tough guy rep but now he will stoop down to do kids movies. Im not saying there bad movies im saying there bad roles for him.

They're trying to create longevity to their careers, it's the same templete that Arnold and Sly Stallone have used to keep their careers going for life. If you only do tough guy characters you get type casted. Think of all the terribe family comedies that Arnold did through the years. Need I say more then "Kindergarden Cop"?
